Scary. You seemed really calm! Well done 👍
Seems like someone could have climbed in on the left bank and pulled you backwards with much less chance if having to swim
Nice composure....I would have bailed. Yea, what's up w/first boater passing you? Excellent bag toss. whew.
Yeah what was going on with that first guy who just paddled past? Thanks for sharing. Lots of good lessons here.
Your first buddy didn't seem all that concerned about the pin, didn't even get out of his boat. I would not paddle with someone like that a second time.
That was killer, great job not panicking. good save!
Cheers! Yeah was a great throw straight to me :)
Nice, Was it you that gave me a shuttle back up to Newbridge??
Yeah it was! Hope you had a good trip let us know when you're down again :)
Nice Bud, heading down tomorrow
Great wee fast river. is the whole portion from Banbridge to Lough Neagh runnable without portages or obstacles?
Always good to see that part of the water you can't see it from the toe path
Only negative. Why no saftey on surprise surprise. Obviously a good pool below. Even if just you two you meet people all time on the dart that I'm sure would ha e been happy
Appreciate the comment, there were 3 of us, the other 2 have been running the upper for years and we were all feeling confident during the run. As I didn't know the lines I was following the paddler in front down the drop, so if anything were to happen he was below, safety on the bank wouldn't have been much more useful than a safety boater on the water :)
Nice vid what were the waters readings for this?
0.65m at Dunnabridge, nice low level for the first run down!
@@cameronsmiley4233 thanks, down over Xmas, hoping to run the loop but level looked like a good level to run the upper.
@@mbmountainexperiences perfect level for a first time not too low not to high. The loop if experienced on high is fun
Sickk, twas a good evening 🤙
We live in a wet country in N. I, > and only getting wetter > what better sport to teach our kids then than water sports, kayaking, surfing. Love to see more videos of some of our wee rivers worth paddling.
Love this!
anyone know were to purchase a decent kayak?
Facebook marketplace is a good place, there's a few buy and sell groups in Northern Ireland. If you're looking to get into whitewater a club would be the best idea so you can get a good start!
@@cameronsmiley4233 any good clubs about I’m a complete novice
@@garypue3893 whereabouts are you from? I'm with Lisburn City Paddlers which meet at shaws bridge regularly, there's loads of clubs depending on where you are
@@cameronsmiley4233 im from newcastle co down
@@garypue3893 I think the closest one to you would be Banbridge kayak club, newcastle is a great place to be for whitewater, not too far from the bann or benburb and when you progress there's some great rivers in county down and Antrim!
Great Video
Best kayaking video I've seen.
Dam, looked like a good day out
Siccckk
Really gotta get out with you guys 😂😂
@@AdventuringIrishman For sure, hopefully a bit of rain will bring the rivers back up 🤞

This is epic!
Brilliant 👏 great fun right there.
You lads head out often? Looking for some people to paddle with when I get back this month
Hi Joe, I usually paddle with LCP and a few others who live near Belfast. Some of us are lucky enough to have playspots nearby but it'll be a while before we get back on rivers like this! Whereabouts do you live?
