I think my host family is mistaken an aupair with a maid. They want me to do all of the house chores. I said I won't be doing those things and they keeps calling me "maid". I don't have enough courage to talk back or argue. I'm quite introverted and shy. I'm planning to go back to my country and never come back again. It may kind of like ghosting. But I don't even want to sit down and talk anymore. The kids are greats tho. I feel sorry for the kids.

which platform did you use to apply to the au pair program? i'm thinking about being an au pair in the US but there are so many websites... Do you think they are all trustworthy?

Put it like this: When you start a job in America, you have to take training on how to survive an active shooter scenario. They don’t have that in Europe. I cried when I realized that. It’s exhausting to live in a place where you have to get trained on how to survive a day at work.

So why ask when they don't care? It seems a little redundant. Just say Hi or Hello, no? In Europe if someone asks something you are certain they are interested and want to have a genuine discussion with you about something. In USA it's just confusing. How does someone ask if they really want an answer? They say How are you doing and then you only say Fine and you will come across as rude. It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever...
