Inspired by the "decisive moment" school of street photography, since 2003 I've shot tens of thousands of candid clips with a cheap, low-resolution pocket camera (the all-time classic Canon PowerShot S200 Digital Elph). I studied poetry with Allen Ginsberg, who in addition to being one of the 20th century's most influential poets was also a first-rate documentary photographer who famously advised, "Notice what you notice."
Each robZtv clip is like a poem--some resonate more than others, but all share a common vision. Individually, each clip is concise as a haiku; taken together, they form an idiosyncratic documentary of the times as well as epic video memoir told in cinematic shorthand.
Watch with the sound up or mute it to your music. Great party, bar, or venue background visuals. robZtv might just change the way you see the world.

This series originally aired on Seattle Cable Access Network in the mid-00's. It was briefly available on amazon until they pulled it because it was too low resolution and didn't have subtitles. Well, lo-res is the aesthetic and there's no need for subtitles as it's almost purely visual and when there is dialogue it's largely irrelevant and unconnected to any larger meaning, but try explaining that to The Borg. So rather than have all that work sink without a trace, I'm making the series available here for free.
