Yes, when the random switch was engaged, it did give different winners and different placements for the other riders. I'm sure I remember the winner being unpredictable but also the unpredictability did allow the same rider to win occasionally. Unbelievable, I never thought I would ever see another one. I bought my Big Bike Race some 52 years ago at the tender age of sixteen with my first wages after constantly seeing it in a local shop as I walked past the window. When my mum passed away six years ago, the only item I wanted was this game. To me, it is priceless. Looking at it, my thoughts are instantly transported back to those childhood days where I sat around with my mum and younger brothers, betting pennies that Mum saved for us, laughing hysterically and shouting at the riders to encourage our chosen rider to the winning line. Sadly, mine no longer works, and for many years I have tried to find someone to repair it, but unfortunately, none could be found, but I still have hope. I do have one missing rider, and if I did manage to have it repaired, it was my intention to make another one out of wood. Thank you so much for giving me back those memories.

Astro shooter is 100 times better than this. It’s bigger, has lockouts, rollovers and a bonus Kane that goes underneath the playfield and shoots out the other side. It’s about 1/2 as noisy as this. And no batteries. It has a power adapter.

My mother had one of those when I was very young in the early 1960s. I'm pretty sure it was the same model. I found this video when I did a Google search in preparation for a podcast where I reminisce about my mother playing the organ. Thanks so much for giving me a peek inside this amazing instrument and bring back so many fond memories. I never knew how it worked. FYI you would play the melody with you right hand on the keyboard and push the chord buttons with your left hand. You would put your thumb on the base note in the rightmost column and then play the remainder of the cord with one of the other buttons in that same row. I tinkered around with it a little bit myself as a child and could pick out simple melodies playing by ear. It was especially handy for my mom because she could only read the trebble clef (right hand) as sheet music. She never learned to read sheet music from the base clef. She would get music that had guitar chords printed above the staff. When we got the Hammond, she learned how to play chords with her left hand and would again use the chord symbols from guitar music. We only had it for a couple of years and then she upgraded to a Hammond. Again thanks so much for reinvigorating my fond memories of my childhood from nearly 60 years ago. (I will turn 70 in July).

I just bought a Sinclair 1000 off eBay and the keyboard does not work so I plan to open it up soon and try this fix. I can’t wait to see if I can fix it like you did yours. PS. I bought one new back in the mid - 80s. Still have it but some years ago when I tried it the tracking carriage was not moving properly. Watching the action carefully, it looks like the arm is on some kind of horizontal pivot or hinge. As the record tracks drag the cartridge to the left, the arm pivots to follow. Eventually, the position of the arm being pivoted triggers the carriage to move left. Now the arm is pivoted slightly to the right, until it is dragged left again and the process repeats. Anyway, one of these days I'll try cleaning whatever rail on which the carriage moves, and having read brianshaw373's comment, I guess I'll use Deoxit on the contacts underneath. Thank you for the info. It's good to watch someone else find their way to the guts before trying to disassemble oneself.

I cant get the bottom loop to stay. It gets sucked up and then I get a bouncy picture. Any fix?

I'm experiencing an issue with my projector, which is the same model as yours. The left disc refuses to rotate. I do it manually and it does project the image, but it won't spin and won't advance the tape Can you help me please?
