While all these may sound scary, for me I believe the key takeaway is to ensure that we focus on our general wellbeing. And go for a check regulary at least. This is not a thing of what you don't know cannot kill you but rather what you need to know now and resolve now. Our Doctors did not come to play at all and kudos to Uchenna.

Over time, work on reframing your experience positively, take things one day at a time, and consider the child’s perspective if a bond has been formed. Healing is a personal and gradual process.

Root cause is unchecked availability and accessibility of antibiotics. Its worrisome how things have gone in Nigeria. Some medications should only be available in hospitals and selected pharmacy. Many practitioners do not even understand antibiotic stewardship.

For me, the take home is it begins with “you” Educate yourself and others on why antibiotics or drug abuse in general should be a NO. I also agree that there should be some form of authorization before some of these drugs can be accessed and administered. Good, available and accessible Health Insurance should be the bare minimum for every citizen. At least I hope we get here. Thanks SYNLAB Nigeria for this 🎉❤

I couldn’t agree more with Dr Obe. We need to educate and empower the existing agencies in place to keep these problem at bay. Personally I can’t buy malaria drug without a doctor’s prescription and it is worrisome that any one could walk into a pharmacy to buy antibiotics without prescription. There needs to be some form of policy to eradicate or reduce this and also a form of audit on the antibiotics being supplied and used at the hospitals. I hope to see a change soon because like Dr Obe said, we have a lot to lose. Thanks for this interesting podcast, a lot was learnt 🎉🎉

This is interesting and also very enlightening. I remember seeing a lot of multi drug resistance cases during my internship even in children. It is important that we take this seriously and say no to drug abuse generically.

My sister has it, she was just diagnosed with it, will begin the treatment tomorrow, she has severe body pain, at times she can't even move nor walk, her legs and hands are swollen,and rashes her's is severe it started from thyroid. issues.she has lost a lot of weight, no appetite.
