not a bad run, gonna give some pointers though to a fellow speedrunner :3 overall: work on movement: learn to strafe, dont overuse abh until you know how to use it very well, (even im guilty of not doing that) some places to use it, like the long catwalk in e02, are great, even for people who are just learning to speedrun. learn the skips, and practice until you get semi consistent with most-- if not all of them. chamber 5: use a portal in order to get to the orange portal faster, then portal straight across and try to throw that cube onto the button. then, go back through the blue portal and shoot underneath the other cube to grab it and throw it onto the other button. when you have access to literally teleporting, you wanna cut down on physical movement as much as you can chambers 6 and 7 are huge time saves once you get the skips down, and theyre not too hard to learn, just practice them a bit. chamber 8: I noticed you were about to do the skip, but backed off. Even if you dont necessarily save any time using it compared to the intended solution, its good to get practice so once you get better you can do it quicker, never be afraid to use quick saves/loads. chamber 9: you can shoot a portal underneath the open door in order to skip the cube altogether, just go through the portal while it's under the door, then jump to the top of the orange portal and youll pop out on the other side of the door chamber 10: learn to afh, its the same as abh, except you cant get the speed normally, and you hold S while jumping instead of nothing. itll save you time walking through long hallways after portal flings, and also you can skip the second time the portalable walls move by jumping into the orange portal from the same level as it, youll go right back into the portal with more speed. chamber 11: this skip is really easy, and you dont have to wait for the energy ball to activate the platform, chamber 12: look at the wall in order to make it move, you always wanna look that direction until it starts moving. that throw is hard, and i do not blame you for going intended route at all. it just takes a lot of practice. again, quick saves/loads are your best friend chamber 14: that skip also saves a bunch of time, but theres a wayy quicker way to do it. not bad though chamber 16: theres a second portal bump you can do to get into the second-to-last room with the 3 turrets. I grab the closest turret, use it to block bullets from the far one and throw it onto the far one to kill it, then portal underneath the last turret before standing on the button and portaling through the door. chamber 18: if you grab the camera in the big turret room, you can prop it against the door so when it opens, the door wont be able to close. you can use this window to portal through the door and go into the fling room. 19: you can shoot a portal through the pipe from the first escape sequence room, skipping nearly the whole thing. there's a pretty precise shot you can do near the end to shoot the portal without having to climb on top of the piston, find the right position to get that shot and youll be golden. e01: i didnt even know that was a portal bump you could do lol e02: you can peek the portal in order to place the angled portal to get over quicker, then jump down and fling yourself onto the catwalk to skip the whole sequence with the claw turrets learn to quick kill gladOS using a portal and a turret, saves a lot of time so once you learn how, theres no reason not to. not bad for one of your first (submitted) runs, hell of a lot faster than i was :3
