The "pimped out girl" makes the video's and thumbnails. Whomp whomp

Let's avoid this type of language around here, as said Kim makes the videos and thumbnails. There is no such thing as pimping out, and "the bearded dude" is simply 50% of the cast for our sailing channel. Thank you for viewing, but let's keep the comments a bit more friendly next time.

Well, it works! It does make the roll motion more comfortable, BUT: it a big heavy thing on a small boat, so we decided to repurpose the materials elsewhere. Haven't needed it since also...

Not sure they did, but I think the coastguard will at some point. He is sailing under dutch flag, but was italian. The boat was in a poor state of maintenance, so his paperwork will probably raise questions. But having a guest made it all worth while!

hey T84948, if the conditions are like ours you will manage just fine :) however: once you get into October the depressions over the atlantic start to form, we wanted to cross in the end of september but we got caught out by a covid infection on board, halting our departure. After that we saw an endless string of depressions that lasted for months. So the window we took was not ideal, but it was our best option given the season. So in short: not impossible, but the bay does not adhere to your sailing schedule in fall/winter ;) also keep in mind a depression will leave the crossing with dangerous waves for days after strong winds die, making the windows even shorter. So my advice: if you can speed up the english channel part, then I would definately do so.

Hey Jeff, thanks for your comment! We are very happy with the drone as well :) We have a little homemade doohickey made out of velcro and some rope cover, which we mount on the body of the drone so it is easier to catch and hold on while grabbing it. Taking off is either from the solar panels or just the palm of our hand.

Thank you! Yeah it was a bit tricky, Pace is also a boat that has it's own plan when going astern 🤣 but we learned, we need quite a big run up, max 20° of rudder and NO prop when turning. More modern boats are a little more forgiving in this aspect, but once you get a feel for it it's fine 😁

I noticed that it was doing it's own thing, but as you said it's all about knowing your own boat as they're all different. I take it Pace has a long keel to behave like that? It's getting that balance right to get the water moving over the rudder but not too fast in case it all goes wrong 😱. You're doing absolutely fantastic as far as I'm concerned 😄. T

Thanks Terry! It was a lovely sail ❤ We can definitely ask them when we run into them again, we talk to them daily but we are about 500 miles further down in the med haha. The boat is very interesting in construction and interior (the latter being custom built by the previous owner). It even has a bathtub!

I saw milwaukee electric tools has these. They pull nuts of truck wheels with these.

That is a cool idea, but this winter we'll be changing our whole anchoring setup from chain locker to roller and windlass 😄 the way it is now, is absolutely terrible.

Die zitten er zeker wel, we zijn niet gek ;) of ik moet Kim gaan controleren haha! En butyltape is echt veel prettiger en betrouwbaarder dan sika. Sika gebruiken we alleen onder de waterlijn of in de buurt van diesel. Via amazon goedkoop te krijgen.

Jaartallen zijn nog oke, in t onderhoudslog staat er een notitie. Zien er prima uit verder. Over 2 jaar worden ze vervangen.

Well, we should have! Rutger was ok till he started fixing something hunched over for a while, that triggered it. In Spain we got some that is called "Biodramina" which is absolutely fantastic, do keep in mind you take the ones WITH cafeïne or you'll be KO for very long! Seasickness is odd, Rutger usually doesn't take anything unless he knows he'll be sailing in 3/4 meter swells on the beam or something. Kim usually takes either just a travel pill or the Biodramina. And besides that: a good strict watch schedule helps a lot, once you lay down it's usually gone and you get atleast 2.5 hours of relief 😀
