    so, JWPH, you have a lot of expertise when it comes to tracker-based music. for one, whats the best software for creating trackertunes, and for two, what "genre" would you put tracker music under?

      To be fair, tracker music isn't much so of a single musical genre, but moreso of a style of composing music; in some, you have techno, EDM and jungle, and on the other side of the spectrum, you have orchestral and ambient, with the middle being somewhat squared between rock, experimental, and soundtrack. As for the second one, if you are just starting out and love creating music that you can manipulate to your imagination, there's OpenMPT and Milkytracker. Both user-friendly and tons of customizability and sample-related options and tweaks.
