How os this so hi resoloution? This is crazy good 😊
There are two factors at work here. 1. The sample player is using phase shifted tone instead of envelopes resulting in 4 bits per channel vs 3 bits per channel. 2. The sample playback code is running in external memory (the megabyte expansion) which is not contended, allowing an increase in the playback speed from my 10.4 KHz (or his previous 11.6 KHz) to 15.6 KHz. So if it were simple maths, his playback routine is 2 * 1.5 = 3 times better than what I use in the SAM MOD player. :-)
