One you pick one over the other for 16th note chugging as far as tension is concerned? I love fretting with low effort but want enough tension for metal chugging riffs. Do you feel like you get that from both sets or would you rate one over the other for that? Thanks a ton for producing this comparison video!

...I have only two parameters! D'Addario ECB81 (I love the low tension and the super great feel under my fingers) and the La Bella Gold Flats (much more tension and a strange feel like glue...). Those Deep Talkin and Low Tension..... are comparable? Thanks :)))

Think I preferred the LTFs with the tone fully open, was a tie though they sounded different (darker vs. more mid-forward) at 50% open. And I preferred the DTFs with the tone fully closed where it kept just a hint more pitch and growl. I think I'd go with the DTF 760FL because I really liked it's fully closed sound. And I think you could roll off the tone slightly to get closer to the LTF sound. But I don't think I'd get much use for that very subby totally smooth fully closed LTF sound. Would be cool for dub bass. But, I have my Mustang with flats for that.

I’ve got LTF’s on 6 jazzes and precision’s, and deep talking 760FL on 2, it doesn’t say which ones you have unless I’ve missed it, they do differ imo, the LTF’s are smoother and warmer sounding and they mellow even more with time and the FL’s are slightly higher tension and have more mid/highs, 760FS are very similar but have more tension, all are excellent strings and you should never have to change them, nice playing and great comparison Matthew

I play the Low Tension Flats and I have found they give a smoother more melodic tone where the DTFs give a more percussive tone. Tempted to buy a second base to use the DTFs on or just use my Ubass for melodic playing (Aquila Thunderbrown strings) and put the DTFs on my other bass for the percussiveness I find myself missing.

Do we even know that these two lines of strings differ other than in gauges? It might be just targeted marketing.

What gauges were the DTB?

Like the DTs more - seems like you can get more punch, if you want to, but they can sound smooth like the LTs, too

And the fact that you can only learn Diamondback from HIM because they changed Vishap into a solo duty which Blue Mages can't attend really rubs salt in the wound. :p
