I’m not so sure this was the right thing to do. If I owned a home on the pond and it suddenly went down a few feet, I would probably be upset. Was it actually supposed to be lowered or is the spillway just in disrepair? Maybe check with home owners first.

Was it your intention to only partially, and temporarily, clear this? Not cleaning out down by the grate and then sending more debris down on top of it, is just going to create a bigger, harder to clear, blockage in the future.
