excelente libro!

I have loved The Byrds from the very first time I heard the very first notes from that Rickenbacker guitar. And this brilliant singer and musician's soaring harmonies. You provided both the joy and the melancholy, and much of the soul, from the top, for one of the greatest groups in the genre's history. Always be thankful for you, David.

I just finished reading the book after reading the three Police autobiographies. Excellent read! The autobiographies were also very good but, like all autobiographies, there were gaps in the narrative and the stories were somewhat sanitized. Which is not to say that the Stafford & Stafford book was full of lurid sensationalism - it wasn’t - but it did not avoid facts that the three musketeers protagonists found too uncomfortable or impolitic to discuss in their respective autobiographies. I also found many of Stafford & Stafford’s asides and short digressions in their book hilarious. I read many band biographies and few are as well written and entertaining as this one.

Best Beatles book ever written

Sadly, David Crosby died shortly after this book was published, so it is an all-the-more-valuable relic of history. ❤

Got the paperback version last week. Will start reading it soon. She was a great woman with a colourfull history. Sadly, she is no more among us. I will miss her, even while i've never met her in person. Thanks Omnibus Press for publishing this great book !

I found Leaf's book good , but eventually tiresome in the Brian bias. He skipped so much Beach Boys history, but justifies it as a book primarily about Brian. Was including the BB in the title a way to sell more copies? The last chapter Leaf sounds like a white guilt liberal acknowledging the privilege. California, such a lovely place now. Reply
