Lana Van Boven, singer-songwriter
United States

I am a singer-songwriter with an opera background. I was trained classically in college and I still do professional choral singing. But my true passion is songwriting and singing folk/bluegrass/Americana. There is nothing more empowering than creating what you love, and our crazy world needs ALL of us to share our light and our creativity. I hope you enjoy these songs, and thank you for listening!
I am also a speech language pathologist (SLP) and I work with neurodivergent kids. I have a youtube channel where I share songs I've written for kid to help them learn to communicate. Check it out here! th-cam.com/channels/HLjZQTlrpXkzh1-gxe13fg.html

Solstice Song
มุมมอง 2172 ปีที่แล้ว
written and performed by Lana Van Boven I wrote this tune for all of us who struggle during the holidays. I hope it brings comfort to someone, at least to know you are not alone in feeling this way. The solstice gives hope because it is the darkest day of the year, and that means the light will return. “Copyright @ Lana Van Boven, 2024. "The light will return". Words to cherish as we suffer the dark days of winter. Thanks. I needed this.
This is the most difficult time; when we feel like all these things SHOULD be happening, and they don't happen for so many of us. So, we grieve what we thought would happen. The real purpose of the solstice is to feel the darkness very deeply and mourn it,. And then...after the grief, we can then welcome the light. I suppose that's the purpose of the Christian version too, in that Christ is supposed to be the ultimate tale of light overcoming the dark. It is so sad that Christianity has become tied to a culture of fake blond happiness.
Definitely hits in a special spot for when it’s SAD season here, but everything appears jolly on the outside. thanks for sharing more light, you’re fantastic ⭐️🙏I especially love the “holding space for light to come”
Thanks so much Emily! I hope we get to connect soon, and that you are able to enjoy some "light" this season:)
