Laurie's Little Bit of This and That
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 มี.ค. 2020
Videos mainly dealing with things I create -- from art and junk journals, as well as altered books; to tapestry weaving and dollhouse miniatures. And things I have an interest in -- such as palaeography and photography.
A Vampire's Story - A Narrated Junk Journal Flip Through
This is a six-minute flip through of a junk styled journal with a gothic vampire theme. There are five signatures. For ease of recording, I recorded the flip prior to binding the signatures into the cover. The journal contains some images that I generated using various free AI image generators. The diary entries were created using Chat GPT.

Try Glossy Accents to Add a New Dimension To Your Work
มุมมอง 2909 หลายเดือนก่อน
The main purpose of the Glossy Accents product by Ranger is to add a high gloss finish to small elements of your paper crafting work be it trinkets, junk journals, art journals, tags, glue books, or collage. It can also be used as a glue. It does, however, take a long time to dry so you have to plan accordingly. #GlossyAccents #dimension #embellishment

I just replaced the correction tape cartridge on an old electric typewriter. Before discarding it, I wanted to see what, if any, use the old tape might have in my junk journaling journey. I see some potential uses for it in the future. For now, I'm going to store it with my washi tape collection. #typewriter #correctiontape #embellishmentforjunkjournal

This book originated from Jackson County in Michigan - specifically Concord Township. Concord is located halfway between Kalamazoo and Ann Arbor. The ledger dates back to 1911 and ended up in a barn in Texas. It is a record of civil and criminal cases administered in the township during the period 1911 to 1929. John C. Root, Justice of the Peace, oversaw 137 civil cases between September 1911 a...

This is an excellent tutorial.
Just awesome
Wow Laurie B, those pages came out awesome! Love all the layers!
Thanks, Maggie.
Your quilt came out beautiful. thank you for such clear instructions and demo. I want to make one for my bed now. Going to save your video to use as a guide to help me do that. What size bed was this made for? thank you.
Wow, you did great! Now how to remove 1950's greeting cards?
Perhaps some sort of 'steaming' method over a tea kettle might help soften adhesive.
Very interesting tip. I must give this a try TFS✔
Genius! Thanks for sharing!
Great idea….thx for sharing!
I've done this before and works very well. I dried the pieces off and then placed between two paper towels. Then set a heavy book on top. Next day they were perfect
I did the same thing years ago. But I put them between toilet paper and placed book on top to keep them from warping. Gold inks and the gel gloss didn't work with this method. They don't stain from the water either. I would only suggest to try only a few pieces at a time though.
Thiis is brilliant. Thank you!
Thank you.
Oh this is ingenious! Thanks
Cool!! Thanks for sharing👍
Interesting. I never would've thought of that. Thank you for this!
Thanks for this well done video! I learned a lot. I appreciate videos that are considerate of the veiwers time.
Very nice! Thank you! 💜💜💜
This is a great tutorial! Thank you! ❤😊
Thank you.
Looks like fun! Sometimes I have needed specific folder that I didn’t have…will be really nice to make Folders to match existing dies that I already have! Thanks!
WOWSER!! Such a smart gal YOU are!!
WOW so creative! I shared this with a dear friend and I LOVE the little trunk with the little books! WOW so detailed! I love it!
Oh the wife is gonna love this one. Nightmare FOR Christmas gift. 😊 I mean it genuinely too. We're into these kinds of things.
So clever!
Did it come with a magnet sheet for your dies or did you purchase that elsewhere? If so, where? I have been looking for something like that that was strong enough to hold the dies without falling off ... so far, no good for where I've looked. :( Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks for sharing this vid. I'm thinking of purchasing a Dreambox. Boy, does my craft room need it!! it would be a great investment.
They were an additional purchase. You need 2 sets to cover both doors. You can find them at www.createroom.com/products/whiteboards You want the 'magnetic' version. Good luck.
Thank you , I really needed this video. !! Recently I got ahold of 100s of new Hallmark Christmas cards without envelopes and will be donating to our local senior center so they can either make their own envelopes out of rolled craft paper and or make gift tags or other crafts with the beautiful cards. I had been wondering if the Dollar Tree tape would be good for me to donate as it would be easier for them to use than messy glue or glue sticks. I am glad the Dollar Tree tape did well in your test. Thanks again!!
Love this trick, thanks for sharing and inspirations are endless!
Thank u 4 sharing this technique. What a genius way 2 use up cardboard as well. There have been so many times that I wish I had an embossing folder of a metal die. Does this technique work with only nesting dies or with any dies? Thank u. Have a great, blessed day.
💜Thank you for sharing!💜
