Thanks for the video! Does the barrier method simplify if I have a Quadratic objective with linear constraints? If so, then I'll just get a log of a linear g(X). Then if I apply KKT, I'll end up needing to differentiate the log terms. My hope is that playing around with this, I'll be able to solve for my X from a set of linear equations. Is this right?

I had my "aha moment" here when you multiplied the grad by the delta to calculate the directional derivative and then the resulting term resembled the second term of the multi-variate Taylor series. Thank you very much.

Thanks for the video! You mention around 5:27 that: 'our hessian will be positive definite whenever our problem is convex'. Why is this the case?
Convex problem means it can be approximated locally by a convex quadratic function. The quadratic function being convex is equivalent to the hessian being positive definite.

@@englishvinglish3335 This method is capable of solving a nonlinear optimization problem subject to nonlinear equality constraints. h(x) is a set of equality constraints. For example h1(x) = sqrt(x1*x2) = 0 h2(x) = e^x1 = 0
