Yamaha PSS 595 All Styles Portasound Keyboard Arranger
This video demonstrates all 50 factory styles of the Yamaha PSS-595.
All elements of every styles are played in C major :
Intro, Fill in 1, Fill in 2, Large & Bridge variations and the Ending.
The Yamaha PSS595 was released in 1990 and it was similar to the PSS 590, both of them were 49 keys non sensitive. The same year, Yamaha introduced the PSS 790 and PSS 795, with a bigger keyboard of 61 keys, a pitch bend, some pads and a vector joystick.
Yamaha 1990's PSS home keyboards used the AWM technology instead of the late FM, which was more exciting. Though AWM sounded more realistic, it lacked the warmness of the frequency modulation synthesis.
The PSS 590 is fully midi compatible, it's lightweight and it is a lot of fun to play with !

I'm curious if it's possible to convert GEM WK8 set/files to MIDI or for Korg PA series. If anyone has experience with this or knows of any tools or methods to achieve compatibility, I'd appreciate any insights or tips. Thanks!

I made the software to convert the files, but if I can remember well, there were not a lot to change. I just gave up with this thing a long time ago, I haven't even code anything since then. That was just a hobby and I wanted to make something cool with my gem's keyboards ...

Hello, I don't have that sorry but you can find styles and sounds on the GEMClub group on FaceBook. The owner of the group runs a website from where there are thousands and thousands sounds and styles for any GEM keyboards. Good luck.

Ah, it wouldn't be fair to compare the GEM with the Roland of course. The Roland is clearly superior and not in the same league. But from a nostalgic point of view, I like the Gem a little bit more. I waited more than a year before getting this WX. I was checking the ads every day to find one in good condition as well. I guess it was really a great toy at the time, despite some limitations. "I particularly like its design, especially the blue screen. However, I don't like the fact that the buttons are a bit hard to press, but that's a recurring issue with the GEM...

❤Hi, my keyboard plays as good as yours With all those demonstration on the keuboard but can't play all my recorded music on SY-D20 DISCS what can be done? Do i have to change the diskette reader ?
I don't have the floppy drive in my KN800 so I can't help that much. But it's quite possible that the drive isn't working anymore or the drive belt has to be changed.
