Why we care about vehicle safety:
A family member was very sick, and a friend died in a car accident. Through this difficult period, we developed a deep desire to save lives,. But it was not immediately apparent how we could --- we were not doctors, but rather Ivy League PhDs. In the process searching for a new car --- one founder had his eureka moment. Using his PhD training in econometrics and machine learning, he could better use crash test data to evaluate vehicle safety.
