@@gusflorianschnaider1910 Absolutely much better details than the Monitor Audio 7 budget price speaker that I’m using currently albeit the much boasted gold tweeter it is equipped with back in those years more than two decades ago.

@@ksy1862 oh well.... the new JBL dual diaphragm compression driver D2415K (4349 Studio Monitor) technology is pretty damn good on highs/middle frequencies... Although I had my doubts, they did really work

@@gusflorianschnaider1910 thanks for the kind words. I will see what I can do. Original speakers were Bose. Hung them from the 10 foot high ceiling. Played Bach organ on Angel records for an English expat named Harry Miller who took photos and did reporting for the English language newspaper in India, including interviews with the Dalai Lama who had asylum there. Harry usually had his index finger hooked into a glass of straight gin with a slice of lemon he pushed on. But I gave him a special pale cognac, vintage 1913 if memory serves, rebottled in 1947. We imported duty free from an old house of wines in London that was going out of business and offered us in the American Consulate General a one time super deep discount. I had bought six bottles of the cognac. It was incredible and something I could never in my life repeat. That was 1974. Would probably be $1,000 a bottle today if you could ever find it. Anyway, the Bach on a good stereo system and the cognac had their impact. Harry just sat in my special armchair in the exact center, enraptured by the sound, and then tears flowed. Am sure you know that’s what music can do. At our age, your father and I should be eager, greedy, to hear more while we can. That’s how I have been feeling about Mays/Metheny compositions that I really only came to know last year.

@@gusflorianschnaider1910 Oh forgot to mention the preamp and a not so great tube amp we’re traded in for a Luxman combined or integrated system. The speakers were sold and I got a pair of DCM Time Windows that were given top rating by an indie audio magazine for modest budgets. The turntable was a Denon.

And now that I think about it, between the Bose and the DCMs I did have a pair of JBL speakers, flat about 2 feet x 2 feet. Back then JBL speakers were described by that audio aficionado’s magazine as having good mid range sound but their best application was when used as sound for performances by singers like Joni Mitchell. Am sure all that has changed and evolved.

Yeap!!! Tony Levin and David Rhodes were Peter Gabriel's backing band for a long time.... and LARRY GOWAN great songwriting chops. He hasn't gotten anywhere near the recognition he deserves!

A long time ago I had a website about progressive music, which I included links and information about some artists in different prog subgenres; and then I contacted Big Big Train by email. For a gift, Big Big Train send me an original CD ("Bard"). I really liked this. Nowadays, this is a great memory for me. Recently I watched a Big Big Train Blu-Ray ("Stone & Steel"). I have this original "Bard" CD here. Great music.
