    Hi Roger, love your videos. Quick question, what is the GRIT of the diamond lapping paper you used? The link you provided shows multiple grits. Lastly you mentioned the eye glass wipes but you didn't use them in your demonstrations, what are you using them for to clean the controller? Thanks!

    Looks like the front bulkhead design was borrowed from 1/24 scale racing:) Larger bush to com contact point and consistent spring tension. We use to use Gold Dust brushes and Champion Light springs in our 16 and S16 D motors. I also did underwater break in on those type motors to finish things off. Thank you! I will be getting a couple of your cars later on when I get my track up and running. PS: we had a hood alignment tool (bar) that side through both bush hoods to help Tweak them a little and line them up better:)

    I am surprised we are still using analog controllers. The circuits involved to make this digital are the size of a USB thumb drive. I wish the market was big enough to support that leap and technology. Think about it, everything else in our lives with analog with pots and resistors is gone, replaced by circuits.

  • @livewire114

    So what was the reason for bending the endbell ears out, I don't think you followed up on that topic?

    • @RPMs
      @RPMs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct, I did forget to follow up. My apologies. It's for a couple of reasons, actually. First, to ensure solid contact between the hangars and ears. Second, to push and keep the hangars as far forward as possible to ensure that the pick-up shoes remain at the proper angle of attack. If the contact is not solid, the hangar will sag back, and the angle of the shoe will change, and your power and handling will suffer. Some people try to prevent this with sponge behind the hangar. That can sometimes cause other problems. Such as, if there is sponge holding the hangar forward, but your ear isn't bent properly, no contact will be made between the ear and hangar and your car just won't work.

    To expand upon a comment I made about protecting tires being one of the main reasons why I cut the rear of the body the way that I do, it is also the ONE AND ONLY reason why I practice without a body now. I have ruined so many good tires in practice because of a body cutting them in a wreck, that I just don't want to chance it anymore. Especially since I practice so hard finding the limits...
