Agreed!
Hey scott.. TC sent me...
Hey Chris! Pleasure to meet you!
Wow!! The Gardow is a generous man! Get some sleep!!
Thanks! I recorded this at 5am or so. Yes, he really is!!!
That package must have weighed quite a bit.
@@amitychief3061 indeed, it did!
P.S Nice that two bands/artists from here in New Jersey are big inspirations for his work- Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi!
He also has one I Will Come Runnin' released right after this one and understandable he's a very private person who had to walk away from music, but it's still sad. I first heard Peter Goalby in the Wolverhampton based band Fable- his first and 1973. Then of course Trapeze and Uriah Heep. I gave a CD with bonus tracks of Abominog to turn some kids onto the man's voice and those songs, but here in America I have no idea.. Always loved the earthy UK sounds of the 60s/70s/80s. Many geniuses at work.
Let It Ride is a really good song, but sounds like a Status Quo rip off (which is not as bad as it might sound!)
It was 1974 I went to a concert where Lynyrd Skynyrd was second billing. I had never heard a single song by Uriah Heep (who was top billing. Lynyrd Skynyrd just concluded playing freebird, an extended version. I could not imagine that the next group could outdo that. The first song was Sonrise and Ken hit it just right. David was quite theractial and seem to move exactly with the music. I was stunned. I came to the concert as a Skynyrd fan and left as a Uriah Heep fan. The show went on and they played a 30 min version of Gypsy. I do hope you can find a copy of the extended version. I got a bootleg copy but the sound is not so good.
Thank you for recording and sharing the videos. I would like to know how to mapp the layers in Engine to Ableton live tracks using the channels like you did in Cakewalk. Any help is appreciated.
You are welcome. Thanks for watching! I have worked very little with Ableton but I would imagine it is similar. If you are part of any Ableton groups you could ask there or even write the company directly. Link to the video, if you like, so they can see exactly what you mean. Give them timestamps to look at as well.
@@ScottHaskinMusic Wow, thank you for your super fast response. I think I figured it out by watching how rounting is done in Ableton/Kontakt, the applied the same on Ableton/Engine. The solution is to use "External Instrument" device from the Ableton library. Thank you Again Scott.
@@hypedkicksclub9220 Sweet!
One question though...how do you record the notes into a daw with the green note mods, when I try to record it will only record the notes not with the green mods
Unfortunately, that isn’t something I have experienced. I would first make sure you have the most recent Engine update. If that does not solve your issue, you may need to reach out to Best Service directly. Good luck!
@@ScottHaskinMusic Thanks for your quick reply! It was for the overtone loops of the bone flute I believe. You can change the overall pattern with the left hand right? For some reason it wasn't getting that change with the left hand recorded, I saw someone else had the same problem. I just downloaded it a couple of weeks ago, but I will try it again. Maybe it was one of those glitches! Thank you : )
Oh, I see. I don’t typically use loops in my actual recordings, so I am not sure. If it is just that one sound, it is probably a glitch that can be corrected if you let them know.
@@ScottHaskinMusic Thank You! I will do that and Much appreciated!
@@dragondreamjln Fingers crossed!
I love the comment “…I feel like they added cylinders just to fire on”
Uriah heep was the most unique band of my era. Captivating stories, and spell binding lyrics. A cross of heavy metal with intricate over tones of symphonic style piano and melodic movements and subtle resolve. Fantastic vocals and mixed harmonies with some Erie vocal effects. Magicians was mystical melodic bliss.
Same thoughts here. Theyre musically superior. I got into Zep, Sabbath, UH etc. in late 80's. UH just makes more things happen.
Love this tune ...IT JUST WORKS !! .
The band sounds angry here ....good song !!! ...first heard on box set "time of revelation" in 1996 ...the tape thing at the end was not heard on the box set . Lawton was great ! .
Loooove Mythos! Thanks for the interview!
Me too (if it wasn’t obvious)! Thank you so much for watching!
Just got done listening to this gem ....LOVE IT !!!!! ...🤘👍🤘👍
Great vocalist ...great guy !! ...MR. PETER GOALBY !!!
He's one of my faves too! Do you have the Fable record his very first from 1973? It's really great and was the first I heard of him in the year 1996. Very much a hybrid of melodic early 70s and some harder edged rock. Where is Peter Goalby now? The UK had a lot of greats, but he's in my top 5 personally.
@@benmitchner2172 ...I never listened to fable but it's about time I do ! ...loved him in heep & trapeze . So I'm sure it's good ! . 👍
@@michaelkoszowski3716 It's really, really good! Love the Goalby Heep and Trapeze and both those bands are dynamite! Great music from across the pond!

URIAH HEEP British LEGENDS since 1969 to present
Great interview! ✨
Thank you so much! It is easy with such an amazing guest!
SUPERBAND HEEP AND LOST...WOW ...FANTASTIC !!!!
I thought this had something to do with David copperfield
No, this is related to the band Uriah Heep. The only connection to the book is the origin of the band’s name.
Bonus track off sonic origami ...terrific .
It’s a real delight to hear so much wisdom from such a fabulous musician. Yes, you have some huge shoes to fill, but you do so with such grace that you almost make it seem easy. Kudos to you, Conrado!! And thank you very much for showcasing such an amazing player/composer/producer, Scott! Keep up the great work, man!🤘🏼
This guy is a MONSTER player...and a great producer! Big fan here.
The lyrics to this song is second to none ...especially in 2023 ...just frick' awesome ...then i like how it blends in to "change" ...👍
Great interview Scott and Tony! Very insightful!
Thanks. He’s really easy to talk to.
Underated song off excellent sonic orgami ...they used to play this in live sets in the late 90's and well into the 2000's . 👍
Another one of my favorites !!! ...erie beginning & end . Mick's solo's are unbelievable!!!!!!
Why it says „Between to Worlds“ in the description then?
Beautiful as a song gets ....another great song from an unbelievable record "sea of light" ...simply majestic .
Incredible song to open this fantastic record "sea of light" this fits in with all those great early records .
Great number With intensity !! ..love it .
Rainbow Rising is the best rainbow album
It's incredible how many groups, musicians and really good music sprung from Deep Purple. Truly "the largest band in the world". I am personally grateful to Tony Carey for his contribution to the Rainbow. Stargazer accompanied some of the most crucial moments of my life and I still cary it in my heart...
Hey, I have _"Lucky Us"_ !! 🙂 ... although I don't have the deluxe edition. Thanks for the link!
What a great guy, Tony Carey! Blackmore, the intellectual dwarf, could not stand the good heart, the talent, and the long beautiful hair Tony had (still has). You know, it was right after Tony's departure that Blackmore got that ugly wig. Well never mind. Rising was a miracle anyways and asking for more would be greedy. God bless Blackmore, Toney Carey, Powell and Dio. All forces of universe coming together. Merry Christmas everybody. Hope 2024 will bring peace to the world.
Don't forget Jimmy Bain, he was awesome.... :)
@@tonycareyofficial4553 Absolutely, Bain was a perfect fit. He just laid it down, no messing about. Bain, Blackmore, Carey, Dio and Powell. The legion of doom. When you listen to A light in the black, live on the bootlegs, it’s on the edge of meltdown. Blackmore had to dissolve that lineup or the whole universe would collapse.
'Legion of Doom!?? Love it....@@Hellephantino
@@tonycareyofficial4553 thomas from wolfsburg here, thanks for the interview, it's nice to be able to write and comment on youtube, too.
My favorite !
Sea of light is one of their best !! ...time of revelation should of been a hit . In my top 5 of heep songs . Excellent.
Cool ...i will sign . Crazy that they are not in already ! Bunch of nonsense . people don't have a clue up there in Cleveland.
Thank you for interviewing Tony. From the early days of his career to his most recent release ‘Lucky Us’. To his relocation to Germany vs his Californian upbringing. I hope Tony releases a dvd of his recent shows, just Keyboard,Guitar,Vocals and Storytelling.
I have just bought a physical CD of ‘Lucky Us’, soon after your interview.
@@LEEFORDJAGG That was you? :) Thanks...
Yes it was Tony. I am fairly new to your music at 61 years old.Your work with Rainbow was my introduction to your talents. Many years later I picked up your Pink World on vinyl recently in the U.K. Any plans to tour the U.K? I love the idea of your solo show Keyboard,Guitar,Vocals plus stories & reminiscences.
Very nice man, musician and performer is Bernie. Had the pleasure to have met. As with Mick Box who carried on with running the band after the sad demise of certain key musicians in the band in the mid 70's. Mick has always been the main member to this day with the responsibilities of choosing all the different musicians within Uriah Heep. For myself, their hayday was in the mid 70's from the bands inception in late 1960's until the sad demise of their irreplaceable, unique bassist Gary Thain and their vocalist David Byran. Remarkably still going today!! 😊
I'm almost 100% certain I bought some Guilty Goat as a Christmas present for my brother and his family not that long ago. He absolutely loved it!
That's fantastic!!!
HI, thanks Scott for all your interesting insights. I thought Phil Lanzon was the lead singer on most part there (not for the magic high note befor the band joins, though) as suggested by this video th-cam.com/video/IFVmZ81IbBw/w-d-xo.html
Too scared to run, Abominog 👊😉
Goalby sings "it's so dark in this tomb" leading me to believe he's a dead guy (Jesus) anticipating his resurrection, waiting for the angels to "Roll Away the Rock" that is sealing the tomb.... The song borders on being rock opera..... The other 80a song you mentioned " (Ain't) Nothin But A Good Time" is Poison and is (IMO) a weak comparison for any of Uriah Heep's tunes....
