I headbanged for 6 hours at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert
Out of the 6-hour tribute concert, I managed to capture some unforgettable moments. This recap is some of my favorite highlights that include The Foo Fighters playing alongside Taylor's musical friends and idols. I tried to stay still enough to record but for some songs, I couldn't help but jump, sing, and thrash my neck. I can't wait to always rewatch this unrepeatable show when I am older and relive the music.

Avoiding Burnout in Tech (Engineer's Experience)
มุมมอง 942 ปีที่แล้ว
I always thought I had to live to work. So from 2018 to the beginning of 2020 I put all I had into a new job and that led to me experiencing burnout. Three months later I started (2) new gigs, both remote, that I didn’t want to experience burnout from. SO I decided to try something different... ⏳ Stamps 0:00 // Burnout Experience 3:46 // 1st thing I tried 4:32 // 2nd thing I tried 6:16 // 3rd t...

Studying different sectors of Electrical Engineering | What jobs are out there? What is in demand?
มุมมอง 1773 ปีที่แล้ว
Like I mentioned in this video, electrical engineering is very broad and as students, we are able to dive into multiple sectors to study but have no idea what awaits us in the real world. Jobs are dynamic and evolve rather quickly in the EE world. But if you are interested in areas such as power, controls, and computer programming then I hope this video can help paint a clearer picture. I was s...
How hard is the PE Exam for Electrical Engineers? When should you take it and is it worth it?
มุมมอง 4.1K3 ปีที่แล้ว
The PE exam is the hardest exam you will ever encounter as an engineer! In this video, I spoke a little about what you can expect when looking into the Professional Engineering (PE) exam. In my first crack at this exam, I spent over $2,000 on it and I felt so lost and confused from the multiple hour-long videos for one topic. I used Testmasters’ PE on-demand course but quickly hated it due to h...

Being a freelance engineering writer has been life-changing! I spent a year writing after working hours and I made over $10,000 on the side. ✍️💰 In this video, I talked about how I became a writer and how I truly believe it is a great side hustle for engineers and graduate engineers. Seeing everyone daytrade, flip houses, rent-out dwellings and sell online is all I saw, but freelance writing is...
Does GPA matter as an Engineering Student? | About to graduate with no Internship
มุมมอง 3233 ปีที่แล้ว
I started with a 2.4 GPA and graduated with a 3.23! It was hell but did those numbers matter to my new employer? The short answer is no, it didn't matter. My employer at the time only cared that I was familiar with performing analysis using Matlab. In this video, I share my experience with not having any internships up until my final semester in college and how my worries over GPA prevented me ...
Why I became an Electrical Engineer
มุมมอง 773 ปีที่แล้ว
From studying music for 2 years to studying engineering, how hard can it be??? 🤯🤯🤯 It was difficult af!!! But, after changing my studying blueprint I was able to get my bachelors’ degree in electrical engineering. With this being my first video on my new channel, I thought it would be appropriate to talk about why I became an engineer and how things could have gone in a very different direction...

Im going to take the PE power exam next month. The thing im struggling with is standards since i dont know the layout. Do they provide the WHOLE book of standards or only snips? Im worried that i wont be able to find things if there are 500 results when searching for one thing.

Growing up, the father of a friend of mine was the city engineer. One day, a group of us were getting a ride someplace and somehow the topic of what field were we all considering and myself and one other guy mentioned engineering. He then gave us the best advice ever and that was to take the EIT and PE exams as soon as possible after graduating. He said he had his PE, never actually needed it in his career path, but it was the sort of thing that if he did need it, it was in his back pocket. So I followed that advice and took the EIT during my final semester in school. I took the PE exam as soon as possible after graduating. In my case (CA), I think I had to wait for the experience time before taking the exam. But it's an exam that requires "test taking" skills to a great degree. That's one thing you start to lose after graduating. It's mainly about time management and picking the right questions to answer. I enrolled in an in person prep class and that was totally worth it. In fact, I ended up copying down all the exam test questions, along with the solutions and sent that back to the place running the prep class. They hired me the following year to teach the class. I've never needed my PE license but it was good to have and had my career path taken a different path, it would have been important to have. I started out in power and control systems but then moved more into electronics and software development and then started my own design and mfg. business the last 23 years.

Hello, hope you are doing well. I have a question for you, and I would appreciate your response as I have been searching for an answer. I am an international student at Carleton University and currently pursuing a Master's degree in Business Analytics. However, I have been working in the banking industry for ten years in my home country, and I have a BBA and MBA. Despite my experience, I am interested in changing my career path to electrical engineering, a field that has always interested me since my childhood. Therefore, I am considering enrolling in a two-year diploma program in electrical engineering at Algonquin College instead of continuing my Master's program. I would like to know if this is a logical

    • @wattupohms956
      @wattupohms956 ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks for the comment! Sorry, it took so long for me to get back to you. The industry has changed a lot in the last few years (IMO). Companies cared for a solid 4-year degree to get into an Electrical engineering role, but I am working with many non-degree team members and they are killing it! As long as you show your interest in the field and demonstrate that you are willing to learn more, and put in the work, these companies should consider you. So, I say the 2-year plan can definitely land several electrical engineering/energy/telecom/wireless opportunities. PLUS, your finance background sounds impressive enough on its' own, that will even amplify your resume in the tech/Engr industry. Best of luck on the journey, and thanks for stopping by with your questions!

Greetings! Use this NCEES: ncees.org/engineering/ Through this link you can select any state within the US or any country outside of the US that you plan to be working in with the EIT license. After that click the drop down box and select 'FE' as the exam you want to take. After that it will have you register 👍Thanks for commenting, let me know if you have other questions, best of luck!!
