I’d Volta with him any time. And the real Volta is a little more personal. Not just lifting at the waist, and a little leg action! Very scandalous for a Queen to do!
Love this film. Elizabethan court was full of Manners, observing them, men bowing elaborately, showing the calf of a muscular leg etc! It was all about a man courting a lady, poetry, music dancing. Elizabeth was very cultured before becoming Queen.
exact movements, exaggerated gyrations for kids of the 90s..i am one and i know. these are arrogant and bouncy...gives a self centered aura. the other ones i see in movies are robotic because they are taken from books that have illustrations. i would think...looking at georgian early aryan dances and going as far as syria for levantine renditions....it would flow from step to step and a sense of modesty because a woman is close to a man in a public display of couple expression? it says they must have been pompous.
Movies forget married women kept hair under linen caps and never went outside without a hat or bonnet. Sometimes the extras on set look better than the lead cast. Ditto for a man with his linen showing and doublet unbuttoned. Never in public.
To bad I would have like to see the part wear the queen gets kick under her ass wile dancing the Volta. Disappointed. She must have been quite a provocative woman even as a queen. So idealized by the English, not all was of hers doing, many by chance.
"La Volta was Queen Elizabeth's favorite dance in the 1500s, as referenced by Jasper Ridley's book Elizabeth I, The Shrewdness of Virtue (published 1989)."
He has skinny legs like farkle lol

Elizabeth the first a true queen & statesperson she had a very tough time dangerous time too ❤

Try the Volta with someone Lizzo's size.
She found it in the window and just had to have it

She never, never, NEVER would have worn her hair down in public.
Honestly. As much as they pay attention to some historical things they totally neglect others

Porquê não?
@@deem7478 She wasn't married !
She did that..In her coronation.

Diese königin zeigte der ehe den stinkefinger .
Love the music 🎶🎶🎶
It is nice, but I don’t think that orchestration with those instruments existed in Elizabethan times. Not yet.
Such thin legs
Best Queen of all
Where can I get the real music without voice ?
Movie soundtrack. Be aware this isn't period music.
My favourite monarch so clever had to work so hard for her respect
The Volta
What they are doing is nowhere near a Volta. It's the dance version of gibberish.
From what I hear Edward de Vere (aka Shake-speare) was one of Q Elizabeth’s favorite dancing partners. I’d love to see a film of them doing La Volta!
Voice quality is sucks!
Stupenda!
How silly.
No words. I like to be on Elisabeth 's place in this moment. Perfect.
The queen dancing la volta!!! Outrageous!!! Call mary stuart!!!no,wait...
U mean the bastard Queen. Yeah.

Boa tarde amo dança medieval 😄
Dann sind Sie hier falsch😂😂😂
0:48 the kid in the back looks like a baby Lily Allen
It's not Shakespeare in Love, it's Elizabeth with Cate Blanchett
Hence "can also be seen in", not "is seen here in"
Cool. No one said it wasn't.
Wish I could find this in about a 5 minute version
Shame they didn’t use authentic 16th century choreography.
And music

Well I would ask you how you know all this, but it doesn't matter. It's very interesting regardless.

Im here because of the link from the dreaming fic
The Shyan one right? Because if so then same lol
Splendid! 👏😍
Joseph Fiennes cuts such a dash in this film. He wouldn't look out of place in a Tudor court.
Crazy English, but thanks for this beautiful scene. This is Civilisation!
By "Crazy English" do you mean the subtitles or the characters in the scene?
