Today, I will be talking about the need for collaborations and team work in your youth leadership journey.
There is a proverb that we often use but we may lack the application of it and that is “Two heads are better than one”.
It simply means when we team up with people to collaborate on a common goal, we will get it done faster and efficiently.
Collaboration is defined as the action of working with someone to produce something. It can be between two or more people and comes in a form of partnership or a union.
IMPORTANCE OF COLLABORATION in leadership
- In Collaborative Leadership, there is the opportunity for better problem-solving and decision making
- It Promotes open communication in the team that is, making leaders more approachable for others to freely bring out their ideas and concerns
- Collaborative leadership focuses on building relationships with the team members
Disadvantages of trying to do everything by yourself as a leader
- You stunt growth
- You burn out quickly and loose sight of the important things because nobody is there to point them out to you
- You get Health implications of taking on too much work
How collaborations improve the community
- When we work together, it allows us to get to know each other better and build strong social connections.
- It amplifies individual efforts and enables the community to tackle issues as a unified force
- allow individuals, organisations, and institutions to work together towards common goals, leverage their strengths, and achieve a more significant impact
