I wanna sit below it that’s cool!
As long as you don't mind cold water lol. Here's the Google maps and the Wikipedia link for it. It's a really beautiful area. maps.app.goo.gl/mxsPyzt3NKs1gnLRA en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_Geyser
Hobo shoestring did a video of Helper
Oh really!? I'll have to watch it, i like Hobo Shoestring.
wow i love the train union pacific 1983
I really like it also!
yes I like
what is the weight, speed of that train? thank you
Each locomotive weighs between 350000 lbs to 400000 lbs, each car carries 100 tons of coal, and the train is roughly going about 10 to 15 mph.
Nice grab of the Slow Ride up the Summit.
Thank you!
truly enjoyable.the rail road is the second largest user of fuel oil other than the navy.
I think that's a very interesting fact!
Awesome… Thanks for the tip !!
You're welcome!
Beautiful catch and capture of the Wildcat at work !!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Jamming it through Carbonville !!
Yes they were! I'm not sure how fast they were going, but track speed is 50mph. There's a third video of this train where they were going through the next town know as Wellington Utah.th-cam.com/video/fdCJXkpBamA/w-d-xo.html
Love the setting here with a good train too !!
Yes, it was interesting and I like that they honked at me.
I'll always follow you good video friend🚂🔥✨👌🏼💯
Thank you, I appreciate you watching! I really enjoy your videos too!
Cool shot and catch !!
Thank you!
Fabulous find !!
Thank you!!
What’s the full locomotive roster for this little railroad? I know they have those 2 AZER GP8s and that SD50, but I didn’t know that they got an SD60 from UP.
One of the gp8's were scrapped, so there's only one of them. It was the one that had a flat plate on the front. They also have the Grey SD50 and the EX UP SD60 feat in this video. It's just those 3 locomotives they use to switch the oil cars around between Wildcatyard and Martin yard. Union Pacific use their power to bring empty tankers in and then to take loaded trains out.
@ Oh, they cut one up? That’s a shame. Good to know the other is still working,
@joshthetrainfan yes indeed it is a shame. They took the motor and took the trucks out and left the cab, frame, and carbody sitting in Martin next to the yard wye by the maintenance shop.
@ wow so it is literally a shell of its former self
Yes it is basically just a shell. What they left of it has been sitting their since January of this year.
What a beauty!
Yes, i was surprised to see how clean it was.
Beautiful backdrop, also.
I think so too!
Awesome bro... Cool find !!
Yes they are! Thank you, I almost missed them lol.
The Wildcat's are awesome !!
Yes they are, I like their power they use.
Awesome... Nice find !!
Yes it was!
Outstanding capture of the awesome Wildcat engine working the tracks !!
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Heck ya!
And they wonder why they "break" knuckles, when they strain them as much as this?
It is.
This is just fabulous. Very well done !!
Thank you!
Im from the netherlands but love these trains, the locks are so strong!
Yes indeed! The couplers are very strong, I have a broken knuckle that was given to me, and it weighs about 80 lbs or about 36 kg!
Lol
Lol indeed 🤣
Faked
Your fake.
Canadian railfan here. Where is this Soldier Summit? California? That is quite the sight to see 7 locomotives with barely 100 hoppers struggle to climb that grade! Our coal trains originating out of Hinton, Alberta, can be up to 220 units in length while being transported by only 3 locomotives! Mind you, our trains seem to have a mostly DOWNHILL 475 mile cruise from Hinton to the SW BC coast..
Thank you for your comment! Soldier Summit is located in eastern Utah. It has a ruling grade of 2.5% or 1:40, on both going up and going down, hence why the need for so many locomotives. I really like your description of the coal trains you see. I'd love to see one's that long! Here's a link to a website with more information on it: www.drgw.net/info/SoldierSummit
@jamesedwards9857 I would happily post the video directly onto your page or, even simpler, directly into your comments like I can on Facebook. I have not figured out how to accomplish that task on TH-cam yet. Still in beginner stage here lol
@robertgates5053 Unfortunately, youtube doesn't let you post videos or links in the comments. But if you're using your phone, in the regular video app you can use the Little + button on the bottom of the screen to upload videos, or you can also use the yt studio mobile app. Or if you're on a computer, you can use the yt studio website to upload videos directly. Also, if you want to post your Facebook profile and I'll friend or follow it with my account.
@jamesedwards9857 I will get it figured out, by hook or by crook lol
I would love to live in Helper. I work in Helper but cant seem to find a place to live. It's me my wife and 3 kids if you know of any places
Unfortunately I don't know any places, look on Facebook or mabye try asking your coworkers.
Thank you for the great video. I have always wanted to see helpers being added to a train.
You're welcome! I'm glad you liked the video!
The diesel power is indispensable for global economy… 💪💪➡️ 🚂 👍👍
Yes, indeed the world would surely be a different place without them.
Just awasome diesel power!
Yes it is!
great video
I'm glad you liked it!
Tremenda caceria 🚂🔥👍🏼✨💯✔️
I wonder why the open doors on the locos.
Engineer farted.
Magnificent catches of the train coming by and pass, I like it 5 stars. Thumbs up. Hearing that amazing diesel sound and cars coming through is absolutely crazy. Keep up the perfect work, my friend, I just liked and subscribed your channel, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
Thank You! Greetings from the USA to Portugal! Watch the other videos just before this one to see the beginning of this trains journey and the rest of it before this video.
@@jamesedwards9857 i will, my friend.
@LisbonRailProductionsandF1 Great thank you. I hope you enjoy them!
@@jamesedwards9857 oh yeah.
@@jamesedwards9857 do you like model trains.
Going back for a refill?
No, they are loaded. Watch the other videos of this train to see the cars from above.
I was surprised to see so many C & N W cars. they have to be at least 30 years old !!
I was also surprised to them! They're definitely at least 30 years old.
Nice catch 👍🏼
Thank you! 😊
Same view as sitting at a xing WOW!!?????
I was about 500 feet~ across on the other side of the canyon zoomed in about 5x.
That's quite a mix of foreign power! This NS and CN locos are pretty far from home.
Yes, they certainly were! That's why I love BNSF trains in Utah bc they seem to have more variety than UP trains. But that's also just bc it's UP territory, so there's not as much of a chance for them to have foreign power.
@@jamesedwards9857 Are BNSF coal trains on this route a regular occurrence? Any idea where they load?
@BoostedFridge no they don't run coal trains very often on this line. but they do have multiple manifest trains that run between Denver Colorado and Provo Utah that use the line, and those are almost daily each direction. Also I don't know where they get loaded at i assume somewhere east of Denver, since they took this train West from Denver over the Moffat pass and then Soldier Summit and points further.
@@jamesedwards9857 They could possibly load at Price and head west from there. I have seen them at Garfield headed west on the old WP tracks (now UP) headed toward Elko.
@snoopysanta1 Utah Railway used to load at savage between Wellington and Price, but now it's just UP that loads from there. The BNSF loads them somewhere in Colorado or elsewhere.
Like1 Excellent footage👍🏼✨🥇🦅
Great! Thank you! I'm extremely proud of how it turned out.
Takes quite a bit of time to change and add the helper engines Should have timed utube
What do you mean?
Ogden right?
Yes
That’s when it was up north by like salt lake right?
Yes
I saw the Tom and Jerry graffiti in Grantsville Utah
That's really cool!
Raising a ruckus in Carbonville... Cool catch and video of the work taking place !!
Thank you!
Love the sight and sound… Awesome !!
Many thanks! The ex UP locomotive is a SD60, so it has a EMD710 motor, and the grey one is a SD50, so it has an EMD645 motor. So if you listen closely, you can hear the slight differences between the two of them.
@@jamesedwards9857 Yeah pretty killer.. Thanks for the explanation too 👍🏼
Your welcome!
Those are some cool looking engines !!
I think so too! It's such a shame that the G&W painted most of them in their boring orange and black corporate colors.
Fantastic filming of Union Pacific pushing the tank cars to the yard !!
Thank you! I wish it was the Utah railway doing instead of UP, but it's at least good that they still use the yard.
Nice Snag of the Union Pacific coal cars cruising through Price !!
Yes indeed! Thank you!
