    Yes, there is such a thing as too much fabric. I was gifted an entire stash. I gave more than half of it away and I have used a lot of it. I still feel overwhelmed by so much fabric. Also I am trying to use what I have and not buy new. I don't like mixing new with vintage. It may be less daunting if you're the original purchaser... all fabrics will be to your liking. It's still frustrating when I see beautiful new fabric that I can't justify buying.

      I also had a friend that gifted me bags of fabric and at the time I was so broke I welcomed it but as time went by I just watched it sit there because it was never the color I needed but I used what I could and gave away to those that needed some like I did at that time. Thank you for sharing! Hugs, Robbalee

    from Gerry- I did this with strips going long ways. My sheets are 6x9 so I added 2" white strips long ways on one of the block so it became a 9'square and sewed the 6x9" bock to the top of it so the fabric was horizontal. That became one block. When I put the rows together I flipped every other block and the white strips made a great pattern. Thanks for the idea and God bless.

      I found the pattern, it's called turtles, turtles by Connie Spurlock www.sewwonderfuldreams.com I believe it was under animals in the applique section page 8. Fair warning, the pattern called for much smaller turtles so I enlarged the whole pattern to get it to be larger. it was increased by 150%. Blocks were 12 inch finished. Let me know if I can help. I will see if I can do a video for it.

      If you continue to follow, the quilt will reveal itself soon. If you like it you can always purchase the pattern on etsy and work on it at your own pace. I like a mystery because I feel like it frees you up to go with the flow and see what you get at the end. I have to admit, it's not for everyone but it's a lot of fun! I enjoy seeing the wonderful colors that it turns into at the end. Thank you for your interest and for taking time to comment. Hugs.

    Here’s a tip I use 2 sheets per load😳 but they get a second use🤪. When I have a bunch of them I’ll use that in a load, so I use up the rest of the dryer sheet! I’ve been very happy with the results. After seeing others use them, I’ve been saving them which also helps cut down on garbage! So I guess I’m getting my moneys worth🤑 Thank You ❤️😀

    • @srqquilters1146
      @srqquilters1146 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Much cheaper, exspecially if you use dryer sheets anyway. They can be cut down to what ever size you use or use them whole. I don't think i would ever use them like this if they were unused. To much in concentrate, so I probably wouldn't try that.

    • @srqquilters1146
      @srqquilters1146 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do alot of my patterns through EQ8 that I design for demonstration and for sale. I do some demonstrations for other patterns without giving out measurements. I am also a scrappy quilter and love to use up leftover fabric to create I spy and other types of scrappy quilts. I have a pattern writer that helps me write the instructions and tests my notes that I provide her. I am terrible at writing patterns but love designing them. I am working to get better at pattern writing, it is kinda like proof reading your own writing. LOL, not a recomended procedure. Sorry for the long message but I love talking about quilting! Hugs
