Cool list!
@@boardgamebard Glad you liked it!
I feel like Gizmos and Fantastic Factories also should be considered mad-science games. Gizmos has devices that use hamster-powered wheels, while Fantastic Factories has giant robots and earth-drilling ships (also banal stuff like gyms).
We just played Colab, that was a fun mad scientisty game!
@@eVanDiesel Oooooh.... I need to look that one up!
Imaginarium is one of my favourites but I was very disappointed of the expansion
@@bradspelsmats yeah agreed. I can take or leave the expansion... it's fine, but not necessary.
Played this at a games day meet up, really good but wow, a lot of choices
Ahhhhhhh! We still need to play Distant Skies!!!!
@@eVanDiesel given that it was my most anticipated of 2024, it still took us a while to get it to the table, but I was so glad when we did!
Really enjoyed your list. I realised over Christmas that I don’t have any dice games so Spots and Creature Caravan are of interest. Thank you for the video ⭐️🦘
@@jacfinlayson9989 It's always fun to pull out a good dice game! Spots is a great filler-weight where you can roll just a couple dice or a huge handful, depending on the action you choose. Creature Caravan is a little longer, though it still plays in about an hour with the simultaneous play. Thanks for watching!
Great list! I haven't played any of these, but I'm particularly interested in Creature Caravan. My favorite that was new to me in 2024 was QE - a bidding game where everyone has blank checks.
@@cardboardintherough I've heard of QE, but haven't played it yet. It sounds like it could be a blast with the right group!
We enjoy Solstis for a quick relaxed little game like Gentle Rain.
@@RubyRevolution2015 Oooooh! I'll need to look that one up!
The wife and I are considering getting this. We'd most assuredly would keep it separate. We like Wingspan base + European only. It's such a clean, streamlined way to play.
Nice List, glad I stumbled upon ur channel
I also backed this one and think it is so much fun! I love the art and the components and the game play is great. A big win in our house.
@@JymmiFI was so glad it all came together so well, and wasn't just cute pieces with a so-so game!
Really does look cool!
Nice list. Keep it up
Dungeon Petz sounds really interesting! We are putting that on our list to try. Ark Nova is our favorite to date. We got the expansion ehich was definitely worth it. It plays differently every time.
@@GingerByrn1 I also love the variety that the map packs bring to Ark Nova....just picked up the second one, but haven't had a chance to try them yet.
Love the "unique" list. I've seen Imperial Settlers EOTN on a few lists and it's added to my Wishlist. Thanks for the great video!
Imperial Settlers EOTN is amazing. I recommend that you move it from your wish list to your owned list asap!
So glad you had fun with Unsettled. I love it!
Fun!!
Super fun recap, thanks 😊
Gardlings was by far my favorite discovery of the convention. Windmill Valley also definitely fit into our frequent favorite category of middle-complexity Euros. I also liked the vibes of Rajas of the Ganges's dice combos, similar to Voyages of Marco Polo and Witchstone. BTW, Era: The Medieval Age is by Matt Leacock, of Pandemic fame. I think the designer of the previous game got repeated.
@@akuchling Great choices! And oops, thanks for pointing that out. Sadly there's no way to edit an already-uploaded video 😩
I did not know Mists of Carcassone turned it co-op. That makes it more interesting to me.
@@christagregg9363 it really revitalized the game for us! Apparently you can also use it as an expansion for base Carcassonne, but we haven't tried that.
This has been a great list so far. Some new to me games.
I am interested in the fashion themed game. I also enjoy Patchwork. It’s a fun puzzle to explore.
In Galaxy Trucker there is one card in an expansion called Black Hole, You have to have at least 10 Engine power to escape it, or you out of the game, what that card comes up x'D FUN xD :)
Nice video! 🤩🤩Cant wait to see what game designers will come up with in the next year! ( I am a board game hoarder by the way x'D )
awesome,thanks,subscribed 😊
@@ChrisLowResDream welcome!
Fun video! Love hearing about the different games you’ve played.
Nice choices. Your videos are enjoyable.
Cool, refreshing list. Will certainly check The Grand Carnival and The Loop, the only ones I have not played. Your elevator pitches for each game are very well presented !
Yesss, Pulsar is great!
This video was on my recommended and was my intro to your channel, I absolutely loved it and your top 10! I took away Empires of the North, Dungeon Petz, and The Grand Carnival as new-to-me games to add to my list of want-to-play. I love your (+ your gaming group) focus on creating that pleasant and fun environment together. Such a lovely video, looking forward to exploring more ☺ (and watching the rest of your top 50)!
@@zomb_nom welcome! Glad you found some new games to try...here's hoping you like some of them as much as I do.
Fantastic choices! Do you need the expansions for the Imperial Settlers game? As in, is the base game experience sufficiently fun and deep to enjoy for a long while, or are the expansions a must?
@@nikolamanojlovicci the base game comes with 6 clans, which is enough to keep you busy for a while! And they all have slightly different focuses, so it's worth playing the same one several times to hone your strategy.
@@MeeplePhD thank you for the explanation! Much appreciated
I love your list, especially the inclusion of The Grand Carnival. It's one of my favorite tile-placement games!
@@blackboardgaming5348 it's so good!
Great to see Dungeon Petz getting some love. Awesome game! Wreckie rules!
@@michaelbudden4799 it's a toss-up between Snakitty and Uni for me 😍
My daughter loves Uni. And Baby Golem. All the Petz are great, though.
@@michaelbudden4799 too true!
Woo hoo! Solid 10!!!
Always enjoy seeing peoples top ten! Awsome games. Im kicking mysekf for not getting a copy of the loop when it was way more available. Cant seem to find copies anywhere anymore. 😕
@@PBMatthews254 oh no! It's so good!
I was waiting for this list, I own several of these games. Love meadow, quaks and taverns of tiefentahl from your list. I see that you like a lot of carddriven games. The last time I tend to like playing with a communal board and stuff to play with, if these are tokens, meeples, tiles, dice, moving parts of the board. I own dungeon petz, but I didn’t play it yet. Since it is your number own I will play this one as soon as possible.
@@tamaravanheel3758Oh..I hadn't noticed how many in my top ten were more card-driven! I do love some dice-chucking and other components, but I guess those are a bit further down the list. I hope you enjoy Dungeon Petz!
Great list. Dungeon petz😍
Great stuff!
Awesome games!!! My tastes really align with yours 😊. Love your overviews, the points raised, and the relaxed vibe. It might be useful to keep the name of the game up while talking about it - I might want to google it at some point while hearing about it and forget what it was called 😅. I love Taverns of tiefenthal, quacks, Everdell.
@@rubymichalscheck4558 Great picks!
i was "i want to try bunny kingdom then i love Draftosaurus!" and then wait a minute where are we going i didnt sign up to go to the moon XD
@@TpDgreat I get you with the games, and then throw in some science!
@@MeeplePhD space is fascinating thtas for sure :) tho its my least favorite theme on board games hahah but terraforming mars is still on my top 10 board games of all time
We love this one! It's the only Wingspan expansion we have so far, but we really enjoy it! I can only imagine if you have the other expansions, it would be a lot to have all in one. And they've committed to releasing expansions for each continent so more birds are incoming!
@@JymmiFYes! It takes sooo much shuffling as it is, and I can only imagine how it will be with the upcoming expansions!
@@MeeplePhD yeah, we keep saying we need to get a card shuffler!
Great list! Cubitos and Carcassonne are also on mine
@@hugocruz2439 Cubitos is so fun and ridiculous in the best possible way 😀
Wingspan is one of those games that i thought i will never like, it took me a long time to decide if i should get it and finally trade my 2 games for it,,i felt i was gambling on that trade but im glad i did it is an amazing game it became one of my favorite games! as for Quacks of quedlinburg i didnt like it im not sure why maybe the lack of interaction? i think i will love cubitos more over quacks
@@TpDgreat I totally understand why some might not like Quacks -- for me, the flaws outweigh the fun, but it could easily swing the other way!
Would like to try taverns of tiefenthal. Ive always thought i would like that game. Have you tried isle of skye? I much prefer it to origional carcassone but to be fair i played base game carcassone several times many years ago and havent touched it again. Isle of skye has way more interesting scoring to me as it changes from game to game what scores and when. Has a pricing mechanic that feels super unique as well to me. So much fun. 🙂
@@PBMatthews254 I have tried Isle of Skye! I had a version on my tablet for a while and enjoyed playing against the computer players. I also tried it at a game cafe with my spouse, but it didn't quite click with him.
@@MeeplePhD gotcha! Not every game is for every one. 🙂. I bought Carcassonne and one expansion for a friend for Christmas last year. I will have to give it another go at some point. Enjoying your top games!
Excited to see the top of your list. Good work.
Played Planet Unknown like 5 times at a board game convention!! Still need to find a copy to buy!
@@levimote I missed the original Kickstarter, so missed out on the black hole promo planet. But they brought it back on Gamefound, and offered the promos, so I can barely wait for it to arrive!
I really like Stellar, though I find it a bit difficult to teach... likely have to use example turns. It was interesting to hear your perspectives on some real life similarities, thanks!
We haven’t played gizmos for ages… it’s great…nice reminder to play it again…
