RUNNING STITCH
Hi Everyone,
Today's video demonstrates the running stitch.
This stitch is commonly used as a permanent stitch. You can use this on side seams, armhole seams, and as a stitch to attach collars, cuffs and trims to a garment.
The stitch length should be about 1/8" on thin fabric and about 1/4" on thicker fabric.
I hope you enjoy the video!
Best,
Audrah D.

Diagonal Basting Stitch
มุมมอง 101หลายเดือนก่อน
A diagonal basting stitch is the perfect workaround for handling slippery or bulky fabrics. With this stitch, your fabric stays locked in place, reducing the puckering and pleating caused by the presser foot or feed dogs. The diagonal basting stitch keeps the fabrics from warping while in the machine for slinky fabrics like silk satin or sheer organza. I hope you find this helpful on your next ...

MAKING A BODICE BLOCK | DRAFTING & FITTING
มุมมอง 424ปีที่แล้ว
Hi Everyone! In this video, I show how to draft and fit a bodice block! I have wanted to make a custom bodice block for myself for a long while and finally had the motivation and brain capacity to do it! These will be useful in making other blocks later on, but first, they will be used to help draft a future blouse that I plan to hand sew. More on that later. Book I use for reference: www.amazo...
HOW TO MAKE A COAT_EPISODE 6
มุมมอง 35ปีที่แล้ว
Hi everyone it's Audrah! Welcome back to my coat tailoring project! In this video I show how I secure my seam allowance by hand by using a catch-stitch. I do this to make sure my seams always stay in place as I wear the coat, and preserving the seam allowance for any future alterations needed. You will also see how I create shape in my under collar by defining my roll line, adding small stitche...

Enjoy the video and make sure to leave a comment even if it's just to say hello. 6 TIPS TO BEGIN TA...

Nice
Best of luck with the new plans for the channel 😊
Your channel is terrific. Please give us more. I tried to log on to your website, but it doesn’t appear to be online.
Hi Carol! Thank you so much for the compliment! I will be returning soon. Keep a look out for the announcement!
Very clear, thank you. Can’t wait to try this for myself.
Love your determination!
I find that when working alone ( which is what I have to do) it helps a lot to put a center front or center back zipper in ~ also, Pin right & left sides for each area to be changed then , Take the muslin off after each change and baste that change on the muslin. Put it back on, make/pin the next single change , remove the muslin & baste that change on it. Put it on again, Reassess the fit, and pin another area, Repeat.
I can do blanket stitch all day long on a flat piece of fabric but I'm trying to use it to hold two layers together. I wish this video included how you begin the row and how you end it. The written part isn't too clear on that either.
Thanks for the tutorial! A sewing pattern I'm using for clergy robes calls for arrowhead tacks and I knew I'd need a tutorial, yours is very clear and easy to follow!
Thanks for the tutorial, using this to reinforce the bottom of a split in a lacing panel
Thank you. I am going to try this to mend a skirt split/vent 🤞
Thank you very clear video. I haven’t sewn blanket stitch for years. I have a project that requires Blanket Stitch.
How do you start the stitch?
Hi @tgailw1982, To start a blanket stitch. I place the knot in the fold of the seam allowance about 1/4" from the edge of my project. It will first feel like it's incorrect. But the stitch begins to take shape after the 2nd or 3rd stitch. Let me know if that works for you. Happy stitching! -Audrah
Nice one
Thank you for sharing this video
So glad you enjoyed it! I will have a skirt block video out very soon! So stay tuned! :-)
I loved it when you gave us the directions
I'm glad this has been helpful! I plan to make more short stitch videos in the future. If you need more details I make slightly longer videos on various hand- stitches as well!
@@newheritagewool I think they were being sarcastic correct me if im wrong- (idk if they didn't realize u gave directions but personally the way they typed it sounded really sarcastic to me)
I’m deadass so pissed at this creator for the lack of helpful info
Omg this was so useful thank you!!

Thank you! I'm so happy you enjoyed the video! More frequent content & projects coming soon!
Wow what a process. So creative
Thanks so much! 😊
Nice
Love how it's turning out. I'm hoping watching your journey will help me gain the courage to sew myself a coat someday.
What area of making a coat is most intimidating to you? For me.... it's everything ha ha. But I love every moment and enjoy solving the puzzle. Maybe start small with a summer jacket/ blazer, and then work your way up to a coat. If you ever have any questions send them my way. I'm always happy to help when I can. :-)
Amazing work Aunt Jo - Emma
I'm really excited to see this project progress. I loved the fashion illustration segment. This is going to be a great channel.
Thank you Jessica! I’m excited as well! 😊
