You mean, glue, baking soda for texture then paint on that? I would think it would as the glue can still dry and shrink which is what causes the paint to crack.

No, I make sure I don't super saturate the wipe and then within a couple seconds after I'll pull it off. If you wait too long it'll try to bond and then you may end up with fibers left on the base.

Id recommend scraping through to get good contact with the base. Otherwise you could drill and pin, adding a metal rod to get a good hold on the base. 90% you'll be fine gluing to a varnish layer but eventually it will give up.

I've found pampers baby wipes have been pretty good with the material they use. Unfortunately they are always changing what they use in the wipes.

I think they came from anvil industries but I can't seem to find them anymore?

The one that I'm using is a random orbit circular sander. I'm not sure exactly what the rating is in it though. The other things I've had luck with is putting a full sand paper sheet on a textured surface to reduce sliding and then using a bottle with blue tac to move the base against the paper. A bit faster and not as much fatigue as moving sandpaper across bases manually.

I haven't tried it myself but I would assume that you could. Most sprays bond really well with whatever they contact.

You should be able to substitute it for another white, the ink is just my favorite for airbrushing. Hope it works out well for you.

It sounds like a lot of cleaning wipes use a different material. I settled on pampers wipes if you can find some of those.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I left them out overnight, but I'd imagine a couple hours would do it. You could also hit them with a hairdryer to speed it up.

Bummer, sorry to hear it didn't work out. I actually used pampers baby wipes because it's what I had at the time. I've heard of a couple other guys that had issues with that tearing as well.

@@OriginPainting It's fine by now. I looked up why it was and it's because some wet wipes are flushable and others aren't. You gotta get those that aren't since they don't tear or dissolve in water. Got different ones with now a symbol that says "not flushable" and it worked with those. They were kinda difficult to find because everything trends towards environmentally friendly, but yeah it was baby wipes for me that worked too, so thanks :D Planning to pry off my sisters of battle from their bases to do this.

You should be able to do it with a black and white spray can. Just make sure to not flood the base or it will get under the fibers.

If I remember correctly the fronts needed thing out a bit to fit between wheel connections and the rears seated inside the tire housing. I used milliput to fill the gaps left in the rear section.

Are you trying to do it for a full army or just a couple models? I'll think on it and try to come up with a way to do it.

I usually try to varnish before using heavy washes that I plan to physically remove. If you wait a day for the paint to cure more it'll be easier to avoid damage without varnish but I think it's always better to add the protection.

@@OriginPainting I have a cool chaplain Kitbash and it looks alot better with a Sanguinar helm. But i want to stay to the lore 😀. So its not a heresie if i make a blood angels chaplain in the deathwatch with a Sanguinar Helm?

Blood Angels are codex divergent. Their chaplains are known as Sanguinary Guard - they wear helmets made in the image of their Primarch, not the Emperor. Something about it helps them quell the Black Rage of other Blood Angels. Regardless, they’re not normal Chaplains
