    Think deeply about the underlying message of the book, look towards the end and there is a long list of establishment figures that sponsored the book. Clearly the cretins that wrote the book did so so serve the interests of certain political and economic interests. The book you should review is A Fatherless People by Dele Ogun.

    • @veritas2048
      @veritas2048 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They go so far as to re order the timeline to make it look like Nigeria came into existence in Dan Fodio's lifetime. An absolutely fraudulent attempt to give the Fulani a claim to the whole estate.

    • @tomiadedeji
      @tomiadedeji 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not the conclusion I got from the book. History is history, Dan Fodio's jihad happened and it impacted events whether we like it or not. For one, it contributed to the rise of Ilorin and Oyo's decline....to say that makes Nigeria Fulani property is funny. The book did not imply that, neither should you.

    • @veritas2048
      @veritas2048 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomiadedeji It appears you failed to understand the point I was making. It would be nice if you were not to put words in my mouth. I did not for once imply that Nigeria was a Fulani estate, however if you were to look deeply into the history of this unfortunate country, you would see that it was planned that way by the British and a lot of the information fed to the people subliminally reinforces this fallacy in their minds. This formation book is no different. There is the truth and then the official narrative, this book feeds into the official narrative 100%. Now what do you mean by the jihad contributing to Oyo’s decline? That is a bit presumptuous, especially as Oyo was already a spent force and was on its last legs. Plus Ilorin never rose, the Fulani through subterfuge and betrayal took ilorin, but they had their asses handed to them at Osogbo 16 years later. The only reason why an emirate exists in ilorin today is because Lugard propped them up, as they suited his purposes. History is history? Well the third is that it can be couched and twisted to reflect whichever view one wished to prop up. Maybe you ought to look deeply at the timelines. The truth about these silly emirates, how they has imploded, but lugard saw the Fulani as useful idiots and how in actuality maybe you guys give those pseudo Arabs too much credit.
