Sailing to Looe and trying some Cornish Tuna
Had a great sail to Millendreath, near Looe. I had a fire on the beach in the evening, paddleboarding in the dark. The next day I motored over to Looe, dropped the anchor and paddle-boarded into Looe. Had a quick tour of Looe, which was full of holidaymakers. I went to Pengelly's fish shop and bought some scallops and Cornish Tuna. I returned to my boat, Helouise and cooked up some beautiful scallops and had sashimi raw tuna. I then sailed back to Plymouth.

Sailing a classic 52 foot Fife yacht in Plymouth

Back in 2015 i was lucky enough to be invited for a quick sail on this beautiful classic Fife yacht. She is "Sibyl of Cumae", a 52ft Fife III based in Plymouth, UK. This was before I was making TH-cam videos and the footage and stills were taken as a record for myself and not a TH-cam film. I hope you manage to get something from it, thanks to Cornelius.

I painted my boat!! Mini re-furb of my Hurley 24/70 in Plymouth.

From January 2022 i spent 4 months re-painting my boat, Helouise, a Hurley 24/70. I'm not sure what colour she was originally but i have painted her white and used old plans to get the painting trim as it used to be, i think. I also replaced the old rubbing rail (strafing rail).

This was a hike I did while I was in Chile in November 2022, in Parque Aguas del Ramon on the edge of Santiago in the Andes Mountains. I've always loved the countryside in Chile for its dusty rusticness - it's so different to England. I was pleased to find lots of different types of vegetation and microclimates, birds and cacti. It was really hot even though it was still only spring.

Sailed one like that >40 or so years ago, still remember it, very nice!
Great vjo, enjoyed it. Used to sail in Dubai, where you wouldn't expect much fog but now and again we'dtake the boat out and it was so thick you would have absolutely no idea where you'd just come from and how to get back.

Gulls are great, unfortunately, i had to sell mine as I had nowhere to store it. The boatyard I had it in stopped accepting dinghies. 😪

@@sailing_helouise Most sailing videos are of trips that most of us will never achieve, the short coastal hops, cooking aboard, fishing is just the right balance. Keep them coming.

I have disited i stay at the shore.
Recently found a Gull for sale. A paint job and some TLC would get it up to its glory days. Should I go for it? I’m still indecisive. It would primarily be used on the Norfolk Broads.

I've been going to Penhale creek just around from there since I was a kid Rod. It's the creek in between Marsh Wall and St.John, lovely little quiet place. You know, that from Millbrook/St.John along to Torpoint, the British buried the French POW'S who built the forts in these creeks in the mud. Some history around our neck of the woods.
Wow, I did not know that! Some special places around there. Yeah, Penhale, that’s where there’s loads of geese? Managed to get my dinghy up there at high tide, scared off all the geese, had a little fire on the shore with overhanging trees, beautiful.
@@sailing_helouise That's the creek Rod. Always plenty of Canada geese and Swans. I love it's peace.

Yeah, it was really nice, cute little village, loads of thatched cottages,. Because of the weather the water was a bit murky and loads of algae, usually it’s crystal clear, I was told. Nice harbour for boats as well, faces west, though, so must get all the bad weather.
