Nice video, I always find the active track on the bike a bit hit or miss with the mini 3 pro. Where is that trail looks good for my very amateur skills lol.
Jeezus mate, you had no chance of avoiding that. Glad you were ok.
Love the trossachs too mate. Subbed to your channel.
👍 thanks mate
For the life of me I can't think why anyone living and riding in Scotland would put these tyres on their bike.
If you have ever been to Drumclog Off Road you'll know why lol 👍
I don't think ur insurance covers u when ur off road.
They wouldn't have had to know that 😂😂
Well done. I’m doing the 30 miler in a few weeks. Gave me a good insight into the terrain.
Good luck I'm missing this year unfortunately but loved good challenge
Lang may yur lum reek ‘an otheran’s coke Laddie! from a dual American/Canadian who plays the pipes and understands and appreciates your accent. ( for most Americans I said “ long may your chimney smoke on someone else’s coal!) 😂
Thanks bro 👍👌😂

Sorry 😞

I know American English, but what was he saying?
🤣 sorry about that Glasgow Scottish 😬
Too cute 🥰
cat Is it original?
Yip saved my self 900 bucks on an Ackro lol to be honest sounds mega with the arrow decat 👍
The National Park is a total no no - illegal to ride there!
The 3 lochs is open to all and a fantastic place for camping and scenery just can't rip the arse out of speeding
@@NomadScotland Really! .. I didn't know that. Is there written confirmation anywhere, before I get myself into bother..
It all happens so fast. Glad you're ok.
Thanks all good now 👍
Hey buddy, I’m glad you survived the crash okay and didn’t get hurt. Things could have been a lot worse. I crashed my KTM last year in sand and tore a ligament in my foot. I’m still recovering from that injury. Take care and be safe out there!
Thanks mate all part of the Adventure I suppose if I hadn't had my armour on would have been quite a different story safe travels 👍
Popped my fuel tank about 6 months ago doing stupid sh*t offroad. Ended up being about 3,000 usd to get repaired. Ended up with radegarage fuel tank. Still doing stupid sh*t offroad to a lesser degree 😆 and better tires
All part of the Adventure I suppose that's why we do, that bloody track and it's weird shape hidden Dip caught me out lol and my wallet 😅
@NomadScotland I'm taking it as an 'expensive learning experience' and went back to the basics to build up what I was/ am missing in skills. I tried to drift around a tree. My tires regained traction about 1 inch too soon 😂 pushed my left fuel tank under my seat. 8 weeks in the dealership to get repaired. Put 1.85-21/2.5-18 wheels on & worked on better traction management - still am since I was looking for the 'right' tires to the point.
FAAFO.
Absolutely 💪👍
Hello, thanks for the video really helpful! When cleaning the filter, do i need to clean them both or it's enough to clean the external one? thanks
I cleaned the pre filter last month and the internal filter was still pretty spotless to be honest just gave it another coat of oil
Boys & their toys 😏
Amazing
I'd do it just for the sound, let alone that weight savings!
I went further and removed the DB killer sweet lol
Well done and thanks for sharing! I'm doing this this year and haven't heard back from them about dropbags. Do you get them taken to Checkpoints for you at the start?
Yea there will be four big sacks numbered for each of the C/P at the start point, cracking day out weather got crappy towards the end but a good Ultra, alot of single track and sheep trail. Good luck unfortunately I miss it this year. 💪👍
@@NomadScotland Thanks! Fingers crossed for the weather aye 🤞😬
Great video, thanks 😊
im using 48l versions so 24l each on AT, and for few rides i have had them also very happy, did few small jumps and dont see any damaged stitching or anything, they look pretty solid. Im not fan of 'shoe' shape of those bags though, and they dont look good when are empty and lack some system to properly keep them tight and as narrow as possible when they are empty
Wtf with this shit song
Machine
Can u give where is entry road in trossach park ? That you been ?
If you put in google maps 3 Lochs Drive it will lead you to start point 👍
@@NomadScotland great. Thanks
I have installed the KTM OEM case carrier luggage rack on my bike to protect the muffler/exhaust. I’m considering to taking them off now to reduce the weight. What is your experience with crashing on the exhaust side?
I mean depends on your style of riding I do a fair bit off road I've had the bike downed several times nit had any issues, I pack on the RhinoWalk carrier on that side things like tent, sleeping bad, Spare clothes so it's cushioned if it does go down
Beast
Bruh you call that hill? I walk more distance than that to take a dump :D Would love to see a long and variable route on a hill
Lol camera doesn't do Drumclog justice 🤣
Great effort after your incident on the bike bro .Keep it going awesome .
Thanks mate 👍💪
If you decide to organise rideouts, i would be very well interested.
Did you get permission to ride on that private property? You can tell it’s private by the big gate. If not you just videoed yourself breaking the law. BTW people got arrested for riding on the bing at Broxburn you put on another video, which is also private property. You’re going to get people into trouble mate!
Always with permission mate I know every land owner across the campsie fells, I'm 42 and have ridden same areas since I was 12 and worked with alot if the farmers, in return didn't want paid just somewhere to ride my dirt bikes
Take manufacture maintenance intervals and cut them in half. For any manufacturer. I had a KTM, and I have a kawasaki I think both of them say to change oil at 8,000 mile intervals. You gotta be insane to do that. I wouldnt do that to a car. I usually do my bikes about every 2,000 miles, and my car every 3,000 miles, and keep up on your valve adjustments.
I completely agree especially if you riding these machine there supposed to be riden take care of the bike it takes care of you 👍
And especially if your machine doesnt know the word "warm up" or "fuel efficient shifts" I hope to see more vids of you riding in that beautiful scottish country.
I have an 890 and love this bike! Had it for two years with over 7000miles. Followed all run in procedures, service intervals and honestly she has had no issues. Made a few upgrades to the bike and contemplating the air intake. Maybe I’m the lucky one with no issues but did not have issues with my 300 exc in the past.
Thank you kindly for this comment and someone on the same page as me, I agree that you can get lucky and have a good one out the bunch but the majority is poor run in and maintenance procedures 👍👍
That crash was messed up. The road was going weird for sure but your choice of line in an unknown road was questionable
Very true and a sore lesson learned 💪
600km on mine and fucin stearing bearings are loose. How it could be my fault?
Warranty? mabay I've been lucky and got a one off gem lol
@@NomadScotland 3weeks waiting to get appointment
This seems like something your dealer should have checked before giving you the motorcycle
@@zomgjer they should make quality inspection before motorcycle leaving factory, dealer should do their job too…
@@zomgjerseems like something the quality control should of done at the factory
"Please, look my muscles"
Brilliant 👏
From what i can gather, its the camshafts failing on them. My knowledge on camshafts is that they only take a very short time to run in ie a few hours. They are not like pistons that need to bed in over nany miles. They also run in at higher revs because running at tick over puts more stress on the surfaces. I think the issues that most people are having are genuine issues that KTM needs to sort.
That's a fair point but I know how excited I used to be with new bikes and I was that guy in my younger years that didn't break them in properly and caused issues, no issues the older and wiser I've became
Love how to break in your motorcycle commentary's. Fact is your engine was ran full hard at the factory before you even got your grubby mitts on it. Ran a brand new 1190R hard from day one for 40K klms just regular maintenance, didn't miss a beat, didn't use oil, with only a couple of valves needing clearance adjustment at the 30K service. Would I buy a 7/890, not a chance in hell.
Never had an issue with my 450, 500, 1090 or my 890 everyone I have did the same by the book run in 890 undoubtedly the best bike I've owned to date of the 20+ bikes I've owned but all to there own appreciate the comments
While i understand where your coming from i dont completely agree. I know people that don't properly service their 7/890's and have never had a issue, and others that use a dealer and have had a string of problems My first KTMs were 1993/94 SX125's, that was the early days of shedding a reputation for unreliability and ktm has done a marvelous job to top the market since then. I've had a mix of jap and euro since then. However ktm are earning and deserving a bad reputation for refusing to sort issues that other marques would issue recalls for or warranty. As for running in, I ran my 890 in like I've run in every bike/ car road or race engine I've had or built over the last 40+ years. Ktms method is an arse covering exercise. At Japanese factory's each bike is run through a full rpm range up and down the box on the rollers as it leaves the production line, they aren't as fragile as people think. Yes there are the nuggets that thrash engines from cold, sit at a fixed rpm for the whole break in period only to suddenly unleash it at that magic mileage number (clueless), those who sit and idle an engine from cold for ten mins before riding and other things they do that don't help beak in and engine life expectancy. Build tolerances are critical and an engine can run flat out from new if built correctly....which is where ktm are seeming to vary wildly. Parts falling off these bikes isn't a factory issue, its a dealer issue as they carry out a PDI and have a small amount of components to assemble out of the crate. I experienced a loose skid plate despite waiting a week on delivery for the PDI, i would rather have had the bike arrive in a crate and go through the whole thing myself, but its a liability and warranty requirement. Lesson for those that moan about their KTM falling to bits - dont take it for granted that a PDI is your insurance from loose or impending loose parts. It is YOUR responsibility as the operator to check for loose parts before and after each ride. All my issues so far have been random electrical problems, all related to the crap bosch euro 5 ecu. Mechanically its been sound 🤞, its been thrashed to death but is still relatively low mileage. I too dont get the high mileage in due to my job, but there is a huge list of people that have followed KTMs schedule to the letter and have had 2k + bills to repair with substantial down time after KTM refused to warranty failures that quite frankly are KTMs problem. As for bikes sitting at a dealer for months awaiting repair/resolution, well thats just unacceptable. Camshafts on both 7/890 models regardless of S/R or Rally failing around the 16k mark is pitiful but yet ktm still reject many claims even on fully dealer serviced bikes. Immobilizer issues, starting on one cylinder, poor idling, random 02 engine codes with misfire, complete flame out when closing the throttle to name just a few of the problems THOUSANDS of owners are experiencing. Then add in leaking fork seals on bikes that have never seen the dirt, shocks leaking, crankshaft seals leaking, faulty m/c on the early bikes, tft going black... I've had lambda faults, immobilizer faults, starting problems and idle misfires, none of which prevented the bike from running and were more of a pita than anything else. However the random flame outs that nearly caused me to crash were scary and unexplained by ktm. Ktm usa even advised to run lower octane fuel to cover up shortcomings in the overly lean mapping... Decatting and remapping the ecu sorted the stalling and 02 issues - probably as it ignores the 02 now and actually gets a decent air fuel ratio that enables it run better and cooler (stock fuelling was leaning into the high 16's ! ) MTC failure warning no longer happens as its bypassed along with the ABS which is a menace. I used the dealer to get the measley one year warranty but will not use the dealer now. I check camshaft clearance at 8k interval's and my oil changes are done at 1200 miles. The running issues last year i ended sorting with a third party after the dealer wanted to keep the bike to look at, but on the same hand admitted i had already done everything that they would have checked 🤔 An exercise in taking my hard earned money. Despite these issues its a keeper and there's nothing on the later versions of any significant thay would prompt me to get another. The list of mods to mine goes way beyond a few bolt on parts, with bespoke aluminum and carbon components, suspension mods and huge weight savings and is all listed in the lightweight thread on advrider. At near 180 kg with fuel is a far cry from the truck like 196kg dry weight of the std R model. As for the ready to race bs, nice one ktm for asking 600 quid more on top of a 13k bike just to get it to function as advertised in the promo videos. Ktm will start to loose sales this year to the likes of Kove that are providing what the customers are asking for. As for reliability, well the majority of ktm parts come from china anyway. I hope ktm as a company take a stock of their poor customer service as most of their dealers are excellent but their hands are tied. Sorry if it comes across as a rant, its not meant to, ( just woke up after a nightshift 🤗) But yeah, the bikes are damn solid and have a lot going for them when everything is going well. But because of ktms lack of support they can be an expensive nightmare for some poor folks when things prematurely wear out or other gremlins get in there and the reason why ktm continues to loose more sales to other marques Thankfully I'm in a position to ba able to carry out my own work, be it an engine rebuild or suspension revalve, otherwise if I'd had to rely on the dealer the 890 would have gone a long time ago...
Impressive to see you survived that crash without breaking any bones !
If it wasn't for the armour would have been a different story 😂
With respect, 2000 miles in two years is hardly RTW stuff. The 890 is well known for having issues, are they issues that are deal breakers, that depends on the owner but these self same owners will be the ones you are mentioning so they've every right to complain.
I work over seas 8 months of the year and take away winters I get 4 weeks of riding a year lol
@@NomadScotlandregardless it’s hard to comment on other people’s reliability experiences when all you’ve done is bolted a few aftermarket parts on then ridden 2000 miles in two years. The bike has 9,300 mile service intervals by the book, reliability claims might have more weight if you’d got to the first 9,300 mile service before making any opinions. You are also blaming owners for KTM’s poor quality control other manufacturers get right, some critical safety quality control issues like swingarm bolts falling out.
o shit.. 😯
Yip 🤣
That crash was bad man. Luckily and thanks to your gear you got out ok. Nice video and content. You got a new subscriber.
Thanks dude it wasn't pretty lol
Interesting, just discovered your channel. Like the content, thanks for that! I’m not sure if you’re putting in the captions due to your accent, but it’s actually not necessary and a little bit in the way of the video. I can activate TH-cam cc if needed, I’d stop with the yellow captions. Just my 5 cents, great video otherwise and happy that you didn’t get injured.
Thanks yea I had some comments on previous videos about people not understanding me but I'll take that feedback as I don't particularly like it my self 👍
