Great Technic, I have a deviated septum and vasomotor rhinitis, I am not sure that the vasomotor rhinitis is caused by the septum deviation. I hope one day the techniques of treatment will be available in my country.
Do you use the Inspire with this sleep test?
I can’t fall asleep with mine on, and I end up taking it off or else I wouldn’t sleep at all. Ugh! 🤦🏻♂️
Need help
Wow if only I had the money to afford fucking any of this.
How do you find an ENT locally who does something like this? All the ENTs I went to just stuck a scope up my nose and said they didn’t find any physical obstruction.
Can any ent dr do this procedure ?
I did my sleep study last night! The belt is too large even though I adjusted it clear to where it plugs into the unit!!!! They need to provide skinny people with a Youth belt. I don't think the study went well. All kinds of lights kept flashing all night, had to keep trying to adjust the belt. Medicare and insurances dictate if you go to the sleep lab or not. Doesn't make sense because my dr. said we would see what the outcome of the home test was, and he may request to have one in the sleep lab. Won't know until August 1 st.
Dr Slaughter, eh? Does he kill a lot of patients on the operating table?
Well... what is the procedure?
Cpap machines are stupid!! All machines have this small ass fucking hole to breathe through!! Wtf open that shit up and push it through!
I have had bad sleep apnea for about 5 or 6 years now. My ex-gf mentioned this idea to me because I had told her many times that my nose always feels congensted and that its harder then normal for me to breath - I feel i have a slightly blocked nose all the time, even when im not sick. Her cousin apparently had the same issue and didnt even known it was a problem until she got a nose-job done (purely for aestetics reasons) and as a side effect ended up being able to suddnely breath clearly again after it. So my ex (who was a doctor herself) recommended I look into getting surgery to open up my nasal airways. I saw my doctor who put me on to a ear/nose/throat specialist. I mentioned all of this to the specialist, and he just pushed and pushed the CPAP solution on me. I spend one night in hospital on a CPAP as a trial and I actually found it extremely uncomfortable and almost scary, as I felt if anything it make it HARDER for me to breathe through my nose. I was actually paranoid that I might not be able to breath and my suffocate in my sleep, so I had an extremely hard time sleeping. Despite this he still tried to push it on to me, and told me that the only alternative to a permanenent CPAP machine was to lose weight. I refused the CPAP machine because I knew there was no way I could sleep every night with that hting on, and asked for my booking to be cancelled - then he sent a nast letter to my doctor complaining that I cancelled my appointments and that I shouldnt be allowed to drive, etc. After watchign this I think I need to go and see another doctor and another specialist, because I am pretty confident that if I could simply have my nasal airways opened up so I could breathe properly through my nose then my entire sleep apnea issue would either go away or at the very least be massively reduced.
How did it go?
@theluckyreviewerchannel9546 I've started using the nose tabs which have been helping, and have also gone back to focussing on keeping my diet more stable. It's getting better, but definitely still a work in progress.
I love your content
So my ahi is about 1.8 but i have a deviated septum and i can barely breathe through my nose and im still extremely tired. Is it normal to have a low ahi and still be tired?
Your video gives me hope. I have had such trouble with my deviated septum. I didn't have problems with swollen permanent until I started CPAP therapy. Now I'm addicted to nose spray and I can only wear my CPAP for about an hour at a time. I become suicidal when I cannot breathe through my nose. Kentucky doctors want to do the old-fashioned septoplasty and I've heard horror stories about them and have been too afraid to do it. I hope and pray somebody in Kentucky will eventually offer this. The past five years has been a nightmare for me
Great information, very clear to understand. Thanks for sharing the knowledge..
This is my situation now -- severe sleep apnea, tried a CPAP, and absolutely cannot stand it! I started freaking out with a claustrophobia attack. I have a dental device too, but it keeps coming apart and slips out of my mouth during the night. I'm scared to death about the long-term effects of this disorder, and aside from going on a strict diet and losing a boatload of weight, I don't know what else to do. Sleeping on my left side or sleeping in an elevated position on my recliner helps somewhat, but it's no magic cure-all. I know I cannot ignore this issue any longer. I turned 50 last year and don't want my quality of life ruined because of this condition. One doctor said I could possibly lose 10 to 12 years from my lifespan if I don't do anything about this. To say I am scared out of my wits about this would be an understatement.
What is your AHI?
If your AHI is high then it can drastically reduce your quality of life.
@@classvamaths1666 what is AHI?
@@aquarius4life Apnea Hypopnea Index. It must be there in your sleep study report.
@@classvamaths1666 Thanks I had a sleep study did and it was never mentioned.
each light start flashing with each little movement I make, sometimes I'll just be laying still and and the finger and nose lights just start blinking yellow. hope it still works
Rest In Peace dad
I was in college with your Dad. One summer, he and I were both in a Tennis class that met at 7 am. Your dad used up all three of his absences within the first week. That way, he knew that he could not miss anymore...otherwise, there would be a penalty of failing the class, etc.! Your dad explained all of this to the teacher & everyone got a good laugh that day. That was probably the summer of '93--exactly 30 years ago now!
@@kaohsiung99 miss hearing stories like this. Thank you
@@DJAdams125 Your dad brought a lot of energy and passion to ACU & Abilene. It was an honor to be there at the same time he was.
Be mindful, untreated sleep apnea, whatever the cause, can lead to heart attack, stroke and cardiac arrhythmias. I’m a nurse and I’ve seen it many times.
Do you perform objective nasal function study using rhinomanometry in your patients?
Statistically it's more like 70% can't deal with the CPAP. I think this guy is talking about cutting out the obstructions in the nose and throat. No way baby, not a good solution and usually does not work.
I wish my doctor would of checked where my apnea is coming from. Like hello, I wanna know what is causing this tight airway? Is it my tongue, throat, neck, tonsils? Dont just throw a sleep test at me & tell me i have sleep apnea....then send me a machine without showing me how to use it, maintain it or trouble shoot it......& then send me a mask that doesn't fit my face correctly. Its like they almost wanna set u up for failure or somethin SMH
95 % of the video that CPAP is not working, OK we know that. 5 % info for the procedure
2 things wrong off the top 1 - you are in the wrong country and 2 - you are not here near Abbotsford B.C. to do me any good , sighhhh
Can't believe someone's life depends on a Philips product
I forgot to add one more thing I do not have Harley no energy at all because of sleep and sleep apnea if I didn't have sleep apnea my stomach right now will be a surfboard but it's not that's why I don't have no energy I'm a little heavy and I have sleep apnea could be worse than sleep apnea
I have sleep apnea since I was born I did not know that so over the years as I was growing up I kept falling asleep even in school I kept falling asleep my teachers wanted me to quit my day job but I had to find a way or force myself just to stay awake and I could not do it because they did not know I have sleep apnea or anybody else until 2005 that's when I had sleep apnea because I had a hernia operation and then they found a lot of things that was wrong with me because they got big giant spot on the side of the ribs inside my rib cage and that's when they found out I had sleep apnea sometimes I use my machine and sometimes I don't because it depends what's going to happen that morning just when I get done using it in the morning it seems like I can turn right around and go right back to sleep from sunup to sundown I'm always 24/7 Dead Tired I should have been dead but no something is just keeping me going I don't know what it is but like I said every time I use that machine it just makes me tired constantly when I'm asleep at night got the machine it's supposed to cut my windpipe off and I stopped breathing for a few minutes but I'm still here I know there's options of surgery for sleep apnea my doctor wants me to use the machine but sometimes that machine just don't help out and I haven't seen my sleep doctor in a long time but right now let me finish this video have a blessed day
Dont give up use your machine it getting use to
I have mild qpnea and I stopped using it as many friends were teasing me. I usually take it off in my sleep. I need alternative
This is exactly my problem, I will talk to my doctor about this..wish I was in Austin TX
Do cellphones interfere with signal?
No
well now i can't sleep 💤 and this is on me ..
Damn belt light won't turn green so now I'm up trying to figure this out when I should be sleeping. Fun
Same, this thing is garbage.
@@mazdap98 btw, I eventually slept even though the belt light stayed yellow. When I saw my sleep doctor for the results, he said everything was recorded properly. Not sure why this happened but it definitely stressed me out and kept me up
I don't think that's his tutorial should be all music I think somebody should be talkin as your setting it up. And any commonly asked question should be in the toriel as well I just had to call the girl from the all-night service line to find out if my thing blue oxygen are but she told me no it's actually sucking the air out of my nose to see how much oxygen I'm getting so I sleep with my mouth closed so I hope this doesn't affect my test
Does deviated septum cause tinnitus?
My wife snores and I’m sick of it! I want a new one. 😂
😭😭😭😭
Anyone you can recommend in the Orlando or Ocoee, Florida area
Just a narrow strip of micropore diagonally across the mouth is very popular now and effective.
What they dont tell you is that the machine gets hot on your chest and all the pressure points alone will keep someone who suffers from insomnia from ever getting to sleep at night. When they analyze the results it will show lots of apneas. Some insomnia is caused by a mental disorder but they will say it from OSD. They dont care if they ruin your life as long it betters theirs by forcing you to buy a BPAP \ CPAP machine or inexpensive sleep studies with even more wires hooked up to you. If you really need a machine to help you sleep better that isnt caused by a mental disorder and hate the problems they create then maybe you should look into seeing if a sleep apnea implant is right for you. If you are snoring then you are breathing and possibly in deep sleep. What counts is how long it takes for you to start breathing again
Is there supposed to be air coming out? Bc I don’t feel air or hear air coming out.
I've been dealing with since problems since I was 9 years old and I've been taking antihistamines since that age, they don't help anymore. I'm 18 now. Would you guys be able to suck out the stuff out of my nose?
I started to use the device as said but the video and instructions don't SAY, DO THIS RIGHT BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP>
Dr. Can you please provide me your office information. I’m badly needing to take care of this issue with this surgery.
What I'd like to do - is have Rotor Rooter take care of my kitchen sink and my airway during the same house call.
My mums snoring so fucking loud rn sounds like a chainsaw
Who’s here after snoring?
My dad and brother does
We all love you, Mark. I am happy that you no longer snore! God bless you for your wonderful radio show! ✝️🙏💫⚘❤
Wow, thank you for the video. Didn’t know there was a treatment for this. I get this after I run outside even in good weather, I’ll be looking into this.
Which specialist doctor do you suggest? Otolaryngologist or Neurologist?
Otolaryngologist
I had a septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and nasal valve repair performed about 2months ago. My doctor used splints. I am almost certain this surgery was ineffective in that my septum feels and in my opinion is still deviated.
You may consider going back to that doctor and asking him to do another CT scan of your sinus cavities so you know if it was fixed or not. Dr. Slaughter is happy to evaluate you, if you are interested. 512-601-0303 sinussnoringent.com
