Picked a crane up from the factory in Pasco, then took it to Nigg bay in Scotland
I currently work there now and nothing has changed!!!
Appreciate your support ps a local 13 member the fight is never over long live the ILWU thanks brother!!
This is funny! I worked at HMC as a security officer back in 1995-1996. In those days, I was given an old school mag light flashlight, handcuffs and was told to always protect the nurses, doctors and staff no matter what. I received ZERO training. Then again, our chief and the late great Lt. Conway always backed us up. The fights we got into were non-stop and often times violent. Staff loved us! We worked very hard and loved every minute of it. Our only ask was to have an off-duty SPD officer available to assist if we needed them in the ER from 1800 - 0600. Admin honored our request. Then came the unions and an incredibly incompetent new Chief of our department who decided to hire a bunch of his buddies and fired disgraced former police officers. It went downhill fast and I couldn't leave there fast enough. Still, it was a wonderful place to work at the time and I still recall with very fond memories of my time there.
Jesus was a carpenter but god was an iron worker! St. Louis Mo local 396 here.
Ornamental ironworking? You mean glazing
You could just go be a police officer.
Carpenters build America, Ironworkers reinforce it
6 million pounds. Not tons.
For all you people out there that chime in about how easy hospital security is and they aren't cops bla bla bla. Please go volunteer at a busy hospital. There is a reason lots of hospitals have their own state certified police department. Name any other business that has to do that other than a University..... Cops not only have crazy backup, and protective gear but they also have authority that 99% of the time keeps people in line. These Hospital Officers deal with more shit because people do not respect them because they do not have arrest powers.
I've been an ironworker for a few years now and it sucks. I am Going back to college.
No 3g or 4 g?
How do you get into the Ironworkers apprentice program.hold both hands out with one palm open and the other palm closed ask the dude which hand is the nut in

it has its days but the coin and the workers make it worthwhile
Hey way to go guys… Way to make normal hard working blue collar guys trying to put food on the table feel inferior and think they have to put on a superman cape every morning….. I win the newspaper reading/coffee drinking competition.
Interesting. I'm reading a book about the Duke Lacrosse Rape Case. On how the members of "Take Back the Night" turned into a virtual lynch mob on behalf of a lying prostitute. Really; I Just Got Through reading about them specifically a few minutes ago. One of the Lacrosse players participated in the walk one day. And they wanted to string him up the next! This is standard in our liberal universities of course. Until Proven Innocent: Political Correctness and the Shameful Injustices of the Duke Lacrosse Rape Case by Stuart Taylor Jr. and KC Johnson
iron workers suck ass
You're mom didn't complain about like you do.
I am a sniper in the army and I am leaving after 7 years of service to become a iron worker. It's a great mix of body and brain, stay in shape and work on my tan lol. Great work to all you guys building the world we live in 👍
Adam Sheridan Good trade, I went into civil engineering over 25years ago with a formal education for five years hard time as a grunt. Ballin-in-the-hood now👍🏻
this comment is for the farmers who have sit in organized state senate and lobby amongst themselves for future gain. It is all the same between big city folks to old country folks. It is a enterprise no one wants to sell there land/sit: to a certain price. Republic republic is what this State of Idaho sits on just as dirty and polluted as the snake river. Im not going to capitalize that.
Very smart woman
Been with my man for 4 years now and we will be married 1 year in June! Proud of what my husband does...Him and all Ironworkers work hard! Proud to be a Ironworkers wife....Local 709! ^_^
Ok so what do you want? More apprentices per journeyman or less? You said more apprentices working. IBEW has a great apprenticeship program. I encourage all who want to be apprentices to do it. Then when you turn out run like hell. You do not want to be union. Prevailing wage does not establish our economy, your customers do. Forcing tax payers to pay you more does not help. All we do is borrow money. It is never paid back, just passed on to future generations. And why? So a small percentage of the people (Union) can make more at the expense of everybody else. You have the right to collective bargaining. As do the automakers. But you are not forced to drive union cars by government laws jacking up the prices and that is apparent to anyone who drives by your hall. You even have reserved non union car parking (unless you can afford a Chevy Volt). When you say you want local workers manning the jobs you are saying that if you move somewhere else your ok with them not hiring you because your are from Seattle. Good Old Boys (and Girls) Club. You must be a member to benefit. How about those electricians out in the suburbs? Do you think they like it when some national electrical firm manned by your electricians drives into town. They don't count because they are not in the club! I would like it if my town would hire local contractors too but its hard when Seattle contractors come in armed with Market Recovery Money and political favors. How about those poor people on the border in Idaho? Do you think they want your union contractors coming over there and taking local jobs? You people are living in a fantasy world and will probably end up going the way of the autoworkers. And you deserve it.
I don't know where the #39 come from, meant to say I am so proud of him
My hubby,oh I'm so proud of him,he is a hard worker and takes pride in the work that he does. You guys are awesome!!!!
Apparently electricians don't lean to spell.
lollll u really think ironworker dont use their brain at work.....
Glad I became an electrician and I get to us my brain at work.
With no structure you just have a bunch of wires nobody's sees your work
@@Oba_kwaku maybe you should turn your LIGHTS on so you can SEE
@@Oba_kwaku I can build a building just using wire and conduit. That is the power of electricians.
fah-q said it without thinking
I work Hospital Security in Colorado at one of the busiest ED's. When my friends back in CA found out what i do there, they all assumed it was a cakewalk. After I tell them what I go through, usually they are surprised
Lol. Djeepson, keep trolling big girl. Some of us have Merica to build.
What does this post mean? Go home to the mud hut you came from.
Djeepson: bahaha, yah, who would want to? Not everyone gets to sit around their moms house with a bag of cheetos and an orange dick.
Thank you for your support brothers and sisters - with your solidarity we will prevail!
Suspects went to jail too.
I worked security across the street from HMC, police showed up one night on a knock & talk, they had 4 suspects at their car, and one ran off, so the officers gave chase and told me to keep eye on the other 3. They were getting restless HMC security came and gave me a hand. SPD arrived with the one guy and more SPD was enroute. I got fast backup from HMC. Thanks to both HMC and SPD
@mybill2012 You are wrong about contract security. They will not be better. They may cost less but they will not do a better job. Plus I hate to tell you this but off duty police officers are not good for hospital security. I worked at one hospital that had in house security and right next to that hospital was a hospital of the same size that used off duty police officers. The in house security officer did a much better job. The other hospital with police had no security. Just a fact.
@chrisharper1225 Agreed. One thing I've learned (I work security) is that we are just that--security. People (and guards) tend to forget what security is all about. We prevent things from getting worse. We make sure everything is okay--and when shit hits the fan, then yes the police is called (since they are reactive, and we are proactive).
I wish TH-cam would take away the ability to deny comments for approval. How many fucking lib vids have you tried to post on only to be denied=censored? They cant fucking take it BECAUSE THEY ARE WRONG AND THEY KNOW IT. Its impossible to fight on the side of WRONG so they block you. Its rare that a pro-conservative vid does that shit.
Security officers are not police. As a veteran of both I can tell you without a doubt that these SO don't understand that fact. 95% of your job as an SO in a healthcare facility is customer service. SO are there to assist visitors and patients, enforce hospital policy in a cooperative manner, and protect people from injury, not play cop. And what tools do you need.. your not SWAT.. that isn't your role. SO have to be hands on to be effective and you should have the trainining to be hands on
The University of Washington has a very great reputation in healthcare, science and law enforcement. At the time I worked there, UW had three job classifications in public safety. UW Police (A fully state accredited law enforcement agency), UW Security Officers (Who had the legal authority to go hands on and detain/handcuff) and Security Guards (Who monitored alarms, cameras and had no detainment authority). The pay difference between each job classification was significant.
Sounds like you're winging, rather than just doing your job.
This is very tough job, have to deal with fucking drunks and drug addicts ,dumb homeless people the list goes on and on ,you usually make good money in hospital security compared to just a regular guard but it isnt easy you risk your life. Have you ever see a guy with his brains blown out and dropped off in front of ER you will if you do hospital security. You also have to take dead bodies to the morgue all by yourself .
Sounds like UW!
same with my hospital in Australia, it all comes down to management and money! and thas it, peace
Good ideas!
We need more reports on what the state is planning and what that means to the people who need those services and programs.
i love to climb!!!!!!!!
Harborview ER worst job I ever had exists for under-educated residents to torture homeless people Run by a legendary old doc who is WAAAAAAAAAAAY past his prime
