Asetek Invicta Wheelbase Problem Noisy
I recently purchased this Asetek Invicta Wheelbase and it's making a terrible grinding noise when using the Automatic Centering System. I am being told by Asetek Customer Support that this is "NORMAL". Does anyone else have this problem? Comments welcome

      Asetek is telling me that "They All Do This" and it is normal. I'm anxious to see how many others are doing this

      Response from Asetek customer service "What is heard in the video is loud, and we agree on that. This is due to the motor trying to lower the speed in the wheelbase based on the software, often when the ACS is activated. A new (replacement) wheelbase will have the same effect as this is due to the software. Luckily, this sound only appears when not ingame/in use and, therefore, is not a nuisance when in use. We are working on a solution for this in the software that will make this less extreme." If I would have know about this I would have purchased a SimCube. How can they keep selling something like this, it sounds and feels like it's full of sand.

    Hi! Do you hear any rattling noises and feel any vibrations when decelerating? I have changed the cam tensioner and I have that rattling noise when it's in neutral and clutch released which I have to live with, but I still hear that rattling noise when decelerating. Is that normal?

    • @fredburmer7306
      @fredburmer7306 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's nothing to do with the Cam Tensioner, it's the Clutch Basket rattling at just the right RPM. It really doesn't bother me because it only does this in neutral with the clutch disengaged. The only time you would hear it is at a light for example if you are in neutral which I never do. It doesn't have any affect on the performance of the bike so it's not worth worrying about.

    Hi there, yeah I know this is video so old but I was wondering if you still have the bike? I have the same on mine. I believe it's nothing to do with the clutch but your cam chain tensioner thats stuck and not doing its job correctly...with the risk of chain jump, chewing up your cogs and damaging your valve train....

    • @fredburmer7306
      @fredburmer7306 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it's not the cam chain, the upgraded cam chain recall was already completed. The clutch basket rattles while in neutral and the clutch released. I still have the bike and love it. I have just learned to live with it and frankly don't even notice it any more. The bike runs and rides great.

    • @fredburmer7306
      @fredburmer7306 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I sold the bike about a year ago but it isn't the Cam Chain. The tensioner was replaced under a recall several years ago. This is the Clutch Basket rattling at just the right RPM only when in neutral and when the clutch is disengaged.

    do k 1200gt all miss like that at idle

    • @fredburmer7306
      @fredburmer7306 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not a "Miss", it's just the clutch basket rattling when the clutch is not engaged. Not all of them do this but I think most do. It's just annoying but doesn't affect the performance. BMW should have addressed this in a recall, it makes their bike sound like junk.

    Fred Burmer, did you ever get that fixed? I just replaced my clutch plates with barnetts and it did nothing to help. Please let me know if you completely fixed it and how. Thanks!! beemrider@hotmail.com

      @fredburmer7306 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I replaced my clutch plates with the Barnett Clutch pack and it did not eliminate the rattle. It's obviously coming from the clutch basket and I'm not going to replace that. I'm just going to live with it. It only rattles when the clutch is disengaged and I really never sit in that configuration.

    Clutch basket ,common problem in K bikes

    • @fredburmer7306
      @fredburmer7306 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, I've come to that conclusion. I replaced the clutch pack with the Barnett Clutch and no change in the rattle. The bike runs like a top and I've just learned to live with it.

  • @mattmccarty72

    I doubt it sounded like that new, so no, it’s not normal. This is a clutch problem with the spring plate allowing too much slack. New clutch pack will solve it. BMW knows it was a problem yet because it doesn’t cause a failure issue, they did not put a recall on it.

      Its not aceptable that a manufacturer like BMW knowing this is not puting a recall on this

    Was it the pilot bearing?

    • @fredburmer7306
      @fredburmer7306 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think so. I haven't replaced it yet because I'm not sure exactly what the problem is. The BMW Dealership is telling me it's a common problem most likely caused by the Clutch Basket but it doesn't affect the performance at all so "live with it". I do plan to replace the clutch pack over the winter just because it is not that expensive and pretty easy to do myself. Some people have told me this has helped their K1200 quiet down.

    Try the Barnett clutch pack. My dealer in Arizona recommended this. It worked! No more rattle, and the clutch engagement was improved. Barnettclutch.com
