Im actually the environmental guy for that site …. As we speak
Bye bye RenCen 2 down and 3 up just looks goofy
“BIG MISTAKE” The MIAMI FREEDOM PARK Should have been a RETRACTABLE ROOF STADIUM with A/C ! Similar to MLB MARLINS PARK ! The Heat, Humidity and Rain will be Uncomfortable for People !
In bodybuilding competitions there is a pose down where the contestants push themselves to the front of stage where the judges are centered. This building's bottom portion reminds me the bodybuilder who has choicest spot and most attention flexing his pecs and biceps along with using elbows against his neighboring rivals, (in this case, Grand Central Station and the Chrysler Building). While I am in favor of a new tower at the location, the tower at street level seems a little gimmicky and grandiose. I would like to see a more comprehensive plan that re-envisions the Grand Central Viaduct (after all Park Avenue is in for a re-do) integrated with a slightly more restrained bulk at the base. Onward and upward.
This video mentions the loss of the already-ruined Commodore Hotel, while saying nothing about the spoiled views of the Chrysler Building, a much sadder result.
Have you had a flight into LaGuardia airport in New York with all the skyscrapers around there no problem there will be no problem if they were to build it and with the new FAA chief coming in under Trump, they’ll be no problem!
The design of this building is just stunning. It's unmistakenly NY. The lines on it I mean jeez. Just beautiful.
It ain’t gonna be 1,907 feet now because the FAA stated it’s too high so they cut the height down plus nothing should be surpassing 1776 feet
Sorry, but the FAA's Obstruction Evaluation Group found the 1,907-ft-tall Legends Tower could pose a “hazard to air navigation." This is just one of the many obstacles the developers have to overcome before this colossal monstrosity ever breaks ground.
A lot of this is not accurate. The stadium is not controversial. The land was contaminated and Inter Miami had to pay to get it cleaned up even though the city was the one the let it get contaminated. No environmentalist would ever call a golf course a green space except referring to the color. Golf courses displace a lot if wildlife and they consume huge amounts of water.
Us is following arabs now xD
Stop it! No skyscraper like this should exist in OKC.
I apologize, but with all due respect, I find these buildings to be unattractive.
What's an interesting irony is that the people who want small, unimaginative buildings as discussed in the video; these are the same people who gasp in awe and wonder at the supertall skyscrapers that populated Shanghai, China. There they are, at the lakefront in Shanghai, expressing to their friends at how "breathtaking" the skyline there is, only to have them come back here and bemoan the vibrant construction occurring in NYC, suggesting that the cure is to build a bunch of small, unforgettable structures...
These five new additions to New York's skyline will be a welcome addition. Not nearly as ambitious as the construction that's taking place in some Chinese cities, but on balance will serve as fine examples of the spirit of New York City. Yet New York is being held back from attaining the greatness that Shanghai is currently striving for. It's being held back and i believe i know the root cause. The root cause is being caused by those individuals who naturally hold excellence in disdain, and by extension, hold the United States in disdain. Some of the strategies they will use to promote unimaginative, lifeless and boring visions of NYC includes the construction of small buildings instead of vibrant, large skyscrapers. By encouraging the construction of these cheap and forgettable structures, these individuals succeed in having the creative minds in Shanghai surpass what few imaginative city planners were have in NYC, resulting in Shanghai being the city of the future and New York City being an also-ran; a second-rate metropolis, infamous for lackluster construction, a cynical populous, record-breaking crime waves, and yes, small buildings where great, excellent skyscrapers were once planned for construction but never executed.
I am not gonna watch the whole video.. I just want to say that they are already redesigned it and cut the height in half because of airplanes in the area and the construction was not approved anyway
They haven’t redesigned anything, stop making stuff up. They’re still going to try and build it despite the FFA findings.
This is a joke. After the notoriety wears off, it will sit half vacant at best. It would be a better fit for a city like Dallas.
1000 sky scraper made a USA please sir please
The building clashes with two of New York's most famous landmarks, Grand Central Terminal and The Chrysler Building, and is simply too big for the site. It will also contribute to the canyonization of the area. I don't like it.
What will happen when a F-5 tornado hits it???
People will die.
I'm not sure that Oklahoma City is an ideal location for a skyscraper tower with the record height of 1907ft. There also lies the possibility that the proposed record setting height could be cut in half, assuming the FAA doesn't give its blessing for the proposed record-setting height. And securing long-term tenants would be another dilemma. Other locations for such a massive project (outside of New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago) would be places like Atlanta, Charlotte, Boston, Miami, Dallas, Houston, and Seattle, to name a few places as those places can handle such a project.
Did you forget that the 2028 Olympics will be here in OKC in less than 3.5 years in the 20th largest city? Very few cities get a chance to host something of this caliber. Like the LA28 committee stated, this will be like having 17 days of Super Bowls. Plus, OKANA Indoor Water Park and Resort built by the Chickasaw Nation on 140 acers of land and will be 4th largest in the nation. All this will draw in some major business from around the world. when the LA28 committee announced these 2 major events, city and state leaders mentioned that several business leaders from around the world have been in contact with the city and the state.
What's it going to do? Empty out just about every other building in the city?
Oklahoma a financial center. Isn't that the state that destroyed its Black Wall Street 100 years ago?
I think it will be good for Oklahoma city. It will put them on the map and inspire more companies to invest there. If it actually gets built though.
Yes, I’m curious to see if it will happen. Oklahoma isn’t used to such large-scale projects like New York is.
I believe the biggest challenge is going to be infrastructure around the stadium. 20k people descending on a stadium right next to one of the busiest airports in the US. There is a metrorail station that services the airport across the street but really needs the infrastructure support to maintain that many people going to a game. As a Miamian I hope it goes well and the team succeeds. Definitely going to be challenging at first though.
“Affirmation Tower” is a complete joke
I really hate that pink kit.
Team needs to move fast before Messi retires, because stadium will be white elephant for city and team then.
Honestly they should shared a stadium with marlins it would save alot money for miami and help loan depot more successful
Yes
Correct
Hurricanes need a home near home more than anyone. They should have made a deal with U of M and agree on a fully seated 55k stadium, and open upper deck only for Canes games type of deal. Canes and their students need a home closer to campus. It’s not fair to students, also unsafe to make them have to be on a highway for such a long drive from campus, each Saturday.
25,000 seats? World class? To serve a burgeoning fan base? Huh?1
for MLS games that's the average attendance, for bigger events the games can be held where the Dolphins play
🤮
Doubt many of these buildings will be built 🤔🤔🤔
Yes, we need millions more unoccupied square feet of office space, primarily when it blocks iconic views of existing landmarks.
It's not the view that's iconic, but the building that's iconic. How can a view be iconic? Dar!
It is horrible, invasive, excentric, out of human scale, and totally useful.
Every 1 of these buildings put the f in fugly
Do you think that any one of your offspring that resulted from your unwanted breeding also has that "F" as in "Fugly"?
Its not DRV Pink Stadium its Chase Stadium!
So, it is almost 500 meters tall and has only 83 floors? This would mean that each floor is almost 6 meters high. That is quite impressive.
Once again learn to forget the retail make more parking
Love all the new development. Every single one of them. Remember: people with no vision hate ALL development. Then it gets done, then it's there, then those people die, then everyone loves them. These will be no different.
Very ugly buildings.
How do you think they compare to your reflection in the mirror?
@@glennbartusch7310 Oh, you must be a lefty liberal and I am not allowed to have my own opinion without some sort of attempted insult. Sorry, that doesn't work on me. But you are entitled to your opinion. No problem.
Those are the ugliest buildings I've ever seen.
THE TORCH BLDG IS GOING 2 B CONEY ISLAND SQUARE!!THIS BAD BOY IS GOING 2 B COMPETITOR BAIT- MAYB WORLDWIDE!!❤️😝😜😛😮😮
Honestly I think these new skyscrapers are hideous. Also carnival rides and slides? Dumb idea. A cash grab
The Eiffel Tower was deemed hideous also. Everything new is always hated by people wanting to keep the status quo.
@@dking1963 I would argue that
I personally love the growth with new skyscrapers. There’s just too many outdated shorter buildings that take up too much space. It is unfortunate that a lot of them are being built so close to the original iconic skyscrapers though
I totally agree, especially the first sentence.
New York has more problems than it needs more skyscrapers.
Your announcer said "Lye-on-nell" Messi. Lost me right right there. Didn't watch the rest.
That base and sweeping upwards plus the crown do fit together very nicely as a tapering, grand structure. Indeed, it does have a huge impact on the Chrysler Building nearby, but times move forward regardless. Maybe someday NYC will put a restriction say, within a block of any landmarked building or something along the preservation restrictions you hear about views in London. But then again, the demand to build higher in Manhattan is too strong so things be darned. Gorgeous building on its own, though!
Just what New York needs, another hideous skyscraper. Ugly building and ugly city so maybe it’s a match.
