yes we had a fantastic day some good sport and plenty of food , unfortunately fly fishing was very poor this season , fingers crossed for next year, we have one more adventure planned for the last day of the season so watch this space, thanks for the comment.

yes ur right vinc loves his food incinerated so i think if we meet up again i`ll be doing the cooking, unfortunately the head canm i use doesn`t allow for exterior mic its very compact and small it picks up what we call wind blow, two open mic`s would make audio very difficult especially on a windy day in the boat, would love to give brian a open mic he gets very excited when he hooks into fish, but watch this space might come up with solution, thanks for the comment.

Hi if ur talking about glencar or the carragh river , things have changed a lot vincent is no longer the manager it’s run by a chap called Michael o shea ,cloon lake is mostly fly fishing now no bank fishing it’s still a great place to spend a day trolling on carragh lake all fishing methods are allowed on the lake . Hi noel yes ur absolutely right life’s too short, i don’t want to get into the politics of it all or we be here all day , Waterville brings back a lot of good memories to a lot of fishermen i know o how we long for those times again , will they ever return in our lifetime who knows love to think so god willing. Hi tony “ yes “ lough namona fantastic seatrout lake sadly like most irish lakes trout have all but disappeared over the past few years , like me u have many happy memories fishing in waterville Brian and myself have many a conversation over the camp fire about how things have changed , not only has the fishing changed also we are not allowed to to set up camp fire anymore new regulations i hear not to worry i hear the golf is thriving only joking , one addition is enough . @@backpackingireland8624 Batt from Ballybrack and his wife with long black hair they had a garage which you can still see the remains off today. He had a great place there for mobile homes caravans even tents many times i camped there in a tent and he often rented me a caravan and his own boat. I remember it was £8 a day with the engine. That was a long time ago that was before igot married and I'm married 36 years. There was hundreds of boats in amongst the reeds. Salmon everywhere and seatrout in abundance. A long time ago.

yes, we all long for the old days , if you ever talk to any fisherman thats been fishing all his life we always talk about how the fishing was long ago and all the big ones we caught. no video / you tube / facebook/ mobile phones, back then just word and mouth sometimes I think we were better off , it`s just about getting out now and making the most of it

i still use my spinning rods for trolling but i love fly fishing

u never go away hungry from chris"s kitchen vinc as well u know. still carry the big oven and three ring cooker with me , unfortunately don`t use it as often any more .the steak burgers tasted beautiful , but the egg omlette was somsthing else thanks for the comment

bought the head cam on line , ordro 08 model 290 euro, great cam only down side battery only lasts about one hour i carry a usb power pack with me and and recharge when low only takes about 30 mins very easy to operate hope that helps

Hi ruairi, no we haven’t fallen out , i was talking to vinc at the weekend and invited him down to Waterville for a bit fishing and some of my outdoor cooking , hope he takes up my offer , he’s great crack enjoy his company so watch this space 👍

Hi tony , caragh lake is where I learnt to fly fish always brings back happy memories a lot of water went under the bridge since then ur right like all great lakes we all had some fantastic sport back then u have me thinking now WHERE have the years gone , they were best years, when us angels get together it’s all we talk about , remembering all the big ones we caught . Yes , weather has played havoc with particularly fly fishing have to say this was my worst year and if i remember correctly I said the same last year only a few weeks left in the fishing season can it get any worse ? Thanks for the comment 👍

Clonakilty pudding both black & white) use to be great but they went over commercial a few years ago and standards have fallen. Plenty of other manufacturers made far better produce

You might be right but over the years a lot more manufacturers have come into the business with there on ingredients and taste ,i have tried most of them as i was in the meat business for over forty years always came back to clonakilty “ hasn’t killed me yet”😂
