The Preferred Lie
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 15 ต.ค. 2019
We live in a Netflix/Google world, where all of our technology is personalized.
We kept asking ourselves, “why do golfers still see the same static top 100 lists when all of us have different golf course preferences?” To us, it didn’t make any sense. So, we built some software to help us all keep track of those post-round conversations of places we love (or hate).
Welcome to The Preferred Lie, where you can;
1. Add your courses played.
2. Rank them by category (fun factor, hidden gem, value, overall, bucket list).
3. Upload your photos/comment on courses.
4. Rank your fav holes (par 3s, 4s, 5s, green sites).
5. Build your own LIE and share it with your friends.
Go to www.preferredlie.com/, and create a free account to start ranking your fav golf courses.
Let us know what’s broken, we’ve got a long way to go.

Verrado Golf Club & The 500 Club Golf Course
มุมมอง 1926 หลายเดือนก่อน
We were lucky enough to visit Scottsdale area for this year’s Waste Management Phoenix Open, with our adidas family. We got a taste of Verrado Golf Club, along with the 500 Club. Both tracks were solid enough, particularly the back side at Verrado. Highlight holes out there included the par 4 12th and 13th holes. The centerline bunker on the 12th along with the tricked up nature of the ‘driveab...

It's ok, I would put Maple ridge waaaaaaay ahead and the mcall next then shag 3rd. There are some cool holes and the scenery is pretty wicked but not my cup of tea for $50,and don't get me started on the pace of play.Like he said, jeans is welcome and that will tell you all you need to know and what to expect for pace of play.lol
My first ever eagle was on 18, a tap in with my driver.lol
Bandon trails has gotta be my favorite course ever
Heading here on Monday for the first time, Golfer’s Journal BTS event. Thought I’d give this a rewatch and it did not disappoint. Ian Andrew’s contribution was fantastic!
That's funny mentioning that he's European because you are too.
Ya. Shag's a good muni. Big hitters get into trouble because its tight with the doglegs and tree lined fairways. But to suggest it could be priced in the $80 range is laughable. The place would be empty. I know this is a slick PR video meant for out of towners but frankly for us that golf here often its a bit of an eye roller. Par 68. Seven par 3's, 3 par 5's. Good little track but lets not make it like some kinda Pebble Beach. 😅😅
Waterton has some of the best holes in western Canada imo. #2, 3, 13-17. All the par 3's are a test. Definitely a hidden gem. Good to see it finally getting some attention from the agronomy side.
Hey do you think general admission for presidents cup in seotember is worth it can i walk around and watch all the holes shots ?
this is probably one perk of RM, there are some solid viewing areas. 16 green/17 tee, 6 green/7 tee, 10 green/14 green, 12 green/13 tee all come to mind. here's a map for your reference - rmgc.clubhouseonline-e3.com/Courses_photo_galleries/Blue_Course#&gid=null&pid=1
@@ThePreferredLie thanks
My son got his first Eagle on #1 last year!!
I am 70 now and golf has been about friends and relationships. Stepping. Dornock was very much the same as playing Royal County Down 17 years ago on my first trip to Ireland. We were literally blown away in 35 mile an hour winds. The sights were just so emotional of seeing this “ perfect” picture out in front of you.
The scenery looks incredible but the devastation of trees by the pine beetle is front and center! A lot of dead trees that add to fuel load during a fire!
Banff Springs so beautiful.
Hi Guys love to see Tam on the map i been playing golf at Tam for the past 40 years i won many Club champions at Tam , it's my home course and i love it great job keep. I remember when Moe Norman give us lessons on Saturday mornings can't forget great time. My grand son is into golf he love the game.👍👍
Dude, we came here to see the course. Tell us more about that. We don't care about your match.
hope to play there in 2 weeks...heard mixed reviews/feelings lately...lots say its over-rated and not a top level course anymore due to deteriorating conditions...guess i will see for myself...
Hawl that’s were a live 😂
"Alpinization" actually originated well before Jasper Park Lodge, contrary to what was mentioned in this video.... by the legendary golf Professiona J.H. Taylor, and with Peter Lees (Head Greenkeeper/Scotland)....at Royal Mid-Surrey....Richmond, England , when JH became the Club Professional there at this historic course (next to 1) Kew Gardens and the 2) Thames River)....Peter Lees was a quiet giant in the golf course design/construction world....those two Greats plus, approx 100 of Irish workers, hand built all those cool humps and hollows... in the early 1900s....
How do you guys not have more sub? Great production. Keep it up.
Helped build that course
Last time I played hole 3 it was a par 3, awesome!
Favorite place on earth. First played more than 60 years ago
This is a gorgeous and fun course. Had to push a bunch of caribou off a box for the wife to tee off. An alpha grizzly was on 7 while we were on 11. Come on up to grande prairie. The dunes is a real nice course here
*elk
@@writetosnowboard oh? Were you on the course with me?
The opening of the video makes me upset to see you hit such a nice chip and have it run away like that. That’s a sham on a golf course
Horrible course... Don Valley much better
This happened today I believe it's the year in our Lord 2024 if I'm not mistaken I did smoke a little and eat an edible this afternoon so please correct me if I'm wrong but is this label 2023 a mistake or am I wrong?
playing here tomorrow!
Lucky to have this compound near by!!
Such slander on Old Mac. Truly a litmus test to see just how much of a golf sicko you really are. That’s why it’s #2 for me
How much the cost of this course?
❤Yep that was Definitely Awesome. Made us Canadians proud 👏 ❤ 🇨🇦
Can't wait to get out on this course. getting back into golf after 10 years and I think this is going to be a new favorite. Looks like a beauty course
The shot with the Underground trains moving is not Wimbledon. Earl’s Court I think.
CF is just a truth bomber!!!
Is there a way to download the podcasts as podcasts? I can’t find it on Spotify or ApplePod
It's great to see Kevin Thistle's team now managing all Toronto munis. We the muni players will be in good hands.
I was at Dornoch this day delivery of stuff.
Great vlog. What rain pant brand & hoodie brand are you wearing here?
Thanks Ian, Lots of great shouts in here. I laughed at the nod to Nobleton #4. I imagine he’s referring to the Woods 9? Our group dreads getting started on the woods first. Banff is my #1, evidently need to make it to Jasper.
I cant believe I havent seen this before. The visuals are really terrific. I can’t describe the beneficial impact playing, caddying, working in the Pro Shop all had on my life. My life at Lookout started n like 1972. The people in this video Mrs STreit, (One of Canadas all time great athletes. Period) Cathy Sherk, the incomparable Al Kmety, the fabulous Foursome are wonderful wonderful people. The legacies of Gord McInnis Senior and Gord McInnis Junior is platinum plus. The people and the golf course teach you so much if you let them. As Cathy and Al discuss any weakness in your game, especially your short game will be exposed. Thanks to all who put this together. Well done!
Course is quite overrated in my opinion. Kawartha is a far superior lesser known Stanley Thompson. St Thomas reaps the benefit of being relatively remote and the mystique along with that. It’s nice but being very hard isn’t automatically redeeming. I’d put it way down the top 100.
I’ve played the course twice, once in college for golf management. The other was on the Niagara mens tour certainly a gem 💎 I would like to play it in late spring or early summer someday. I would also like to try his other Niagara creation Lookout Point.
Song ID?
Great storytelling and amazing shots of such an iconic golf course. Well done all 👏🏼
My daughter lives in Southern Pines so I have a place to stay when I visit. There are a bunch of courses not mentioned here that are really nice but much more wallet friendly. I played Tobacco Road. I am no fan of tricked up courses. And I played like a dog on #2 over 20 years ago so been there and done that torture. I plan to play Mid Pines and Pine Needles this Spring. Legacy Links between Aberdeen and Wagrum is a super nice track. Quail Ridge is really nice 30 minutes from Pinehurst. Rain kept me from getting to play The Cradle. Hopefully before Christmas I can ride over and play it.
What course? 👀
@ThePreferredLie ?? Thxs!
Golden Gate par 3!
Awesome thanks!
Mcall lake 18 destroys shaganapi 18. Shag views are garbage, unless you like looking at traffic lol
what a dingus comment mcall sucks compared to shagg and ive played both many times the views are top notch from hole 10
He has a point, there isnt anything quite like playing next to an airport, those planes overhead give the best ambiance.
I see on your bucket list SHOREACRES.. I’ve caddied there for 11 years now and I knew for a fact that you will not be disappointed if you get the chance!!
I believe it, hopefully one day!
Beautifully crafted video. Thanks for the content. Playing there next March. Can’t wait now!
Seems like mother nature wanted to play a round of golf with ya guys
