Great job, big sister. I'm super proud of you and all that you're doing. My personal opinion is, just find someone with whom you have a sync. For me, I was never interested in marrying or being in a relationship with an older woman. I am only 2 years older than my wife, and we sync well. Just find what works best for you. There is no one-size-fits-all here.

This is the age of information and what drives information is communication. The different generations communicate differently hence when the age difference is very much it can lead to conflict.

There are actually no rules to this stuff! Personally I find myself being attracted to the older guys and find the younger ones a bit dramatic. 5 -12yrs gap isn't bad

I believe that age should not be considered a prerequisite as long as both individuals are of consenting age. Love is a powerful emotion, which we shouldn’t let societal perceptions deprive us of.

Physical abuse no matter the provocation is totally unacceptable. it is better to end a relationship once you sense the likelihood of a violent turn. That said, here are other facts to consider. In marriage, there is no such thing as privacy because it is stated out rightly from the on-set that the two shall become one. The much you can get therefore is what I prefer to call, "negotiated privacy". Passwording your phone and your partner's obsession with going through your phone is a red flag, indicative that a trust issue is beginning to develop between you two. Try revisiting the past to identify the origins of this disconnect you're experiencing. Preferably, engage your partner in this process. Both of you should seat down and have a real conversation. Studies have it that the biggest problem in relationships stem from the lack of effective communication. Be deliberate about bridging the relational gaps with your partner. Rather than play the victim, try being a stakeholder in your marriage, it is yours, own it.
