Under the theme Ageing With Dignity, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment united with various ministries and departments across India to honour and support senior citizens. As part of this initiative, Delhi Police launched the Kutumb application for the safety, dignity, and welfare of senior citizens. Doordarshan, Prasar Bharati, and other media broadcasted the message of Ageing With Dignity, reaching every corner of the nation. Airlines and metro services also joined in, sharing this message on the International Day of Older Persons 2024. Through drawing competitions and pledge-taking ceremonies, children actively participated, spreading awareness across generations. With support from over 600+ NGOs and RRTCs, the Ministry organized events nationwide, including special health camps for the elderly. To further support senior citizens, the government implemented the Elderline Helpline (14567), providing support and guidance. #EmpoweringSeniors #AgeingWithDignity #InternationalDayOfOlderPersons

Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY)

PM-AJAY (Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojna)

With the implementation of PM-AJAY by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, 132 girls' hostels and 43 boys' hostels were established from 2014 to 2023. Free accommodation and nutritious food are also provided to the students. The ultimate edge of rural India is now moving towards prosperity with growing strength.
