USAF Water Survival Training at Fairchild AFB

A brief look at the operations conducted at the USAF Water Survival Training facility. Courses include Over Water Emergency Parachute Training, Under Water Egress and Water Survival.
What does the emergency parachute training include? I know water survival is training in the use of life rafts and being rescued by a helicopter and underwater egress training is exactly what it sounds like.
I did all of this at 40 years old at Fairchild. Thank you for allowing me to partake and I will never forget these memories.
With the drag machine did it also drop you from higher up? And what about the parachute on top of you did you wear a helmet during that and what was included in each of the three courses?
First thing a pilot teaches me is swimming as a little girl as my orphan cousin loving my daddy for all that travel on small jets across the country. Fun it is.
That is a preference family to teach youngins.
I leave to do this very soon. Kinda excited honestly
Is there a waiting list to get into SERE training?
I leave June 18th
What they don't show is the 12hrs of CBTS you just found out about the night before.

I love swimming and being in water, but this honestly looks terrifying. Only thing I wouldn’t like about SERE training 😂

Omg I am a civilian, my 8 year old & I came across a water survival drill in a book we were reading and wanted to see it in action. I have even MORE respect for you guys than ever before. You are truly our heroes!

I did when I was a loadmaster from 1983-1988.

I don't recall this when I went to SERE, as a loadmaster in 1978. Long time ago. Then, it was called "survival School."
When i was traing here it was really hard u would have to escape and they would drop u it was hard

Been there done that and yes I still have the t-shirt( you can only buy at graduation day) from 1987. It was call survival school when I went.
My fucking recruiter just can't schedule me a PAST date, jerk.

I remember doing this in SERE school. It was awesome!!!
I was a strong swimmer, knew exactly what was going to happen, knew I was in a pool...still ended up hyperventilating. Really did a great job with the simulation.

Upgrade Pilot Training? I think it's Undergraduate Pilot Training. And it's after from what I've heard.
Unless your UPT includes over-water flying.
