I had minds for a while but now i can’t get the video right.. When i zoom in my video gets blurry really bad
❤ just got mine right now. Thanks for the video . One question can you use the bottom for anything
Thanks for the comment. I use the bottom for melted cheese and fondue but be careful with water when cleaning it.
I have one the same but it has a projector with it and i'm trying to find another of that but with the projector just incase if it breaks or something
Best bet is to look for the projector model on ebay and facebook marketplace.
Excellent review
Thanks for watching.
I just bought this to use with a batty backup in case of emergency. Thanks for the demo.
Great idea. It's always good when we can cook a good burger in an emergency!
*I just got word from a Sony employee that the HDR-CX405 is now discontinued so you guys better get one before the prices go nuts.*

Thanks for the information and detail! How can I get the videos off the card, I did not format first- hope you can help.
You can either buy an SD card reader and plug it into your computers USB port or plug in the USB connector in the hand grip of your handycam into your computer"s USB port and then open the handycam display screen to alert your computer that you are not ying to charge the camera battery but instead want to view / transfer files onto a folder on your computer. You can transfer files onto your phone with a card reader with the appropriate plug such as lightning or USB-C plug whichever your phone has. Or you can insert the SD card into your computers SD card slot...if your computer has a slot for a Micro SD card then pop it right in. If your computer has a slot for a standard size postage stamp size SD card then place your micro SD card into an micro to standard SD card adapter and then insert into your computer. I have now listed several ways to accomplish what you want to do.
I like the cx405 Was $225 But now $300 Unlikely to buy at $300
I just purchased another one for $229.00 in Sept 24, 2024. You need to shop around at various sellers as I think Sony may have just recently discontinued the model. The information in my videos is accurate at the time I post the video. If you are watching the video months after it was posted then yes there can be market changes.
@@productreviewstv812 hear you Have Nikon coolpix p510 a 42x telephoto with stabilation 1080p 30fps video so at least as good as 405 Would have bought at $225. $75 more pass
Thank you for your excellent video! Do you have a source for the plastic cold shoe mount adapter with the metal leaf springs? I have searched eBay and the Internet several times to no avail. There are plenty of aluminum SmallRig and Neewer adapters but they do not appear to have the metal leaf springs.
Use this search term on ebay: "Flash Cold Hot Shoe Bracket Mount Adapter 1/4" Screw for Studio Speedight Y.t2"
@@productreviewstv812 Thank You! I knew there was a warehouse full of them somewhere in China.
Can i record a smartboard screen clearly with this camera
I have not tried that.
Hello, hey, what type of filter does the camera have and is it only a threaded filter?
The camera does not come from the factory with any filter.
Good review
I love what u did with this and i just got 1 and attempting to imitate your build. Can you please give me tips on how to add the cover that you glued on. How did you know it was straight and flat? In case i want to add other lenses to it without warping the shot
I think you are speaking of the Step-up-ring. Just center it by eye and stand the camera up with the step-up ring facing downward while the epoxy dries.
Did you that same camera to film this video?? If not, what camera did you use?
No, I only have one of these camcorders. For this video I used a Canon M50 first version.
I was curious is having the lens filter caused any glares in the footage since the filter has some space between the lens and filter.
I haven't noticed any yet but I'm sure as with most cameras if you get into specific lighting situations it could happen.
Alat yang hebat.
Saya suka ini, bagaimana trik agar mengurangi goyangan ketika memperbesar sorotan dengan menggunakan remote control.dan saya tertarik bagaimana trik menggunakan polarize.
what is micro usb for on the camera? great video btw
The Multi port? For external recording device or remote control.
@@productreviewstv812 ohh okay thanks a lot
Can you make a video where show how you did those modifications?
Maybe if I start a How-To channel. This channel is primarily for product review.
My husband went to Walmart and purchased 2 of these My Mini Noodle Cookers. 1 for our MOTORCOACH and 1 for our CONVERSION VAN. I had a Silicone skillet handle sleeve for use with LODGE CAST IRON, tried it on the pot handle of tge My Mini and it fits really well. You do need to hold it firmly since the MY MINI POT'S HANDLE IS INSIDE OF THE LODGE SILICONE HANDLE SLEEVE. YOU CAN FEEL WHERE THE MY MINI HANDLE IS INSIDE OF THE SLEEVE... IMPORTANT TO HOLD ONTO IT THERE! Doing it makes it much less likely to burn your fingertips when using the handle. Also, the SOLO STOVE 900 POT fits perfectly on the Grill Plate of the Cooker. More volume for more cooking options! Love ❤ these little Mini appliances, ESPECIALLY this cooker!
Thanks for your input!
Super detailed, thank you for your review!!
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Wonderful. I was holding back getting this camcorder specifically because I want the ability to attach filter. I think this is a major omission by Sony. I just KNEW someone else had cracked the nut on how to do this. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment.
Hello, again my friend. Well, that is very clever. I see that you have been busy since last time when I mentioned that you should do a video that shows how you modified the CX405 lens so that you can attach lens filters over the lens. Still, don't forget my last request. How to use a cell phone or any other external mic system record and edit your sound rather than the on camera mic.
th-cam.com/video/zRSNY3K80Sg/w-d-xo.html
how do you add the polarizer?
It's described in another video called tips, tricks & modifications.
@@productreviewstv812 thanks!
I wish we could see the cord length and type of plug on these videos, these models as shown in many pictures with no cord in site...are they detachable ? Do I need an adapter ?
They are not detachable. Standard U.S. 2 prong plug with a cord about 2 feet in length.
Thank you for the tips and tricks! Any link you could provide for the lanyard would be genuinely appreciated. Thanks again!
There are a multitude of 'wrist lanyards" available on Amazon.
I have never tried to use my cell phone to record the audio. It sounds good. Do a video on how to do that. Or by using any other external recording device. I have a pretty good idea of how to do it. I have the app for recording on my phone. I think as you shoot start the phone recorder and record the desired sound. Then in editing drop the video and phone recording on the editing tracks. Take out the sound for the video by turning the volume off using the controls in the edit and turn the volume on the phone track up, using the controls in the editor, sync them. But still. You should make a video about it. A lot of people would like to know how to do that.
This channel is r3eserved for reviewing products. It's easy to find instructional videos on the topis you want here on youtube.
At the end of the first portion of this video their is a message that tells you how to run the CX405 camcorder using an external power source such as an USB Battery to run the camcorder for a very long time. You can also use a "Power Bank" phone charger by connecting the power cable mounted on the side of the camcorder to the "Power Bank" using the supplied cables that come with the camcorder. I have recorded and continue to record and use this method to record 8hrs. with no problem. I just put the "Power Bank" in a little pouch or fannie pouch and hang it on the side of the tripod or if i am hand shooting I just put the fannie pouch on with the "Power Bank" in it or I will put the "Power Bank" in my front or rear pocket. You can get a good "Power Bank" for $20.00 at any store that carry them.
You plug a USB extension cable into the USB cable that comes out of the hand grip and also enable USB power in the camera's menu.
Thank you for reviewing and making this video. I am considering getting one, because I have food allergies and cook a lot of my own food when I travel.
So does this camcorder have nightvision? Where the visuals are green in lowlight
No, it does not have that feature.
My brother, please help a friend out. I got this camera, it was for livestreaming, capturing image form the hmdi output. The quality I get is really really bad, its anusable, worse them a surveillance camera. Is this how it supposed to work, I did a factory reset, set to 1080p but it is still awefull. Its good when i record and play back. The HMDI output, is supossed to give a good image quality?
You may want to contact Sony to see if you are doing it correctly.
How do I get the date and time to show up on the video that I share with others?
I don't think that is an option.
@@productreviewstv812 OMG - then WHAT is the purpose of setting the date and time in the first place? HUGE design flaw. If you are right, then I'm sending it back.
I just got off the phone with SONY. No date/time stamp option on the HDR-CX405. None of their consumer cameras has that option, according to the customer service rep. I'm done with SONY.
@@productreviewstv812 Is there a SONY Handicam that DOES record the date and time on the recorded video images?
Loved this format and content. Those that don't like it move on 👍👍😆
Thanks for the comment.
Ok out of the blue and if you see this ... and I know you can't speak to this for every HDR handycam ... so .... are there threads on the HDRs that allow an adapter and or lenses to be added on .. IE wide angle or telephoto thanks
If your camera is not threaded on the front you can do the mod in this video with a step-up ring.
Great Vid! But how did you do all these modifications?
I'll have to do a video on that when I'm not working my full-time job so much.
@@productreviewstv812 Would be great if you could find the time to show us. Those modifications seem to be very useful to enhance the power of this great little cam.
Excellent video. Thank you. I have questions about the memory card. 1) how many minutes of HIGH quality moving video can be stored on it? 2) does the camera allow for Date/Time stamping? This will be my home movie camera: family events, etc and I will want to see the date/time on screen when I share these movies with others. 3) can I re-record over the memory card? 4) does the camera come with a memory card? 5) in order to transfer the movies to my desktop iMac, do I need to install software on my desktop? Thanks again!
How much time you can get from your memory card depends on the size of your memory card, how many gigabytes and yes, you can record over them.
@@productreviewstv812 Thanks
I bought the camera and set the date/time. How do I get it to appear on my recorded material?
Can the recording (zoom/start/stop) of this camera be controlled by an app on smartphone (android)?
No, it cannot because this particular camera does not have Wi-Fi or NFC
just picked one of these up! The only problem is that i csnt seem to export the actual videos to my computer or iphone, can anyone help?
for computer transfer there is a cable that comers with the camera or you can insert the microSD card in your computer.
How to transfer to android phone?
What does the multi port do on the camera?
I use it for the remote control.
Wow !!!! No bacon 😮 Gotta have bacon !!!!!
My wife ate all the bacon.
@@productreviewstv812😮
Great review! Do you know if there is a way to get an on-screen video counter while recording so you can see how long you have been filming?
Option not available.
Probably good for use with a power bank during an electrical outage.
I agree
It's only 240 watts, so it would be perfect!
What is the best setting to get the most best quality?
XAVCS and use a tripod with remote control.
I have this I brought my mother 1 and I brought me 2 just in case the other1 burns out been using my My Mini Cooker For Over A year now I love love it🤩 Kudos For The Inventor🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the comment!
Good idea to use a 49mm UV to protect the lens, even if you go nowhere near the sea the open/close shutter cover on these cameras is not great & dust will get through wherever you are.. but you should do this as soon as possible and epoxying a step-up ring onto your new camcorder will kill the warranty! A better way of doing it is to get a cheap 49mm filter & remove the glass.. the filter ring should be tight push-fit onto the front (may need to file inside of filter slightly or maybe not), allowing you to use 49mm filters without invalidating your warranty.
I was not concerned about the warrant on my camera.
tank my freind you make my day obrigado
Thank You.
These are actually very good! I was pleasantly surprised.
Thank you for commenting.
