Just seen this one FG. Another nice smooth, controlled, rapid trip over the Mountain. We will be over again for Practice Week very soon. Roll on! Keep it safe.
Plenty of decent tyres available, Dunlop Roadsmarts have all the grip you'll ever need!! use them on mine and are as good as any sports tyre ive used except racetecs or supercorsas...
It's fantastic to see a GS riding like the wind! Currently i am a R1 '04 owner and after 10 years of racing i'm getting a bit fed up with it. Recently i tried a GS 1150 and despite of low hp's and the heavy weight it rides marvelous. Unfortunatly there are no sport tires available for the GS. Alloy wheels of the r1100s would seem like a solution. Did you have to make any modifications (to the brake discs?). Or did the wheels and breaks just fit? Greetings from Holland
Honestly, that was fast riding, but all that time spent in the oncoming lane passing slower blokes was more chancy than I prefer with the volume of traffic. Hard to justify triple digit speed on that busy a roadway. 7:00am on Sunday morning it might have been OK
Great planning ahead, no risks in my opinion, holding back when needed, great lines and great throttle control, I've been an instructor for 26 years, it's not very often I'm this impressed, well done!
amazing riding fungusgs, would of been good if you had let the camera run on a little longer so we could laugh at all the sportsbikes you obliterated as they go past :) 5/5
@schwantz037 It shows the difference between a biker and someone who rides a bike, you're presumably the later going by your comment. No oncoming traffic was inconvenienced, that I saw. Observation was brilliant, the most obvious bit which shows this was passing the bike and van coming out of a sharp right hander @ roughly 9 minutes. This guy had looked down the road, was out and passing before the other bike had even looked!
Well ridden! Smooth and controlled As a TDM rider, I find it satisfying to see how well most modern bikes will respond on the open road, if they are sypathetically ridden. No need for 150bph and race cans. All the best and hope you enjoy TT 2010 Pete
congtrats to your riding! now those stupid EU bureaucrats can see that limiting the engine performance to 100 horsepower has nothing to do with the actual speed the rider choses to ride at. those inline fours could leave a boxer in the dust on the straights when their riders could and dared to ride as good and as fast as you have _CHOOSEN_ to do. this is so typical stupid lawnmover-thinking: regardless of weight-performance ratio, torque, anything, they want to cut performance without thinking.

hey there, nice vidéo and nice track of course ;o). i m from belgium and have a 2003 gs . i m curious about witch tires you use, cause i m with the original M. TOURANCE with i m verry happy, but feel like i reach the limit of the tires, and the feet older tuch the road,is it not better with a road tires cause they r higher and larger, i dont know if i say something wrong or ...,if you can help me with this choises.... sorry for my english, thanks in advance. Tom
i didn't see any law breaking josh, and why would it be funny if he hurt himself? might i suggest that you spend more time brushing up on your spelling/diction and less time making immature statements on the internet.
I think the Manx police would take a pretty dim view of riding at 50mph in a 30mph zone, where there are likely to be pedestrians and children about. Enjoy the mountain, but riding like that in town is putting lives at risk.
thanks for this ,i love the start of the tt ,this was 2014 when we were allowed to show women in all their beauty ,good times
Respect man, you're alive
GOD"S HAMMER ON THE ROAD.. BEEMER GS ONLY THE BRAVE..!!!!!!!

what the hell have you done to the engine lol

Great riding, loving the way you embarressed the sportsbikes!

Wonderful!
That bloke in the Yellow leathers near the end wasn't looking about too much before he moved all over the road for his line

Nice ride and good to see you passing all those sports bikes on a big beast!
Fantastic! You feel like you're along for the ride!

You could say you were the fastest man on the island that day :-)

I love the sports bike rider getting fed up and letting you past! On a great big touring bike too!
azz che manico!
No consideration for other road users, ie, oncoming traffic.....
Clearly this is like 2 years old atleast. They have made the mountain one way now during TT, which I think is much better.

Gulp.
Good work fella! Nuff said!
And I thought Beemers were slow LOL !
Nice Ride!
id say thats a scary place to drive, in a car lol
woow!
i have a 1100 gs, i feel small.....
That's some great riding mate, nice one
Haha,, GS! Great! :o)
I bet you even can't afford a GS!
At low speeds your GS sounds just like mine.....notchy gearbox and diesel like qualities.
Love you work, keep it up. Be safe.
thanks for the answer, than the best for me it's ti find a pair of RT or R 1150 to fit the gs. thanks a lot .

Hey, you passed 22222 on the odometer
Going through Guthries at 3.39 is a very silly thing to do.
i really wanna go to TT in 2011, does anyone know when it is?
I'm in awe! You can certainly ride that bike!
Dude. Wow. This is ridiculous. I almost didn't believe that this was a GS. Maybe I'll try this on my 1150GSA next time I'm out that way...
Great riding and an excellent video, I love it. GS rules
Was that another GS you passed early in the vid?
very nice, you've done that before.
