Should you change the surface
depends on your style or if you want a different reaction. a lower number surface pad will bring the hook spot closer to you while a higher number will push it further down lane.

I have it and it is a great burn ball.
It’s a smoother shape, was my bail out ball for a while
The ball isn’t even for sale no more.
You can find them through third party sites, plus some PSOs have them lying around
My brother has one and he kinda hated it, probably because he was looking for a Hy-Road Pearl type reaction and the ReX cover is too strong. He then took the surface down to 2000 and now he uses it on the fresh 😂
Yeah it can be a little too early at times, Longer pins can help that out, or raising the surface on them

This has got to be one of the most legendary pieces of equipment in all of sports given its longevity. I have one that was released in '08 and it still hits like an absolute tank.
Ball has definitely stood the test of time.
They just don't make them like this anymore. Would gladly take this over stuff like the Attention Star and Crimson Jackal. Also, if the VEBO has more asymmetry than the UC2, would drilling a larger first angle help offset that asymmetry and bring the balls closer together?
they are close already from the covers, so a touch larger first angle on a VEBO should be very close to the shape of a UC2.

I've had my summit since October 2023 and I love it! Bowled my highest game -277- and series with it -720. I agree that it does feel awkward at times when releasing it, but assumed it was just user error haha

Also depends on the drilling, mine is a 4 inch pin to pap and 5 inch pin to Cog, but yes lower surface looks great
