How To Clean a Flat Top
มุมมอง 324K5 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is a demonstration on how to properly clean or restore a flattop grill. It is important to keep your equipment clean for sanitary and safety reasons. All you will need is -Grill Brick -Oil -Soapy Water -Two Towels -Grill Pad w/ Handle Special Thanks to Medcorp and Ron Simon
That’s a beautiful cooktop. They’re so awesome.
Thank you for taking the time to make this amazing video.
Hi what brand and model is this griddle
Did you do the whole thing while it was at 200°F? Or turn off for the final water and oil? Love it btw!
That grill didn’t look dirty to begin with.
There is a variety of opinions others said to me in jobs clean it hot others cold
On stainless steel, keep your strokes uniform and in one direction to prevent scratches from forming. But do the same steps.
What could you use instead of the "brick"... would a green scrubbing pad do ... Also can I ask what oil you use... cheers ppl 👍
Get a grill brick if you have a cold rolled steel flat top.
It’s was already clean so what is the point of the video
Heard
What kind of oil is best to use to grease the top at the end of cleaning?
Canola oil
Do you use any chemicals or just soapy water? Do people use sodium carbonate for cleaning flat tops?
Jesus Christ! What are Ya'll trying to do? Return this to the store or something? I mean I understand you want a clean grill but damn..
Where did you find the block?
It's a grill brick. You can find them everywhere.

You did not season grill.
Dude, you need a mic and kill the music. Can't understand a word you're saying. Otherwise, really good content.
you need better phone with a good speaker. I heard everything perfectly 😂
Wish more places took this kind of care and pride with cleanliness. The two flat tops where I work have probably never been this clean since they got them. I want to spend a day getting them back to a decent standard.
That's the old, hard way. Use lemon juice, a gallon of water. It's gets it cleaner.
whats that stone looking thing used for scrubbing?
0:30 grill brick. Or pumice stone.
Best tutorial on the net. 3 million small business owners all asking this question
Hope that's not just any soap. That is food safe soap?
Now that is CLEAN! Noice ❤️
The amount of pride I felt as a Baltimore native when the Get High beat came in 😊 🧡🖤President Davo💜🖤
Amazing work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What did yall cook that day? Couple burgers? 😂 that grill wasn't hardly dirty
Should be required viewing for any new hire....
Scotch Brite and ice. No messy grill brick, no oily mess, just cool off with ice and scrub. Elbow grease gets it done in 5 minutes.
How many times can you use the grill brink before tossing it in the trash?
You can keep using it until it's almost gone.
until it breaks in your while cleaning, keeps you on the edge,
Surface still laced with chemicals. Didn't rinse thoroughly.

Hi, this video really helped. Wonder if you could tell me what material your grill plate is made of?
Maybe iron? Because it has lots darkness..
I make this a lot. So good with soy!
Looks yummy
looks absolutely delicious right now. Got that au jus sauce thing going I never thought of that I'm definitely going to try that next time.
Oil isn’t cheap. Not wasting oil to clean a griddle.
is this chrome plate?
ofcourse not
On break everything discreet and private a client bought a multiple car on break I signed a multi-million dollar car ownership deal amount we forgot a client paid all bills restocking gas and products and materials a client paid all bills till next year we dropped 2 cents we not a slave we blessed
I worked in a kitchen with a Mexican sous chef who could get it that clean in two steps. I could never get it down below three steps, but hey, I didn't have have 30 years of cooking experience.
Just be proud you are attentive and care about cleanliness. That’s more important than how many steps it takes. Would rather do it right the first time around.
How would this cleaning process work with a heavy use grill that is blackened all over? Can't see just the brick taking everything thing off without grill cleaner.
I worked in a diner where the two griddles would get nearly black by the end of the day. A grill brick got them back to looking like stainless steal easily. Though the method shown in the video is weird. It's better to do straight up and down motions and not the weird circle scrubbing in the video.
What oil did you use?
Please where did u get the plastic scrapper need one for work...everyone i try keeps melting
Thank you!
Did you turn off the grill and wait a few minutes before you use the grill brick or was the the grill on the whole time when you were scrapping it?
I’d like to know this as well
It looks like it is on. There is steam coming up from the water when it hits the griddle.
@@ryancappo generally keep the temp around 250 to 300
I have usef Ecolab high temp cleaner and it did a great job of cleaning 4 yr old baked grill but i used 2 32oz bottles and took me like 2hrs to get it all cleaned
When the background music is too loud it becomes foreground music. Couldn't hear a thing you said at the end of the video.
Really liked the presentation. Towards the end of the video it was hard to hear the articulation of the narration. The amplified frequencies of the music was covering his voice. Maybe it's just my phone's speakers?
"articulation of the narration" "amplified frequencies" ...holy shit get some pussy immediately.
On break peace and quietness, quick efficient cleaning always keep it clean. Need a break for cleaning so busy with customers working I have my own restaurant cleaning need a break for cleaning take the break. Always restocked all products and materials always have freash meat im restocking products and materials is important. Freash meat is important for customers customers want their food ready quick and fast waiting not good for the customers. Restaurant fixing preparing food their is a time limited when serving the customers exchanging grease is important clean grease is also important. Taking out the grease is important when taking out grease also should be done in a timely manner emptying trash is important it should be done in a timly manner. The grease bucket never fill a grease bucket all the way to the rim because it becomes heavy to take out. Light is better the sink when sanitizer when letting out sanitize water open it up crack it slow. Working with lady clients when my team work together as a team cleaning becomes easy meet a client on break earlier never got upset in years. I signed a muti-billion dollar contract fast cleaning methods for Resturants. Everything confidential discreet private all contracts are private at a buffet sweet caramel pie travels are important bought all employees cars.
