The Marvdasht sugar beet factory was built by Czechoslovakia about 90 years ago. It is one of the oldest sugar factories in Iran. The factory has a capacity of about 2000 tons of sugar beets per day and processes approximately 200,000 tons of sugar beets annually, producing around 25,000 tons of white sugar.
