Kayaking West Prong Alum Cave section
มุมมอง 1.3K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Alum cave section of the west prong of the little pigeon. Water was high and eddies were disappearing. Put in below a river-wide log on the class 2-3 lead in and had one wood portage in the steep section that was hard to spot from upstream.
Flooded Lower Big Creek Kayaking
มุมมอง 5K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Lower big creek NC at around 7 feet on the bridge gauge. This creek was super flooded and the only reason we felt somewhat confident in the wood situation was because a crew had run it just before us.
High water West Fork Pigeon and Upper West Fork Pigeon
มุมมอง 1.3K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Kayaking the West fork pigeon above and below garden of the gods after a heavy spring shower. Paddling the Waka kayaks Steeze, the video is not a comprehensive guide only the major rapids.

Highlight reel from the past 4 years whitewater kayaking. Shot in the Southeast US, PNW, Cali, and the Midwest. Thanks to my boat sponsor Waka Kayaks and everyone who took videos of me kayaking!

First day of March on the green with NO DRY GEAR ON! I was a little cold but I was definitely feeling the summer vibes. Mostly good lines out there today in my Alpha 90
West Prong and Ramsey’s Prong Kayaking

Some of my favorite (and not so favorite) moment from me and Sam Sharpe’s day in the Smokey Mountains kayaking.
High Water Smokies Shmash n Grab
มุมมอง 1822 ปีที่แล้ว
Big day kayaking in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. Started with Kick Yer Dog falls on the Lynn Camp Prong then headed over to the Thunderhead Prong before finishing on a large Tremont. Lastly, Logan and I had our West Prong pfd with ample flow. Very good kayaking
Hike-up Ramsays
มุมมอง 3103 ปีที่แล้ว
Hike-up Ramsay section of the Middle Prong of the Little Pigeon kayaking. Level was 2.4/5" and felt on the lower side of medium. Video only shows the top 2/3rds or so and several steep sequences including several portages were downstream.

Nice! Some good stuff in there!
Good stuff boys !
I used to fish the upper run in the 70's and 80's. I'd image that all the homes and bridges are gone after Helene. Some impressive holes scattered throughout the run, especially near your take out. Our old family cabin on the Cane R on 99E is gone. Feel badly for the guy who bought it a couple of years ago, and all those impacted..
Im watchin this vid every morning of november when i wake up get reddy for work
Wish i could i wish i could give this more thumbs up
Legendary. Epic. Historic. Inspiring. Etc.

1000 year flood makes for some great boating. @2:45 did they flush or swim?
@@FFAdventuresOriginal they swam
@@nathanbond5151 glad they made it out...that looked nasty!
Wow, looking glass is insane
people have lost everything so lets go kayaking. Yeah that will work
@@docmccoy1928 this happened Friday, we had no service or way to know how bad the hurricane was in other areas
🙄 False equivalence
@@nathanbond5151 but now you know and still post it with this headline.... not polite at all. Kepp on paddle

Nice run!
Amazing video 👍👍 Thanks for posting
Get it !
Awesome 👏 video!!
Whoaaaaaa love it 😍
My God that was insane!!
Love this video. Looks like so much fun.
That was a best day of paddling. Good meeting you. Can't wait till it comes up again. One of the best big water runs in this area when it is high.
I am amazed you had that much without wood jamming it. And aren't the rocks pretty sharp in that section? I have been concerned that I would get my boat chewed up except in crazy high water.
Did you put in at a pedestrian bridge? Or is this the typical west prong put in in the curve? Do you know what the level was?
We put in below the alum cave trailhead and ran the section above the road prong confluence
Damn rafted it at 4 last summer this looks like such a sick flow
Nathan bond. Can’t stop won’t stop… just going to be sick till the takeout
i love Big Creek but that is more like the Reventezone in Costa Rica. You guys are good boaters to have stayed out of the hydraulics, although most of them looked like they were washed out at that level. But as you know, it only takes one good hydraulic for you to lose a boat and paddle.
If you were to swim this you'd have bigger problems than loosing your boat and paddle
@beenwithalowercaseb19 lol well thats the thing, u lose a boat and a paddle then you areee swimming😳😳
@@beenwithalowercaseb19 Absolutely! I was thinking all the way through that, don't wet exit now!! The way that water was running and piling up against the bridge supports, not to mention all the debirs that was in the flow, you absolutly don't want to be in with that lot! Strainers and hydralics every 1/2" of the run haha. Respect and credit to those guys for paddling it so well.
Thanks for posting. I came across this while looking for access points or possible swimming holes above/below sunburst falls. I went there like 20 years ago and have been trying to get back ever since! Thoughts? Thanks!!!
Very nice thanks for sharing 😍❤
😮😮😮 Amazing 😍
So fire
This is so sick
Was the second part up near Yellowstone & dark prongs?
Other side of the ridge. Bubbling spring branch into upper west fork pigeon
That was a weird pin! Can you provide some context to what caused the pin?
I should have entered further right with right to left momentum. Stern got sucked down when I tried driving over a rock in the entrance and boat lodged. A creekboat would’ve helped
This edit is 🔥🔥🔥. It was really cool seeing it on the big screen.
keepin it g
oh hey there
waiting for water on both these Prongs.
Thanks for the video Nathan! I live in North GA and currently paddle a Remix 79. How do you like the Alpha 90? Looking to possibly make the switch.
Mondo skip out of slippery hotdog
I trail run the Smokies and Ramseys is steep. From my old days as a boater, I am wanting to go and hike Ramseys. Gotta scout and cut out the wood first.
