Top 5 reasons to learn Webflow vs Squarespace and Showit | Web designer's review Hey, brand & web designers! Are you wondering how to find the right website platform for you? This video breaks down the top reasons to learn Webflow vs Squarespace and Showit. I’m going to share my experience with all 3 and share what I think is the best website builder in 2023. I’m sharing my experience as a bran...
Super informative & helpful! Thank you -and really nicely made video : )
Great video-just subscribed!
This is so helpful, definitely using this in my next webflow build. It not only helps the designer/builder but also art directors to know we are working on things even though they don't see much progress.
Instant subscribe. Not enough videos covering stuff like this. You're the best!
A lot of advices. Your process is very nice and well explained. Thank you for sharing your workflow.
This was incredibly helpful. Thank you so much!
Yup! Grid is a good thing.
Thanks for sharing this is very helpful for all of us that tend to work on these things alone. Appreciate it.
Thank you for sharing this Madz. In all honesty, I’m in a very similar position as you were. I’m 4 years into Webflow but still don’t have a clue of how to develop my business. I’m trying new things. Hopefully something will click! 😊
One more question, lol... is there any reason someone would still use Showit for a client instead of Webflow?
Lots of great points to consider here, thank you!! Wanted to see if you could clarify, are there situations where Squarespace actually might be the best fit for a client? Also, how does pricing work for Webflow from the client perspective... what will their ongoing cost be? If they want to use bluehost to host their site and it's built on Webflow, is that an option? Again, awesome video, thank you!! :D
Yes! My clients all pay for their own hosting via something like bluehost or godaddy. Then I build the site on Webflow, transfer it over to their account, and they are in charge of their monthly Webflow payments. It will vary depending on their features. Yes, there are situations where Squarespace would be a better fit. If they are already comfortable with the platform and want to stay. If they have a ton of content already over there and don't have the budget to make the switch (exporting can be tricky with Sqspace). Or if they want something that feels as manageable as possible for them to edit on their own, more than creative design/layout. All about what they value in the process and in their website in general.
Can’t you just use WebP for images with Webflow? I thought it was compatible with Webflow.
yes, you can now! But at the time of this video it either hadn't come out yet or justtt did. Working on an update vid to this with some great new changes Webflow has made.
thank you.i love webflow and quickly jumped to a paid plan for no limits or restrictions.ive been getting more into grids and didnt realize the differences other than they have divs and have quick predetermind styling.this helps alot.also been looking for more grid animations as well.thanks again.
Very helpful video, love the insights. I am currently restructuring and in the same place as you were, migrating my skills from Wordpress to another platform. You totally convinced me to give Webflow a try! Thanks a lot :)
I relate to too much of this 😂
Great video Maddie, this has spoken directly to me as well with focussing too much on product / service features rather than just coming up with a killer offer for the client. One of the things I struggle with is I want to focus on building the best, most bespoke client sites I can, but often this means it's less profitable. I don't like using Relume because it degrades my skills, but it's definitely way more profitable. There's a priority conflict here and one i'm still figuring out.
I feel that struggle! And I'm the same as you, preferring to build pretty custom and tailored sites for my clients. I mainly use Relume to build the bones of my site & to create a clear system. But then I customize pretty heavily on top of that which allows me to land somewhere in the middle to balance speed & customizations. If raising your prices isn't feeling right, then I'd be curious where you can make some repeatable systems in your biz to help with profitability. Good luck!
@@studiomadz Love this approach. Business focussed but also keeps your skills nice and sharp and projects unique.
Really nice video, would love to see a full build video with a fairly complex layout. I've just started using Webflow and feel like I'm hacking my site together and the style naming is even more haphazard 😅
Thanks for sharing! So helpful for those new to this industry to hear about the ups and downs! Just got your Webflow playbook and it is an amazing resource, highly recommend anyone interested in being a freelance web designer get it too! Hi, is the checklist still available? it takes me to 502 Bad Gateway error
Hey there! Yes it is. The links in the email seem to be working on my end. But if you're still having trouble send me an email at hello@studiomadz.com and I'll send you the link manually.
guy webflow designers will get many more clicks from women, if only they open their shirt and show off their chest hair. There should be spray on chest hair available from somewhere.
This is so thorough! I'm a newbie to Webflow and actually trying to decide if I start learning Webflow or if I go with Wordpress and Bricks Builder (I love coding). I wanted to see how much you charge for 1 on 1 help, but your link in your description isn't working! Just giving you a heads up. Thanks again for the content, I'll be a subscriber no matter which builder I end up working with!
Hey Jessa! That's awesome. Would love to help you make that decision if you're interested. Here is a link to my 'Project Power Hour' sessions www.studiomadz.com/project-power-hour

Fantastic video! Watched it till the end and learned a lot from you. Thank you! I'd love to see a video from you explaining how exactly you use Relume Kit to pre-build your sites in Figma. :)
Amazing video, loved it !! Keep posting more content 💪🏼🙏🏼
Hey I'm enjoying your content a lot and implementing your tips into my own design workflows. Can I ask what the heck camera are you using?? That video looks amazing!
Excellent video and workflow explanation, thanks Maddie. Subscribed.
very nice content, however we do not receive mail for the fichie notion!
this is great maddie. i've not adopted Relume yet, usually making everything custom and I have my own methods, but, I've been interested in the library and it's awesome to see someone knowledgeable go into depth in their whole process with it.
Girl, this was SO good and exactly what I needed to see. You are extremely clear, relatable and know your shit. I'm so glad I stumbled onto your video today, I will be TH-cam stalking you now! 😂 I have a tiny bit of experience with Webflow and have been checking out all the different platforms. You just made my platform choice for me. Thanks for sharing!

OMG Maddie you are an absolute Fox 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Your journey is inspirational, Keep it coming!
Thank you!! More on its way 🎉
Have you mentioned in any video if you design only in Webflow? Do you use something like Figma in your process?
@@SRC503 Yes I start with Figma :) I have a longer workflow video that goes in-depth on every step I take.
Hello Maddie, great video! Just got one question, when the site is finished and I send to the client, they will still have to pay a montlhy fee to webflow? So their cost will be what I charge for the site + monthly fee forever, that is very hard to sell to a client, specially with webflow prices. How do you do it
Hey there! No matter what website platform they use, there is going to be a monthly cost associated with it, which is standard practice for the client to handle. If they aren't in a place to make an additional investment for designer/developer to help them build, that's totally understandable, but just means they aren't the right fit for you. They can always DIY their site, but the cost will be their time & attention. You offer valuable expertise, insight, and skill, and with the right clients, that's worth paying for.
Roughly 40 minutes of pure high-value content, thank you very much for sharing, new subscriber!
Learned so much from this. Thank you, Madie.
Thank you so much, Maddie! Your video and check list is so helpful for Webflow beginners! I wish you that The Universe will return positive energy to you in double size!
Hey Maddie! How are you, I just found your channel. Have you stop making videos? I want to be a brand and web designer like you. I genuinely want to help people and their business while making money. I was thinking of starting with Squarespace but now you’re kinda changing my mind. I have no code or design skills
Hey there! Haha fair question, but more videos are on the way I promise. That's awesome you want to dive into brand & web. Its a super rewarding career. If you've never built a website before, I do think there is value in starting with more of a DIY tool (like Squarespace or Wix) just to understand some basics of web design, responsiveness, design principles, etc. and be able to start creating sooner. You may outgrow it quickly and then feel ready for a truly custom option like Webflow. Totally depends on your goals and where you are starting from.
@@studiomadz Thank you so much for the advice Maddie. I will start with the DIY stuff like you suggest. Can’t wait for your videos on brand and web design
Thanks for the insight! Subscribed!
