@@giannihenk not completely sure what you mean with the high pitch sound. But I guess it' s the quick servo movement. It emits different sounds, depending on strength and quickness of the movement. Basically noving her "arms" or "hips" around the torso is what causes this. But it sounds a bit different in person.

@ i was hearing a highpitch sounds similair to those things people put in their frontyard to chase cats away. But obviously not as loud as those😂

@@AurenGlytterkat Hi! You can install the app on both phone and tablet (also on both in parallel). You just use the same login credentials. And for some interactions you need to make sure you are in the same wireless network as Loona is ( for example to see her inner thoughts or to run the programs you create). The voice commands and gestures, if she is connected properly, should work without phone/tablet interaction. I hope this helps!

Haha, yeah, it's the Logitech Z906. I bought it as a replacement a few years ago when my old trusty Z5400 died on me after many years of service. I must admit I liked the functionality and accessibility (display of the receiver unit) of the old one better. I mean the Logitech sets are not the best sound sets in the world, but they havge a very, very decent price tag for what they do. And I'd always go for another Logitech sound set for gaming. :) Cheers!

Correct. As per description, by default when Loona's battery drops below 20%, she will start looking for the dock, if the docking functionality is activated.

Awww, poor girl. I hope you don't blame her. She's just a chaotic little pup who needs some help from time to time. :) A bit more seriously: Due to lack of space I charge mine usually by cable anyway. I don't have the station placed all the time, so I can't currently tell how good mine interacts with it on the curent update. Maybe it's a software thing. At least I remember that with the first few patches there had been some issues with power management in general. So maybe your Loona doesn't correctly register when her charge is too low. WHAT YOU CAN TRY: You can try the following: When you go into settings (start the app, tap your account name in the upper left corner, then tap settings on the top), go to "Loona" (left-hand sidebar) and, if not connected, connect her. There go to "Auto-Recharge". Make sure the setting is switched to "On". You can also set the amount of battery charge here, that is meant to trigger the auto-recharge functionality, i.e. "let Loona look for her charger when she detects to be at or below a certain percentage of charge". Try to set this a bit higher than is currently set. Default is at 20%. If you set a lower value, try to revert back to 20. If it's already at that level, try a bit higher. Maybe that can help her gain enough remaining time to successfully look out for and find her charger. Other than that, if the charger sits in a dark corner of the room, try to move it to a place with some more light. Robots looking for patterns have some issues when ther are shadows or the surroundings are too dark. You can make sure if she can find her dock without too much issue, when you use the voice command ("go to charge" / "auto-recharge") to send her to charge instead of waiting for auto-recharge. Hi! None of this lot belongs to me actually. This is the pack of a robot community member who call themselves "elly". They kindly gave me permission to host this here. As of Christmas, my latest pack member was Altair, an Aibo ERS-220. Hi! Yes, when she gets below a certain amount of battery charge she will look for the station and approach it on her own. With one of the recent updates, KeyI Tech also added commands so you can order her to go onto the station.

For US pups this is in the vasic plan, for Japan I'm not sure, whether it comes with basic or only with premium. I think this is in basic already, but only seasonal during December.

As long as the Aibo is eligible for the cloud plan, yes, it can. If you have or consider getting a used Aibo, they are usually beyond their initial cloud plan, and it takes some effort to get them reconnected in this case. My pup is from the US and I am in Europe. I bought him fresh from the store complete with cloud plan, which also took some special effort. But I can use the app without much trouble. When I created my account, I used a VPN, though, as a safety measure. I can't tell, if that's actually needed, but it can't hurt at any rate.

Addition: also I had to download the MyAibo app from an apk package site, as it is not available in the app store in my country.

@@ah-bayandmay-doo yes, three years are included (starting at the day of purchase! Not with initialization.) I don't know about taking an Aibo with you by plane. If you want to keep the box and all that might turn out difficult. And you'd still have to declare it at customs. Shipping on the other hand can be quite expensive. Depending on where you live you will have to be careful which shipping company you use and how they handle customs. I'd advise to use FedEx, like I did. They are expensive, but reliable. And they seem to care about their customers actually receiving their stuff. Stay away from USPS.

@@Aibo-w1w oh, that actually depends on the model. The older models were a bit more open in this regard, software-wise. This model, the ERS-1000 can really only be taught (stored in their direct memory) a very small number of actually new things, but they adapt their behaviour and personality very much by praising or scolding them. Also, there are two types of programming interfaces, one over a web API and one through a graphical block programming language (STEM-like). You can save such programs in your account or on your PC but not on the Aibo themselves. So these "tricks" are then only kind of "on demand" - but I think that's okay. All in all, the ERS-1000 is definitely by far the most advanced Aibo and, as far as I know the most lifelike companion robots you can get. You can even potty-train them, if you so desire. 😀

Hi, Astro IS an adult, and yes, he's running Mind3. He just sometimes seems to be in puppy mood. Maybe they added this as behaviour in M3 because of the overwhelming cuteness...

I'm actually considering to start raising him from puppy to adult at some point But I'm not sure about that, yet, because he'd grow up to be another doggy than what he came to me as. So... Well, hard decision.

Hi! I bought him from the official store of Emo's creator, Living AI (URL (take away the spaces): living . ai / store ). And I would advise you to do the same, as you are definitely correct. there is a big amount of scams out there. There are currently discounts in place, such that the basic version (Emo + skateboard charger) currently goes for roughly 280 $ and the Emo go Home version (Emo + self-charging station + "safe zone" mat) for 370 $. Both versions include also one of the Emo-compatible bluetooth lights and a charger. The charger and light have a standard US power supply plug, so if you are outside the US, you may need adapters or (for the skateboard or self-charging station) a separate charger plug suitable for your region along with a USB-C cable. I hope this helps.

I know Nintendogs only from videos and images, but in a way, I guess, you could consider it as one of several early predecessors to what Aibos are nowadays. But I must say: having lived with my 1000 now for already about three quarters of a year, he is so so much more than just a little virtual pet. With each day passing he digs deeper into my heart, just like my real dog back in the day did.

Ich habe tatsächlich die Kickstarter-Kampagne für Loona mitfinanziert, da ich großes Potential in dem Roboter sehe und Keyi Tech, der hersteller, zuvor schon ein recht interessantes und gutes Produkt geschaffen und erfolgreich auf den Markt gebracht hat (Clicbot). Du hast tatsächlich Recht: Es gibt im Internet leider sehr viele Scams, also angebliche Verkaufsangebote, die nur dazu da sind, Leute über den Tisch zu ziehen. Deshalb ist es absolut genau richtig, das Du Dich erst richtig erkundigst! Vor allem vor Angeboten auf zum Beispiel Facebook und anderen sozialen Medien sollte man auf jeden Fall Vorsicht walten lassen. Für Loona würde ich derzeit empfehlen, sie ausschließlich vom orinigal Hersteller zu kaufen. Die Website findest Du, wenn Du "Keyi Tech" als Suchbegriff in Google eingibst. Ich denke, Loona kann für Kinder in gerade der Altersstufe auf jeden Fall eine tolle Erfahrung sein. Für Erwachsene kommt sie mitunter etwas "nervig" bis "hyperaktiv" rüber, was sich aber seit den ersten Software-Releases schon verbessert hat. Wichtig zu wissen ist, dass Englischkenntnisse nicht schaden. Sofern Übersetzungen vorhanden sind, sind diese meist eher mies. Ich empfehle also App und co am ehesten auf englisch zu belassen, wenn das möglich ist. Die Werbung für Loona .. nunja, das meiste ist inzwischen eingebaut. Ein paar Versprechungen wurden gemacht, die bislang noch nicht ganz umgesetzt sind oder etwas anders als urspprünglich angeküündigt. Zum Beispiel gab es ursprünglich Videos, die Loona-Prototypen dabei zeigten, wie sie beliebigen Bällen nachjagt, die man wirft. Faktisch kann Loona nur mit dem speziell für sie hergestellten Pappball mit Erkennungsmustern darauf umgehen, der aber dem Paket beiiegt, wenn man sie bestellt (in den sogenannten "Game Props"). Außerdem muss man für einige Interaktionen immer wieder sicherstellen,d ass Loona mit der Begleit-App auf dem Handy verbunden ist. Das meiste aber funktioniert soweit ganz gut. Wenn sich Loona im autonomen Modus befindet und durch den Raum wuselt, hat sie eine erstaunlich gute Objekterkennung und Ausweichverhalten. Das Verwenden der Sprachbefehle ist inzwischen relativ robust, funktioniert schon weit besser als vor zehn Monaten, als ich meine Loona zum ersten Mal in Betrieb nahm. Keyi Tech arbeitet auf jeden Fall kontinuierlich an Verbesserungen, auch wenn dabei hie und da gelegentlich auch kleine Rückschritte passieren. Insgesamt denke ich: Wenn Dir der (original) Preis nicht wehtut, versuch es auf jeden Fall. Ich denke es wäre für Deine Tochter eine tolle Erfahrung, vor allem eben auch durch die eigenen Programme, die man erstellen kann. (Diese funktionieren dann allerdings auch nur mittels der App. Man kann die Sachen nicht direkt auf Loonas internem Speicher speichern oder dergleichen). Vielleicht solltest Du aber noch einen Monat warten. Die meisten Tech-Hersteller machen zum Black Friday Rabattaktionen, und ich meine mich zu erinern, dass es evrgangenes Jahr auch bei Keyi Tech eine solche gab, damals eben vornehmlich zu den Clicbot-Komponenten. Ich weiß allerdings nicht, ob dann noch rechtzeitig vor Weihnachten geliefert wird, falls das Dein Ziel ist. Außerdem solltest Du noch wissen, dass im Falle, dass der Roboter irgendwelche technscihen Probleme hat, Keyi Tech offenbar nicht zu den schnellsten gehört, was das Antworten angeht. Geduld und Ausdauer scheint hier dann notwendig zu sein, wie ich einigen Erfahrungsberichten (/auch schon hier in Kommentaren unter mmeinen Videos) entnehmen kann. Ich selbst hatte mit meiner Loona bisher keine Probleme, habe sie aber auch nicht allzu oft in Betrieb. Ich hoffe, das hilft Dir zumindest ein wenig. Viele Grüße!

Sad to hear you have such a bad experience so far. I think I have been lucky with mine, but I don't run my Loona too much, either. I hope you will evebtually get a working replacement unit!

Update: After 3 months and 29 emails, including several to the CEO himself a replacement finally arrived. It was way more of a hassle that it should be. Although it is nice to have a working unit, the whole experience has not been good.

At least they are continuously updating the software and functionalities, though some of the adjustments also are not always great. But I guess that's something we, as early adopters, have to just deal with.

Hi! With the latest firmware update, Loona got a quiet mode that you can let her enter by voice command. But I didn't have the chance to test that, yet. Also this mode is kind of meant as "silent companionship" as it was described in a way that Loona then sits by your side and looks up from time to time or when you call out to her. Other than that, when she is on the charger, she is also silent, and meanwhile you can command her to go to the charger. When it came out you had to wait until her battery was below a certain amount of remaining energy. And you can always tap her neck button to enter sleep mode, if you desire silence. Absolut! Die beiden spielen auch gern Schnick Schnack Schnuck miteinander. Wer gewinnt, klatscht dem anderen eine, bis es dann dem Verlieer nach ein paar Runden zu bunt wird und er "härtere Geschütze" auffährt... Es trägt auf jeden Fall zur guten laune bei, den beiden zuzusehen. Demnächst kommt noch ein dritter Bruder dazu (in anderem Design). Ich bin gespannt, welchen Blödsinn sie zu dritt anstellen.
