lol my gosh. Why u all doing mods !? IFYA WANT what your trying for buy a bigger boat. You guys putting in carpet. Building a casting deck. Cmon. Too much weight. It’s simple the boat a trolling motor up front. Gas motor on back. As much hp you can get but the transoms rated for 26 lbs I have a. Coleman 2.6 I’m 210 lbs and I can hit 6 mph on my pelican. And who tips about on purpose? They make hand pump bilge pumps.

I have a question about your Johnson 2.0 hp motor ? Is it a 15" short shaft, or is it the longer 20" ?
The Kipawa has began to come apart for me. I fish the Delta and Clear Lake in heavy vegetation and it has beat it to death. The stock prop is more durable but a little less thrust as a new Kipawa.

It's a Harbor Freight trailer. I think they are around 350 and then registration.
No numbers or measurement tools? You could have at least run your phone GPS to get a feeling of the various speeds at different power inputs. A 10-15% 'power' boost is not the kind of thing you are likely to be able to judge based on feel and not the kind of thing one is likely to care about in actual use.

This is the set up I'm going for. Excellent view. Thank you. Do you use your boat on the river. I'm all about the river. If so can you go upstream against the current. ?
I don't do rivers. You'll need at least a 5- 10 hp gas motor for the current. Anything more than that will flex the plastic. Tight Lines!!

No, they are rivets.
How long did your torlling motor battery last on this trip? And what battery do you use?
With continuous use (trolling) at 50% of max output, it lasts 3 1/2 to 4 hours. If you're just going to spots around smaller lakes, fishing for a bit and moving it can last most of the day. I use the 29 Everstart marine battery from Walmart.

I purchased a kipawa and it is deformed from the factory and 60 thousandths out of balance (measured with dial indicator) My motor vibrates a lot. I purchased the propeller over a year ago, just got around to trying to install it. So it's to late to return, I don't even remember where I ordered it from. I am going to try it see if I can live with it, or get a weedless wedge down the road. There is a 1/8" gap between my motor and prop.

I have a power drive 55 and the weedless wedge has the 1/4 inch gap, I didn't even try it that way, I returned it immediately. Why would they make it that way? I got a weedless wedge 2 and it didn't have the gap. Also the stock prop had no gap.

I see you’re in Chicago. Me too . I have a belly boat but looking to upgrade. I was just at Bass Pro and am thinking of getting the 10’ Pelican. Would it be possible to meet up to see your set up? I just want to be sure before I spend the money.

Thanks for sharing this. Picked up a couple of possible ideas for my Beavertail Final Attack, but will definitely be adding a scupper hole/drain like you did. The Beavertail is a big tub that can only be drained by completely flipping upside-down or by bailing with a can &/or rag.

How fast can you drive the trailer with the boat? Did you have to change the tire to get to a Hwy speed limit or maybe at least 60 mph?
I've done 80+ with the stock set-up. Not a recommendation, but it hangs in there. It's just how I drive. If you go beyond manufacturer specs, it is your own risk.
Hey Shi… Thanks for the video! I just picked up a Rhino Edition today! Can you tell me how/where you manage your rods? I usually have 4-6 rods with me and I’m not sure how they will lay down the side rail with the live well and battery box? Thanks!
I don't have a great rod storage set up. I put in two in mount rod holders towards the back and that works for me because I generally only run two. I'm in the struggle with you when I go outside of that.

What size is your Trailer and pelican bass raider
It's a 10 ft boat on a 4 X 8 trailer.
On my riptide power drive 55, there is no gap between the motor and the prop with the wedge 2. No issues so far with weeds. Also, curious to know if the Kipawa would drain the battery quicker, as there is a fairly good chance it requires more power / amps to run it?
I do believe the Kipawa consumes more. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
Do the wires get hot I have one jus like that and the wires get really hot.
I rewired it with 8 gage and I use a 50 amp breaker which keeps it manageable
How much was the trailer?
Got mine on FB Marketplace but they retail at Harbor freight for $289

Bought one of these on Facebook. Seems heavy. Not sure if it's full of water or what. Is yours heavy?
It is likely there is some water in it. Pull the plugs to drain it for a few hours and stand it on end plugs up in the sun for a couple of days in the heat so it will evaporate out.
Max is about 170 pounds

Try adding extra washers to make the prop flush, so weeds dont get caught in the space
I don't see how washers would close the gap, they would make more gap. You would have to take a dremel tool and grind the very small groove that the drive pin fits into.
