Join me for a walk through of the Sherwin-Williams Business Training Centre. The centre is based in a town called #Lelystad in the Netherlands and an interesting fact about the town is that it used to be a lake but the land was reclaimed and because of that it sits 3m below the sea level. I am at the BTC to learn more about the company, see some new products and pick up some new techniques. #co...

It’s always great to get a demo from a manufacturer and even better when I’m allowed to test it my way. Chris came by, applied the 2k glue to a test panel and left it with me to mess around with. I am not endorsing this product and I am not affiliated with innotec but I am giving you my honest opinion base on this very rough test, where it could so easily have failed. #bumperrepair #damageundon...

Hey Brian. Hope you are doing well.. how are you getting on with the octoral paint scheme, seeing its bben a couple of years since you have had it.. im looking to get it myself. Thanks for all the videos you do
Hiya, like every scheme it isn’t perfect but on a whole it’s spot on and I enjoy using it. Sherwin-Williams are continually developing it and bringing out new products. Their pf345 primer is excellent and fast and their waterbase dries quickly 👍
Hi Brian thanks for reply.. how are the colour matches treating you iv seen lads going edge to edge anytimes.. also that lovely masterflow booth is doing a lovely job, smoke test was great on the test run.. that brings me to my next question 😂. How could I get a little quote on paint scheme and pain booth. I understand it was originally more for smart repairs but it looks like it's in full swing now 😂👍 I'm just trying to get myself set up Bern doing as much research as I possibly can before taking the plunge 😅 thank you ever so much Brian loyal subscriber here love every video I appreciate how much time it takes to record everything
Great repair Wayne. Do you have any concerns about doing repairs on cars that have ADAS? I'm concerned that any material I apply near or over these systems may have a detrimental effect on their performance. What are your thoughts? Thanks.
Hiya, I have the same concerns as you and I make my customers very aware of this and what problems it can create. However this car did not have a radar in that area but if it had and the customer still wanted it done then I would have had it recalibrated at my local ADAS centre. This would have been an additional cost. I have tried to ask the manufactures to allow me to do a weld, so we can test the results but no one came back to me. It leaves me with mixed feelings.
@@damageundoneltd, mobile guys don't have access to centers like you do. Besides, basic touch up is easier on the body! Have a good weekend!
Hi Wayne, it's great to see a longer video from you as you do these so well mate with plenty of detail informing us of what you are doing and why👌the job came out looking very nice and I hope the DV1 is working well for you🤔 Couple of (probably stupid) questions if I may Wb, was that job not suitable for UV putty as it didn't look that big plus from what I could see it didn't look a very deep repair or is it that the UV putty isn't flexible enough. Also you mentioned a maximum distance that the UV lamp can be from the panel but is there a minimum distance as I've seen some people with the UV torches place the lamp right on the repair so it's touching the panel and on bonnets they just stand it on the bonnet and leave it there turned on🤔🤷♂thanks for sharing this Wayne👍
Nice work mate
Thanks. It is a long video but hopefully interesting at the same time 👍
Sounds great
Great work, can I use this pur welding method to ace tech material for my cracked paddle board
Providing your board is PUR, i cannot see why not
This is what I found about the product it’s Polyester Recycled Polyester Nylon Polyamide Recycled Nylon Spandex Lycra Modal. So not sure if this is same to pur?
"ASA Polymer outer skin" refers to a protective layer made from Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate (ASA) plastic do you think this can be welded material?
Totally different material. PUR is polyurethane. You need to find the correct plastic to repair the board, they can’t be mixed
@@damageundoneltd great thank you so it looks like they make ASA glue stick. Not not available in my area. Thanks again for the video going to try reach out to manufacture
Hi Wayne. What spray guns and tips are you using now for you smart repairs. Thanks from Kiwi
Hiya, My primary smart repairs base gun is the Sagola mini xtreme 1.2 aqua cap. If I’m doing larger areas I’ll swap it for the 3M performance spray gun with a fine nozzle 1.2 or the Meiji finer core 1.3 (great gun) Clear, used to be the Sagola 4600 xtreme 1.2xl DVR cap but that got knocked off top spot by the 1.3mm Sata 5500 CC, absolutely brilliant
As you know i do smart repairs. Looking for 1 gun. Do you think the 3 m performance gun would do the trick for me. Base coat clear coats..? Your thoughts mate Merry Xmas to you and family.....
Anyone sharppen the dinibbing tool ?
I’m not sure it is possible but let me know
Great tip 🙏
Cheers, I’m glad you liked it 👍
Great video Wayne, saw this on your other channel it's just a simple but effective way to find your primer or WoW grey shade👍
It certainly is jb. Ps I had a little package arrive yesterday, that I’ll share with you all in the coming week or two 🤫
Ah nice mate I hope you like it🤐👍
Great tip and great spray out cards.
Thank you for watching and commenting 👍
Good job! For Leon 2014, is it the same procedure?
I’m not sure
Hi Wayne, that's an amazing bit of kit which should save on waste and make it faster for body shops to mix the paint, I was surprised as to the small mixes it can do which is very difficult by hand to get the mix accurate, do you know if you have to load the tinters in the machine for each mix or does it hold all the available tinters then select them as needed🤔 Looking forward to seeing this being used in your shop Wb🤭😂I laugh but maybe you will get one🤔🤷♂👍
🤣 it would be wasted in my shop All the tinters are held in the machine and topped up when they run low
Ah it's just that the other one I saw was the one that Gabe (Motivated Painters) had he uses PPG and his was a carrousel type setup holding around 15 tinters so he had to load them manually onto the machine for each mix, for some reason he no longer has it.
@JohnWD40TC02 he prob doesn’t have it because it’s was too slow. PPG now have the moonwalk and that’s fully automated, quite a different look to it too
What's the name of the pad? Is it a ShineMate pad?
Hi, I don’t know who the original manufacturer is but I do know that these are sold by Farecla to compliment their G360 polish
@damageundoneltd Thanks, it seems to be: FARECLA G-MOP 6 GMC650 :)
De beer products too?
Yes they have a selection of brands under the Sherwin-Williams brand
Did you have the 3M PPS 2.0 adapter P/N 26127 S31 Type on that rig?
No, this is the colad #snaplid cup system and adapter
What a fantastic place Wayne you are so lucky to have the chance to go there, it was such a shame we had the sound issues when you was demonstrating the VR spraying thingy (sorry not sure what it's called😁) but it didn't take away from how amazing it is I would like to try that out as it's an amazing bit of tech👏👍
Yeah, it was a shame and we don’t know why that was.
Nice video mate from Kiwi
There will be more content coming
Nice

It is best to ask your local Sherwin-Williams/octoral paint supplier
Helped me to change the break light on mine I couldn’t figure it out where is access to the bulb thanks
You’re very welcome and thank you for letting me know that it helped 👍
Do they both sand the same? Ive tried the fine but i want to order the coarse to try that because id like to start using these for dent work. The fine sands pretty hard so just curious if the coarse sands the same or not.
Hiya, you’ll find that the coarse is much easier to sand. I don’t have any issues with sanding the fine colad putty but I only is it to skim pinholes or fill in paint chips
Very comprehensive demo on how the UV curing system works, for what I do a lamp like you have is just not worth the expense but what's useful for me is the UV putty as it cures very quickly even with my small lamp, I also have a rattle can of the Final Systems UV primer which is ideal for cut throughs after sanding plus I find the rattle can UV primer gives a good build👌 What I am interested in is those interface pads you use as they look really good for sanding primer to avoid those dreaded cut throughs, I remember you demoing them a long while back and I said then I liked them but I didn't get any but I think they would be very useful👍
Hi Jb The Skeletime system is fantastic and I swear by them as a backing pad and interface kit. Unfortunately, they have yet to find a decent uk distributor, so it’s online purchases and shipping from Italy only. If you contact them and quote “DAMAGE UNDONE” they were doing a little deal www.skeletime.com/products/
Thanks for the reply Wayne, it's a shame they don't have a uk distributor as I think this product would be quite popular, yeah they are more expensive but it's a unique product so there must have been more R&D expenses and better quality. Thanks for the link and the code, I'm determined to get the kit asap but I'm having some health issues to sort out and have the docs yet again tomorrow so it's always on my mind.
Excellent repair.
Very interesting video thanks Wayne.
I'm trying to restore a PolyUrethane bumper, glass fibre reinforced i think, PUR-GF- 20 it says on the bumper. The thing is i have no cracks to repair but there is two "flaps" on the backside that is meant to hold the bumper onto the car with screws. One has partly started to get loose and the other one is completely gone. I have started to learn basic plastic welding and thought that i could fix this by welding the loose one with some reinforcements and make new one for the one that are missing. But i got very disappointed when i understood welding in PolyUrethane does not work, at least not with my simple tools. Is there any glue or other chemical method that bonds well with PU?
Hi To hot weld PUR you need an airless welder and as far as I’m aware there isn’t a welding rod with that mix currently available. You can cold weld or chemical weld it and for that there are loads of 2k pu adhesive options available, you will just need to google those
The only of repairing Vinyl is doing this.
I've got a early 1983 Audi Quattro that has a cracked airdam, looks to be polyurethane but the material is a black color, believe it's the same material as used in Porsche 944 fonrt air dam black color, need to know if I can use a repair glue or the technique you just used? I'm assuming polyurethane can be black color also?
Hi, I have seen black pur but majority of the times it yellow. There should be a plastic identification stamp on it. Have a look for that, if you can’t see it then do a test weld or if you want to cold/chemical weld it then just read the data sheet to check it’ll work on all plastics
@@damageundoneltd no plastic type identification on the back side, has some date codes but that’s it. Most early 70-80’s semi flexible plastics are polyurethane, and I’m not surprised that Mercedes you show in the video is using this process still. I purchased this kit to repair the damaged cracked air dam, but I contacted the mfg asked if the product would work they answered yes, Vicrez vzr101 Auto Body Plastic Bumper Repair Kit. Going to scuff up a spot on the backside of the air dam today and attempt a surface adhesion test before grinding back the cracks and attempting the repairs, wish me luck!
@blkcoupequattro ok cool, good luck I had to fix this today instagram.com/reel/DADfuV7Mgcv/?igsh=MWJtMnBsY21jbTBkbg==
I bought the walcom ego as i heard great things about it but sadly i just cant spray well with it no matter how i tried to set it up , might just be me but been sat in its box collecting dust i have a ani 150 that produces better results and my old sri lite
Ok, I’m sorry to hear this. I believe it is a great spraygun but it does depend on which one you’ve got. Maybe you could share this with me and what the issues you’re getting are and then I could help you. Alternatively if you are in the uk I can ask the uk md and tech to give you a call. He is very helpful
Music is overwhelming the voice. Can barely hear you.
I’ve just listened back to it and I don’t think it is but I will be more aware of your concern on the next one 👍
Nice job as always Wayne, the Innotec looks like a good product as the result was a strong repair🙏☝
Like with all these products it isn’t suited to all plastics or plastic repairs but it worked well on this one
Would be good to compare it to the fast mover, proxl or upol 2k glue. This it £30 compared to 10 or 15
You are right there is quite a difference in prices and in the past I have used both the fast mover and Proxl but not the upol. It could be very possible that some of these adhesives come from the same manufacturer but unless I have all 4 side by side and I can check lot numbers etc it very difficult to tell. I am always open to testing product side by side to see how they perform, if they differ and how
Very impressive repair.
If it was a real repair then I’d have spent a little longer on it and it would have looked better but this was a test to see how well it performed. I honestly did not expect it to hold because we had not cleaned the area thoroughly and I wouldn’t say that I keyed it that well either. So yip I was impressed
Superb finish there Wayne, I can't remember seeing the Colad UV fine putty used over a large area like that before was that just to level it or to fill pin holes🤔 Maybe none of the above🤦♂
All I do is press the key pad twice and the rear door's open as well as the boot.
That’s great but I’m not showing you how to unlock the doors, I’m showing you how to remove the door handle 👍
Loved watching this. Where do you get the Kovax equipment and consumables ? Thank you
Thanks for the comment and question. Here is a link to find your local kovax distributor www.kovax.eu/our-partners/find-a-dealer
Very nice job there Wayne and the instructions were very clear and easy to understand. I do like the Colad UV putty as it cures fast even with my little lamp it's only around 10 seconds but I do tend to apply thinner coats to build it up, I also like the Final Systems UV primer in the rattle can as I don't use it that much so it seems to keep better👌 Thanks as always for your videos👍
Beautiful job 👏
Thank you
Can you wear glasses with this?
Yes, you can. I have to wear glasses and have not issues
No commentary
Yes you’re correct 👍
Perfect. I just had the bottom lip pop out last night on the front door.
Thanks, I’m glad it helped you

Another professional job Wayne the Finer Core is a great gun for base and clear, as you know Pete's Hobbies lent me his Finer Core and I've really enjoyed using it and used it for base the first time the other day it was just as good as my DV1, I'm considering getting one of these or the new 4600 but I can't decide which🙄😆 Thanks for sharing Wb👏👍
